Located on Big Sturgeon Lake, we are 20 miles North of the Chisholm/Hibbing area and just 3.5 hours North of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The largest on a 5 lake chain, Big Sturgeon lake is an all sport lake, and home to beautiful McCarthy's Beach State Park. Enjoy swimming, boating and excellent fishing.
Two kayaks and a canoe included. Paddle out and explore the island, a loon nesting area and a historic log cabin. Bringing your own boat? A public boat launch is located nearby. Pontoon/fishing boat rentals available. ATV trails nearby.
We are located across the lake from McCarthy's Beach State Park in a quiet bay. McCarthy's Beach is a perfect swimming area for young children. The water is 2 1/2 feet deep for more than 100 feet). Dig your toes into the sugary sand beach and relax or park your boat and water-ski from an area adjacent to the beach. The park offers 18 miles of hiking trails and 17 miles of mountain bike trails.
Spend the days enjoying the lake and your evenings around the firepit. Don't feel like cooking?Enjoy a meal on the porch @ Ciao, Rustic Italian Restaurant, a local favorite.
Summer 2010 Area Events: Land of the Loon Arts Festival, Fourth of July Parade/Fireworks at Side Lake. Blueberry Arts Festival, Bluesberry Jam at Fortune Bay Resort & Casino, St. Louis County Fair: Ironworld Discovery Center, Midway Rides, Exhibits, Music, Entertainment & Bull Riding.
The Main Lodge features a large greatroom with dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with access to the large deck & screened cedar gazebo. The Master bedroom has one King bed, a bath with jacuzzi tub, private balcony, and walk-in closet. Wake up to stunning lake views! Off the Master, you will find an adjacent sleeping loft which holds one Queen bed. The Second bedroom, located on the main floor offers one Queen, one Twin, and access to a full bath.
Located just steps from the Lodge, the Guest cabin or "Bunkhouse", provides additional space and privacy for your guests. The Bunkhouse Bedroom #1 has two Twin beds and Bedroom #2 has one Double bed and one Twin. The Bunkhouse offers Electric heat, Air conditioning, TV/DVD, and a bath with shower.

Main House + Guest Cabin $1900/week/1-12 people/$50 each additional person p/night
Children 2 and under = free, 3-10 = 1/2 price
Rates do not include MN Tax/Deposit of $500 due at time of reservation
Deposit refundable in full upon completion of stay if no damage to the property
is noted, missing items or excess cleaning needed.
Rent is due in full prior to stay.
