Located on Big Sturgeon Lake, we are 20 miles North of the Chisholm /Hibbing area and just 3.5 hours North of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Big Sturgeon is the largest lake on a 5 lake chain. An all sport lake, it is also home to McCarthy's Beach State Park. Enjoy fishing for trout, walleye, northern pike, bass and panfish.

The Main Cabin has wrap-around deck with plenty of space to enjoy the views of the lake. Spend your evening relaxing by the firepit or enjoy dinner while listening for the call of the Minnesota Loon from the screened cedar gazebo. A winding path takes you down to the private dock and beach area. Two kayaks provided for your use.Paddle out and explore the island, a loon nesting area and home to an old, historic log cabin. Bringing your own boat? A public boat launch is located nearby.
The cabin is located across the lake from McCarthy's Beach State Park in a private bay. Voted one of the best beaches in the Midwest, McCarthy's Beach provides excellent swimming for young children. The water is 2 1/2 feet deep for more than 100 feet). Dig your toes into the sugary sand beach and relax or park your boat and water-ski from an area adjacent to the beach. The park offers 18 miles of hiking trails, 17 miles of mountain bike trails, as well as horse trails. Pontoon & fishing boat rentals available. Public boat launch nearby.

The Main cabin features a large Greatroom with dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped and has convenient access to the wrap around deck and gazebo. The Master bedroom has one King bed, a bath with jacuzzi tub, private balcony, and walk-in closet. Wake up to stunning lake views! Off the Master you will find an adjacent sleeping alcove which holds one Queen bed. The Second bedroom, located on the main floor offers one Queen, one Twin, and access to a full bath.
Located just steps from the Main Cabin, the Guest cabin or "Bunkhouse", provides additional space and privacy for your guests. The Bunkhouse Bedroom #1 has two Twin beds and Bedroom #2 has one Double bed and one Twin. The Bunkhouse offers Electric heat, Air conditioning, TV/DVD, and a bath with shower. |
