My friends and I rented this property for Spring Break in Destin. Though none of us were over 25, the owner allowed us to stay for the week. We are a group of college students that had a lot of difficulty getting someone to rent to us when this finally came through!! The house is WONDERFUL! Large bedrooms, lots of sleeping area, grill in the back yard, screened-in porch, second floor balcony overlooking the golf course/bay/lagoon, large refrigerator, and a big hot water heater!! I can't complain at all about the surrounding area; it is quiet, aesthetically pleasing, and overall very relaxing. The house has 4 bikes that we rode around in the morning. It is a great place to go for a bike ride!! This being said, the golfing in the area is not paid for by your stay. This seemed obvious to us, but don't expect that going in. Also, if you are going around spring break when it is cooler, then there is no access to a heated pool. There is however a nice community pool shared by a small number of houses that is great for lounging if it were warm enough. If you are interested in golfing, the course is great! Or you can just watch golfers from the back porch while looking over the bay. What ever works for you. Also, the house is relatively close to any other activity you would want to participate in. It is about 10 minutes from Wal-Mart and 15-20 minutes into downtown Destin where most of the action is. It is about a 45 minute walk to the beach, so we drove every day. You have access to the Sandestin private beach about 2 miles from the house where there is ample parking for Sandestin guests. It was VERY convenient not having to battle traffic or parking at all! On the beach you can rent things from kayaks, umbrellas, sports balls, etc. in addition to the boogie boards and other beach equipment already at the house. All-in-all, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. I would definitely recommend this location!! We had a great time!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

My husband and I stayed in this villa and had a wonderful vacation. The villa was extremely spacious, delightfully decorated with vibrant colors, and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed spending time on the patio that overlooks the bay as well as the 8th hole of Links. It was fun watching the golfers in the morning. We were quite surprised that there were bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, and fishing poles for our use. When we weren't at the beach, we enjoyed lounging at the pool which was a walk in the parking lot away. We look forward to our returning trip with family and friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My wife & I along with some friends stayed here and had a wonderful time. This really felt like a home away from home. It has a very warm feel to it with the country decor. The rooms are large & comfortable. We shopped at Publix nearby for groceries and used the available cookware to make breakfast & lunch everyday. The screened in porch overseeing the golf course is perfect for relaxing and spending quality time with family and friends. I hope this place is available next year for our return trip. Interaction with the owner made the rental process an easy & pleasant experience. They even had beach chairs and umbrellas we were able to use for our time spent soaking up the sun.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

11 young ladies and I stayed in this villa over spring break and we had an amazing time. This villa was extremely spacious and we all felt right at home. It was also in a great location. We were very close to the beach and across the street from the pool. We got to enjoy the sunset every evening on the back patios. We also enjoyed all of the amenities that were in the house and took many bike rides through out the community. Every road had a bike lane which made our rides enjoyable. There was a shopping center and restaurant area a little ways down the road and it had a great night life and wonderful food. We felt very safe the entire time and there was always a security guard on duty. The community was also well lit which made us feel at ease. This location would be great for families as well as college students. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the Sandestin area.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, pet owners.

Renter beware! Although the space is wonderful and watching the golfers out back is fun, what you see is what you get NOT ANY of the amenities. Yes, there is tennis and a fitness centre BUT you must pay extra for the use of them. They are NOT included in the rental price. So beware that you need to budget for these important extras!Owner response: My "snowbird" guest from Canada must have been a tennis enthusiast evidenced by her "tennispro" screen name. Even I, as an owner in the Resort, have to pay $12/hour court time to play. The fitness center was running a special for the month of Februrary for $50 which comes to $1.78 per day. I will make it crystal clear to my next long time renters that there are nominal charges for these activities.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: Picture of my daughter, Claire and wife Karen. I am retired from UPS, live in Kentucky.
Why the Owner Chose Vantage Pointe:
I vacationed in Sandestin for the first time in 1995 and absolutley loved it. I stayed in a friend of mines home for several years and then decided to buy myself. I like the fact that you can do anything that you want to do without leaving the Resort. It is truely a self-contained City within the confines of Destin.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
As you can see from the aerial photo, my home is seculed from the hub of action although I am no more than a mile from the beach or any other activties offered on the Resort. There is very little vehicle traffic since my home homes location deadends into the Bay. At night just steps away you can see one of the most beautiful sunsets out on the point and oftenttimes see groups of Dolphins making their way through waters right off of Vantage Pointe. There is also superb fishing right outside my back door with up to 9lb fish (bass) caught. If you really want to fish, just go out into the Bay and try and land the red snappers or other big time game fish
