Two Bedroom at St. John's Apartments on Capitol Hill
- Minimum stay:3 nights

This is a perfect place for one or two couples or a family on vacation. There is one 'master bedroom', a smaller 'second' bedroom, and a really comfortable living/dining/kitchen space.
And ours is a wonderful location to explore the city! Pike Street is a main arterial connecting Capitol Hill with downtown. From here it is about 10 blocks to the shopping district and then five more to the world famous Pike Place Market. The apartment is also very convenient to many Capitol Hill restaurants and stores, and the QFC grocery across the street is world class. It's a wonderful location and a great apartment, perfect for your get-away! We've been renting this apartment as a short term for 5 years now, and the response is great. Just read our reviews and you'll know, this is a great find!
This apartment has a combined kitchen/living and dining area. The kitchen takes the length of one wall and has a full size refrigerator, a stove with oven, and a microwave. There is a dining table seating four, and next to that a small living area with couch and large stuffed chair. We have a TV with DVD and VCR and an extensive movie collection. The apartment is supplied with Dish Network, with hundreds of stations including HBO. And of course there is high speed internet.
The master bedroom is on the corner of the building, with windows looking out on Pike and Harvard. It has a California king bed (it's 6' longer than a regular king size bed...great for tall people). The second bedroom has two twin beds. These are adult sized twins, longer than standard twins and with pillow tops. They're very comfortable and long enough for adults.
And to make sure your trip is as luxurious and any five star hotel, we use 600 thread count linens on our beds! You'll love it.
A great location to explore Seattle! Our location is tremendous for both living here and for doing day trips around town. The grocery across the street is truly world class, a great selection of produce, excellent deli, bakery, wines, cheeses. There is a large drugstore above the supermarket. There are restaurants, stores and night spots on every block, all around us. This place is happening! When we bought it we thought, this is perfect for a short term rental.
We do, however, have concerns about noise. There is lots of traffic and several restaurants and bars around us. And there will be people on the street. It's a busy area! We changed the windows in the apartment to noise reducing laminated glass. This has helped tremendously, but we still feel obligated to tell everyone about this. It's a great place and a great location. But there's a trade-off there, since being in the middle of a great neighborhood means there's lots of activity around.
We're perfect for day trips! There is an auto rental agency just two blocks from us. If you want to rent a car to go to Mt. Rainier it's easy to get one for just a day. To explore Seattle you won't need a car where we're located. There are Bus Stops within one block that can take you anywhere, but you really won't need them either. We are perfectly located for walking. The famous and ever popular Pike Street Market is just down the hill, and to get there you walk right past the Washington State Convention Center, past Nordstrom's and Macy's, and the downtown shopping core. The street ends at the Pike Street Market, 17 blocks from the apartment. To the left is the Seattle Art Museum, further down First Avenue is Pioneer Square. To your right is Belltown, another vibrant Seattle neighborhood, filled with clubs, restaurants, and stores. If you continue through Belltown you come to the Seattle Center with the Space Needle and Paul Allen's Experience Music Project. This is all within easy walking distance--except Seattle Center where the Space Needle and EMP are located. For that you walk down to Nordstrom's and from there take the Monorail.
It's called Capitol Hill because it is on a hill, above downtown. When I say it's very easy to walk to downtown, I remember that sometimes I get tired walking back up the hill. That's what the buses are for!

Loved having an apartment, I would choose it over a hotel! In the heart of Capitol Hill. TONS of bars, food and entertainment in walking distance. Johnny was right there to let us in and answer any questions. #304 is airy and light. It was clean and homey and we used the patio out back each morning for our coffee and breakfast. Wifi and QFC grocery store right next door. Your key even has the discount card attached to get sale items, nice touch! The beds were super comfortable! Lived in this neighborhood 8 years ago, so was just like being home. This is a busy weekend night area, so it can be noisy at night, bring ear plugs. To be expected when you're in a vibrant night life area. There was a "white noise" machine as well if that's a concern. Thanks for the great stay!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time and walked a lot of miles-Victoria was great (took the clipper there in back in one day). Lunch at Fisherman's restaurant and bar as very good. The Pike Market flowers are beautiful. Went to Sunday Freemont Flea Market and that was fun! The apt. was the perfect home base for four women who wanted to spend days walking and site seeing and evenings laughing, talking and playing cards with a glass (es) of wine!Did you find this review helpful? Everything one could possibly need is here in this intelligently equipped apt. Travel books galore, maps, info we appreciated having at our fingertips. The "hood" is filled with great restaurants, and easily walkable to downtown. It was fine for us. Johnny is a treasure!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Had a great time and being up on the hill helped to counteract all of the good food and our trips to Molly Moon's Ice Cream. So great to have QFC right across the street wish we'd had more time to explore the local "hood-but were here for a conference in downtown. Thanks for everything.Did you find this review helpful? Really enjoyed our stay here. The weather was fabulous. The city is so much fun and Washington wines are delicious! The apartment was great-plenty of room, comfortable beds. It was great having a grocery store across the street - Beecher cheese is wonderful and made locally. We were amazed at how quiet the apartment was at night given the party atmosphere of the neighborhood. Thanks for a great place to stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had so much fun here in Seattle! We bought city asses and saw all the great attractions this city has to offer. I think our favorite was seeing the waterfront-ti's absolutely gorgeous and I think I could have watched the sailboats and ferries all day long. The apartment was so fantastic too! I loved being able to save some $ by cooking some meals here and I loved that we had lots of room to spread out and relax during our down time. It's also great having a QFC right across the street.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband, sister and I booked this cute little apartment for 3 days after an Alaskan Cruise. The location is very central, close to everything, and the apartment was the perfect size for 3 adults. It's a bit difficult to locate on the busy busy street, and the parking is around the back of the building. The apartment was spotless and in excellent condition. Newly remodeled, freshly painted and updated. The carpet was nice and clean and felt good on our bare feet. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets and pillows of high quality. The bath towels and wash clothes very thick and fluffy. Practically brand new. The apartment was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and there were condiments and spices in the cabinet and fridge left over from other guests. There was a very comfortable loveseat in the living room and a wing back chair. Each bedroom also had it's own Flatscreen TV. The bedrooms had wall air conditioners, but the living room/dining room/kitchen combo did not, however, the bedroom a/c units did cool the entire house. The apartment is located on the top floor and is not handicapped accessible. It was difficult bringing up our luggage and groceries. The neighborhood is inner city. An eclectic mix of ethnic, gays, college kids, street people and tourists. There is quite a bit of night life, including police and fire sirens quite often. although, the apartment windows are new and kept most of the sounds to a minimum. There is a grocery store right across the street where you can buy your groceries, beer, wine, etc. The neighborhood is teeming with wonderful restaurants, we ate one of the best Mexican meals I have ever had in my life two blocks down the street. I do not recommend this apartment for elderly, handicapped, or people easily scared by inner city surroundings......I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to stay in the heart of Seattle and enjoy cultural diversity and a lively nightlife hot spot!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Linda for the review! It's a very accurate description and we're glad you enjoyed the apartment. We've done everything we can to make the apartments comfortable and convenient--it feels really good to provide a totally first class experience! And your comments about the neighborhood are true-there's all kinds of people in the neighborhood, it's busy day and night. (Saturday nights are amazing!) We love this part of town, and that's one of the reasons. There is much to do, it's fun, and it's safe! There are lots of people coming and going to the restaurants, stores, etc. and that makes it a really safe and comfortable place to walk around. As far as finding us, the google map to St. John's is very accurate, everybody should use it. Since we are on Pike Street we're very easy to find. We ask all our guests to call Johnny, our apartment manager, when they get to the airport or off the boat or driving in, and he'll be there waiting to help with getting into the apartment etc. He's a great resource for neighborhood tips, too! Thanks again!

About the owner: Above is a photo of Johnny our building manager. Johnny will check you in and lives at the building in case you need anything while you stay with us. St. John's is owned by Mark Chambers and Oda Egeland. We live in the country, about an hour from Seattle, and use the short terms apartments as our in-city get away when we come to town. We're both in our mid 50's, have retired from successful careers, love to travel and enjoy the finer things of life. We always stay in VRBO apartments when we travel. It is so much more fun, and typically much cheaper, than staying in hotels. When we began looking for an apartment building we wanted to have several units that we'd use for short term rental, simply because we thought it would be fun. And it has. We've met people from all around the world, and never had one bad experience. It's been great!
Why the Owner Chose Capitol Hill:
We began the search for our apartment building over two years before we found St. John's. We were very particular about the location, because we wanted something that would be extremely convenient for both daily living (like having the grocery store across the street) and also for travelers that want to walk to the convention center or downtown. Plus our neighborhood on Capitol Hill is one of the most up-and-coming areas in the city, full of vibrant life, food, night clubs, shops, galleries, it's all here, right around us.
