Ladies' escape

This house was a perfect getaway for us. It is beautiful and clean, very tastefully decorated and there are plenty of supplies. We enjoyed spending time at the patio and in the pool. The location is very central. We could not have been happier with our stay.

Winter Escape

Guest: Dorothy J.
Date of Stay: 01/16/12 Review Submitted: 03/06/12

This truly was a home away from home. We spent 5 weeks escaping the Canadian winter and enjoyed every minute of our stay. It was clean, the beds were comfy, the kitchen was well equipped (even spices!), the gas fires cozy and the pool and spa very inviting. There was plenty of space for 6 people. The location was very convenient for hiking, shopping, biking and golfing. If you love Palm Springs, this is the place to stay for ambience and style.

Mother's Day Weekend

Guest: Kathy (Huntington Beach)
Date of Stay: 05/06/11 Review Submitted: 05/13/11

My family and I had a great time here. The home was very clean. The pool was clean and a good size. The backyard was large. The jaguzzi was hot. There was shade and sun in the backyard. The beds were comfortable. The view of the mountains was beautiful. Tom, the owner, was a very friendly person to deal with. We also liked how it was dog friendly.

Everything you need

Guest: Charles (Culver City, CA)
Date of Stay: 04/29/11 Review Submitted: 05/07/11

This place has everything you could need: the kitchen is stocked (a wine aerator even!), great rafts for the pool, tons of towels and robes, bikes. It's obvious Tom has done this before. And then the house itself is ideal: great heated pool and furniture, fire pit, jacuzzi, great modern design. I never left the whole weekend. It was incredibly comfortable. And the way the house is situated you get sunlight on the backyard and pool all day. 2 couples with 2 kids and plenty of room. There is also a park very close by for the kids.

Bright, clean, relaxing getaway

Guest: J (San Diego, CA)

I just got back from a weekend trip to Palm Springs with some girlfriends from college. This was the perfect house - it was clean and super sunny. It also has an incredibly well stocked kitchen, a great hot tub and pool and lots of clean towels. I will definitely be back!

We stayed here this past weekend and I can't rave enough about the house. It was so clean, well-equipped & stocked. The pool, hot tub, fire pit, and general landscape were awesome. We had such a great time and will be back for sure. I appreciate that the place "was" as it was described online. Thanks again for everything.

Booking again for our annual trip!

Guest: Melanie (Bonadore)
Date of Stay: 04/07/11 Review Submitted: 12/23/11

Absolutely perfect! We plan to come back every year and 2012 will start that tradition as I am about to book it again. The kitchen, living room, pool, patio, bedrooms and bathrooms all exceeded our greatest expectations. The gas fireplaces inside and out are brilliant and came in very handy since it was a little colder than we anticipated. Thank you for everything and we look forward to many more years of staying at your house.

Wonderful House in quiet neighorhood... great for Dogs too

Guest: Sir Jack Booty (Los Angeles, CA)
Date of Stay: 12/30/10 Review Submitted: 01/05/11

Beautiful house... simple and comfortable. I was there over the new years holiday and it was rather chilly in Palm Springs, but Tom's house had everything we needed... down to the robes. The out door fire pit kept us warm when were weren't in the jacuzzi or grilling off that great gas grill. This place is also perfect for a dog, with a park just a short walk away. Perfect for 3 couples, I wouldn't try to fit anymore than 6 into this house, it would feel too cramped. Tom was one of the nicest and easiest home owners to deal with... I will definitely try to rent this place again.

Great Palm Springs Getaway

Guest: chloe (Los Angeles)
Date of Stay: 11/10/10 Review Submitted: 11/18/10

If you're looking for the perfect Palm Springs getaway, look no further because you're lucky enough to have found this listing! My husband and I spent our first anniversary here for 3 very much needed days of relaxation. The house looks as good as the pictures you'll find here and is even better in person. We've stayed before at the Parker for the same price and when we decided to go to the (tiny) pools there, there weren't any places available to sit! For the same price here, you can wake up in the morning and have your coffee by you very own private pool (that might even be bigger than the Parker's). You can't go wrong with this place! Especially if you want to just chill out and relax. We didn't want to leave.

Learn from my mistake!

Guest: SM (LA)
Date of Stay: 09/01/10 Review Submitted: 09/03/10

We booked a vacation house other than Tom's, but when we arrived, the place was a dump. I emailed Tom at 11pm to see if we could switch to his house last minute. He emailed me back at 6am, and we were settled in his house by 9am. Tom saved our much needed vacation. His house is comfortable, the pool and backyard relaxing, and Tom makes you really feel like his home is your home. If you are deciding between homes to rent, make sure there is a picture of the bathroom - Because not all bathrooms are as clean and sanitary as Tom's : ) Thank you Tom!

spent a month at tom's place this year from mid feb to mid march. really nice open place that opens to a even bigger full backyard. our dogs are still depressed moving back to their loft apt. great privacy its like you have your own little world wanting nothing from the outside world except albertson's to get beer and steaks for the grill. place is kept up and plenty of room for any friends or family lucky enough to join you. miss the place so much and will return sooner than later

We returned!

Guest: Denise and Peter (Victoria, Canada)
Date of Stay: 05/13/09 Review Submitted: 05/30/09

We did return for the month of October, 2006 and loved it so much we bought our own house in the valley. We had the opportunity to see the house again in Spring 2009. Vacation rentals can quickly become tired and worn, corners cut in maintenance. We were delighted to see that this house is in the same pristine condition as when we rented 3 years previously. White towels sparkled. The bedding was fresh. Uncluttered and simply beautiful. We continue to highly recommend this property to our friends.

what a great place and way to ring in the new year! after some initial glitches and tom's very prompt attention coordinating service providers for fast resolutions (over a holiday, no less), our week was wonderful; and, i don't know how he did it, but he even managed to get the weather to cooperate, making the trip even more than we'd hoped. the cherry on the sundae was the lovely gift basket with wine, cheese, crackers, and nuts he sent as an apology. unnecessary, but greatly appreciated and very thoughtful. while palm springs has much to provide in the way of entertainment and shopping, tom has created a space you aren't compelled to leave...ever. we ventured out only twice during the week, for supplies and a movie. otherwise, we could be found on the lanai and in or by the pool during the day, and in the jacuzzi or wonderfully heated pool and by the fire pit in the evening. in a word - heaven. mid-century modern is exactly what vrbo is all about -- providing a house to be your home for however long you need. and tom clearly understands this.

Truly a work of art- from the beautifully restored George Alexander home, to the plush accomodations inside. After a long drive from LA, this was a wonderful retreat to come home to. The manicured landscape, salt water pool, the jacuzzi, fire pit, tastefully decorated interior, comfy bed was all you needed to start a memorable vacation. The best part of the trip was the unexpected call from Tom (the owner) who personally welcomed you to his home as you walk in the the door. Highly Recommend, A+.

Three days we'll never forget! The house is beautiful and ready with every amenity and luxury, yet it feels like home the minute you walk in. The yard and patio are fabulous, and the salt water pool is really terrific - it's a big improvement over chlorine. And we are all missing those comfy comfy beds. The location is great, quiet and residential but close to the center of town. The owners are super - solicitous but not intrusive. We'll definitely be back!

We had the most amazing stay. Tom was a great host. The house has so many beautiful surprises - the fire on ice fireplace is stunning. We are already booked for October and can't wait for another wonderful swim under the stars and palm trees.

From start to finish, this was a luxurious experience. The owners are mindful, thoughtful and responsive. They have loaded their lovely, impeccable home with all sorts of goodies. The pool is sumptuous, the beds are outstanding, the quiet is delicious, and the flat screen TVs are fab. We couldn't have picked a more intimate, tasteful home for our little New Year's soiree. We would return in a shot, and look forward to doing so in Spring.
