About this property

Casa Porvenir Compound: La Casita & El Nido- Sculpted Elegance on the Beach

Porvenir, in Spanish, means future. The remarkable sunset seascape vistas from Casa Porvenir celebrate the perpetual rhythms of day's end and the promise of a new dawn beyond the descending cloak of tropical darkness.

Casa Porvenir Group/Family Compound is an ideal setting for basking in the glow of the present and dreaming of the promise of the future. Casa Porvenir is a large landscaped property with an abundance of tropical trees and flowers. Your party will enjoy privacy at Casa Porvenir. We accommodate our guests in the Casita Suite (La Casita) and in the Palapa Suite (El Nido- please see VRBO separate listing for more details/photos ), offering comfort, privacy and simple elegance. More detailed information on accommodations may be found on the website. La Casita has a fully provisioned kitchen with an ocean view and a bathroom whose shower is open to the sky – the sun in the day and the stars and moon at night. An ample bedroom sleeps 2 (king or twins) and a sleeper sofa sleeps one child. There are views of the ocean from every room and from the expansive deck (estancia) there is a breathtaking 120 degree view of the Pacific Ocean. A scan of the ocean vista from shore to horizon at any moment during the day may reveal gliding and diving sea gulls, high flying frigate birds, whales breaching, surfers riding the crests off the point, scuba-masked divers exploring underwater hideouts of lobsters and sea cucumbers, and dolphins leaping in their graceful arcs across the surface of the ocean … and, punctuating the soft brilliance of the setting sun, flocks of pelicans paint an undulating silhouette against the western sky.

El Nido with its classic tropical palm-thatched roof has a fully provisioned mini-kitchen, a spacious bathroom and an ample bedroom sleeping 2 adults and 2 children that opens onto a lounging deck. From the kitchen and deck the picturesque coastal range meets the eye. See casaporvenir website for more details.

For our guests Casa Porvenir is prized as a celebration of privacy, beauty, tranquility, serenity, renewal and regeneration. It has celebrated weddings, anniversaries and birthdays. Come and join the celebration of life. It is our hope that Casa Porvenir will bless our guests with rest, love, romance, creativity, healing and hope for the future.

Sublime
Jolene was an excellent communicator and the house was equipped with every amenity, sans tv, which was what we preferred. We all loved Troncones, our first visit. We surfed, cave-hiked, walked and ate so well. Gladys cooked a couple of delicious meals! (Motorbikes helped access an otherwise long walk to town.) So many thanks for a perfect stay.

A perfect sourjourn
Casa Porvenir and El Nido are magical. Beautiful, immaculate, thoughtfully designed. We cooked, read, looked for shells, watched for whales, sat in the swing for wild sunsets. This is a very special place directly on one of the world's best beaches. Thanks for letting us share it.

A welcoming, stunningly beautiful place to rejuvenate and enjoy Trancones
Casa Porvenir was such a dream for my wife, daughter, granddaughter and myself. We loved how much the home and grounds felt like a tropical extension of how we love to live. The house was open, filled with the air from the sea, the plants were well tended with mostly natives from this bioregion, the kitchen was a delight to cook in, the shower was magical as you could take a shower and watch the moon pass overhead, and the location, with the view of Trancones Point from the swinging bench helped us to fall in love with the well-held home. Jolene and Wayne were such a delight to communicate with as they both have such big hearts and a great sense of grace which you can see in Casa Porvenir. Thank you Wayne and Jolene for sharing your paradise with our family. We want to return, again and again...

What an Experience!
My husband and I loved our get away to Manzanillo Bay. Beautiful setting , located right on the beach, with nightly spectacular sunsets. This home is very well appointed with lovely sitting areas, comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen and well kept gardens. We were so impressed with the architecture and wonderful Mexican craftsmanship of the casa. The owners had a dream and it appears it was communicated and executed well. What a unique home. Jolene was very helpful with planning and assisting us throughout our stay. If you plan a stay, make sure you have Gladys cook for you. Best chiles rellenos ever! The swimming in this area is quite safe, which is not always the case on the Pacific coast. We loved using the boogie boards, that were made available for us. Make sure you hit Eden, a nearby hotel on Friday night for live music and Johnny's in nearby Majahua for shrimp meals. All in all a very tranquil and relaxing time.

Wonderful escape
We spent a wonderful week at Casa Porvenir. The house is very nice, with the beach side completely open. The sunsets are really spectacular. The beach directly in front of the house is rocky (we had a great time wading in the tidal pools looking at the sea life), and there is a swimming beach a couple hundred yards to the south. We occasionally saw people walking or riding horses on the beach in front of the house, but for the most part there was no one to be seen but us. This was mostly a veg-out trip for us, but for the more actively inclined there are a number of places to rent bikes, surf boards, etc. There are a number of restaurants a short walk in both directions, with fresh local seafood the star attraction. We particularly enjoyed the little places on the beach at La Majahua just to the north. Gladys, the maid (maid service six days a week), will also prepare meals at a reasonable cost. She prepared dinner for us three nights and everything she made was delicious. There are additional restaurants and shops in "downtown" Troncones, which is a longish (2.5 miles) walk or an inexpensive cab ride away. As my wife said, this is a great place to come if you want to get off the grid but not way off. This was our first visit to this area and we will almost certainly be back.

About the host

Honoring legacy comes naturally from being first and second generation descendants of ancestors from Belgium and Lithuania. Honoring differences was learned in lessons from having lived and worked in diverse communities in the US and in seven countries abroad. Honoring service was learned in work "on the ground" with babies and small children with AIDS, with barrio children who wanted to learn but had no school and with young children who were mis-labelled and pushed aside because they were neither seen nor known. Humility was learned by lessons in the benefits and disadvantages of the accident of birth. Beauty was learned from smiling faces in the presence of joy and desperation. And, in the mountains, deserts, oceans, lakes and rivers of this spectacular small planet. We and our staff will do our very best to honor and to serve you here at Casa Porvenir in Troncones, Guerrero, Mexico.

With gratitude for life's lessons,
Jolene & Wayne Maes
