3 cute, one-room (studio) apartments, all in the same 14th century building, full of Parisian charm. Managed by our ground floor travel agency, Blue Marble Travel.
The two larger ones sleep up to 4 (though they are studios: all occupants must be reasonably intimate, and groups of 4 adults are not generally happy with the arrangement). The smallest sleeps 2. Details on LOCATION, PRICE and AVAILABILITY are on our web site, bluemarble-dot-org.
Two of the studios, 'Citron' and 'Soleil,' occupy the whole first floor of our building (European system, so one flight up).
The smaller one, 'Petit Nuage,' is on the 3rd floor.
We are located in the heart of the 2nd arrondissement's Montorgueil pedestrian neighborhood, a block from a lively market street with a plethora of fresh products. Sidewalk cafés, excellent restaurants of all levels, and no fewer than 7 patisseries are all within 2 blocks. A short walk (15 minutes or less) takes you to the Louvre, the Pompidou Center, Palais Royal, Notre Dame, the Marais, and many of the city’s other prime attractions.
Longer distances are equally easy to navigate: 9 métro lines (including direct lines to both airports, to 6 of Paris' 7 train stations, and to the intercity bus station) are within five minutes’ walk.
'Citron' and 'Soleil' are both the size of a large (for Paris) hotel room: 21 sq. meters. They have high ceilings (indeed, 'Citron' is almost a cube), the exposed beams befitting their 700+ years, kitchen areas, and detached bathrooms: half tub in 'Citron,' full tub in 'Soleil.'
'Petit Nuage' is cozier (16 sq. meters), but light and pleasant, and well-layed-out.
'Soleil' is on the front of the building, with a view to our semi-pedestrian street. An 'L' shape makes it feel smaller than 'Citron,' though it is not. Street noise is relatively low-volume (few cars, double-glazed windows), and the apartment is light and pleasant. It offers a 'French double' bed (120 cm, NOT queen size) and 2 chairs that fold out to single beds.
'Citron' and 'Petit Nuage' are on the courtyard: almost eerily quiet for city apartments.
'Citron,' on the lower floor, offers a little terrace looking out on the courtyard. The studio is cool in summer and warm in winter, but gets less natural light than 'Soleil.' Great for night owls, and a haven of peace in a busy city. Offers a double bed, plus a futon couch, which folds out to a double bed.
'Petit Nuage' is light and airy, with a comfortable bathroom and pleasant kitchen area. The main room feels spacious, but this is attained by means of a pull-out bed (easy-to-manipulate, comfortable).
Wireless internet is available (and free) in all three.
Either Citron or Soleil has the floor space for a pack n' play crib, which we offer without charge. Petit Nuage is less suitable for children: 3 flights up a narrow staircase, only one bed (and insufficient floor space for another)....moreless
'Citron' offers a double bed, and also a pull-out double futon.
'Soleil' has a 'French double' (120 cm), plus two pull-out chairs that convert to single beds.
'Petit Nuage' has only a convertible double bed (and can thus only sleep two).
A 'Pack and Play' style crib is available for 'Soleil' or 'Citron.' It would be a very tight fit in 'Petit Nuage,' with the convertible bed deployed.
Detached bathrooms in all 3 studios. Full tub in 'Soleil,' half tubs in 'Citron' and 'Petit Nuage.' All have hair dryers....moreless
Airport transfers, bicycle rental ('Vélib'' city bikes or road touring bikes for longer trips), day trips to Versailles or Normandy, 'Moulin Rouge' tickets and reservations, hotel bookings, luggage storage, railpasses and reservations... even an emergency wine list, all available from our rail-specialist travel agency on the ground floor....moreless

7 pastry shops, a host of sidewalk cafés, the scenic glory of medieval Paris, independent day trips to Versailles, Normandy, Disneyland..., cycle rental (or, join one of our organized cycle trips)...
Year Purchased: 1996
About: We've worked and lived in this, our favorite Parisian neighborhood, for 30 years.
Why Paris Arrondissement 2: We are city people, and living in the medieval heart of one of the world's most beautiful, in a zone (relatively) free of cars, is a dream come true.
These apartments used to be our home. With the arrival of our 2nd child, we needed more space, and we now live a couple of blocks away. We rent out our old places to help pay the rent on our new one.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio: Easily accessible to everything you could want to see in Paris. A huge swath of the city is reachable on foot, and convenient métro and bus routes reach the rest. Or, we offer 'Vélib' cycle rental cards for as little as 1€ / day, and a bike is a wonderful way to show off the city.
In addition, the apartment's own pedestrian neighborhood bustles with markets, boutiques, cafés, gardens, and churches. It offers contact with a typically French way of life that is a dated stereotype in many parts of the country, but which is alive and well in our little village neighborhood.
