Location: Paris Arrondissement 2, Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Area), France, Europe (Served by 9 métro lines, incl direct trains to both airports) View Map

Accommodations:  Apartments, Studio, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)

2 cute studios, in the same 14th century building, full of Parisian charm. All details on LOCATION, PRICE and AVAILABILITY dates are on our web site (hint: it is "bluemarble-dot-org").

The studios, called "Citron" and "Soleil," occupy the first floor of our building (European system, so one flight up).

We are located in the heart of the 2nd arrondissement's beautiful Montorgueil pedestrian neighborhood, a block from a lively market street with a plethora of fresh products. Sidewalk cafés, excellent restaurants of all levels, and no fewer than 7 patisseries are all within 2 blocks. A short walk (15 minutes or less) takes you to the Louvre, the Pompidou Center, Palais Royal, Notre Dame, the Marais, and many of the city’s other prime attractions.

Longer distances are equally easy to navigate: 9 métro lines (including direct lines to both airports and to 6 of Paris' 7 train stations) are within five minutes’ walk.

"Citron" and "Soleil" are both the size of a large (for Paris) hotel room. They have very high ceilings (indeed, "Citron" is almost a cube), the exposed beams befitting their 700 years, kitchen areas, and detached bathrooms (half tub in "Citron," full tub in "Soleil").

"Soleil" is on the front of the building, with a view to our street. Slightly smaller than "Citron." Street noise is low-volume (double-glazed windows, semi-pedestrian street), and the apartment is light and pleasant. Double loft bed and 2 chairs that fold out to twin beds down below, lots of closet space.

"Citron" is on the courtyard: almost eerily quiet for a city apartment, cool in summer and warm in winter, with a little terrace looking out on the courtyard. More floor space than "Soleil," but less natural light. Good for night owls, and a real haven of peace in a busy city. A double bed plus a futon couch, which folds out to a double bed.

2 Cute, Economical Studios, in Paris' Pedestrian Heart

Year Purchased: 1996

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 2

These apartments used to be our home. As we had children, we needed more space so we moved a couple of blocks away and rent the studios to others who want to explore and enjoy medieval Paris.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartments

Easily accessible to everything you could want to see in Paris, either on foot or by métro or bus. In addition, the apartment's own neighborhood is pedestrian-friendly, with markets, boutiques, cafés, gardens, and churches.

    • My wife and I were in Soleil between Sept 26 to Oct 6, 2009. Location was perfect. 5 min walk to the largest Metro Interchange, with a direct train to the CDG airport. Montorgueil market has plenty of cafes and food choices. Very accessible to every thing. Bluemarble staff were very helpful, and they all spoke english! One note about Soleil though, since it faces the street, it can get loud at night, especially during the weekend. Never felt unsafe even late at night. Having the kitchen, washing machine and WiFi was a huge plus. It may not be the Ritz, but it was an excellent stay! Highly recommended!

    • My sister and I stayed at The CITRON for 6 nights. It was perfect for us. The location is really central and we went out exploring every day. The metro is super convenient to get to all areas of the city; but I found if the weather was nice I would just walk back to the apartment. Booking was easy and train tickets from the airport and accompanying instructions were the BEST!! It was great to be able to go the the markets and even the Monoprix where we stocked up on water and coffee. There's a wonderful little crepe stand at corner of St. Denis and Reaumur. There's a Scottish pub called The Thistle on St. Denis that was really fun. Finally, it was so nice to have Nicholas downstairs to guide us and answer any questions that we could think up. I will absolutely plan another visit around the availability of "our" apartment. Merci Beaucoup.

    • I always enjoy the Citron and La Boheme when I come to Paris. They are very cozy. The location is perfect. The amenities are adequate; wireless access is very nice to have in the Citron. It would be nice to have wireless in the La Boheme instead of Ethernet cable access

    • My family and I had a wonderful time in the La Boheme apartment. Everything worked wonderfully and the apartment was completely stocked with everything we could think of, including some things we didn't (like travel books!). The stairs are something though, so be prepared. The Blue Marble staff was amazing and even had an area information guide ready for us when we arrived! I would not hesitate to book with them again if I choose Paris again.

    • My girlfriend and I stayed in Citron for 3 nights, and it was all we could ask for... great location, very cozy and comfortable, and a great price... the Blue Marble personnel was great, answering questions before we arrived and while we were there... if we ever make a trip back, you can bet we'll be looking at Blue Marble... THANKS FOR EVERYTHING... THE TRIP WAS GREAT!!!

    • It's a long climb up to La Boheme and the apartment is a bit "rough around the edges". The neighbors and the revelers outside can get a bit loud even pretty late at night. The location is basically perfect and the price was excellent. Having Blue Marble right downstairs is worth it's weight in gold as Nicolas was exceptionally helpful. We'd stay again without a doubt. However, if you need a fancy room, peace and quiet or easy access this particular apartment may not be for you. On the other hand if you are easy-going and like a good inexpensive room and expert advice I suggest you give it a try.

      Homeowner Response:
Guests were a family of four (including two children) who stayed in La Bohème, deploying all three beds. This may have something to do with the "rough around the edges" comment (?) — if all three beds are out, there is more than a bit of a dorm room feel....

    • I stayed in the Soleil for a week with my boyfriend and we had a very positive experience. The location is excellent- right next to Rue Montorgueil, very central metro stations, tourist attractions, and some cool boutique stores. The apartment was very clean and a good size for us. I have looked around vacation rental sites and think this is a great deal for the price. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants a cozy, comfortable, and affordable stay in Paris.

    • The location was perfect and super convenient to the outstanding pedestrian market. We loaded up on fresh cheese, breads and wine every evening before dinner. Also the metro stops took us throughout the city. The apartment was clean and roomy with excellent facilities. Thanks for a memorable stay.

      Homeowner Response:
      Dr. Walker rented La Boheme.
