Owners, Kevin and Lisa Greenspan have taken great care to provide a place that emphasizes the beauty of this mountain lake sanctuary, while offering the convenience of many amenities.
These newly constructed townhouses overlook beautiful Lake James and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Come and visit with friends or family and enjoy a host of activities such as waterskiing, wake boarding, boating, fishing, photography , Leaf watching and hiking. Enjoy biking on the perimeter road that surrounds the lake as it winds around the lake up and down the hilly tree lined country side. Be on the watch for crossing wildlife including wild turkey, deer, or the occassional bear with cub. Mountain biking enthusiasts will appreciate the many single track trails that bring bikers to this area from all over the country. The fall colors on these roads are spectacular. Snow-Skiing enthusiasts can enjoy the peaceful solitude of our townhouses nestled on a mountain ridge sitting atop an amazing view of Lake James which is just out the back door. What better way to spend you tired evenings and early mornings. Enjoy the hi end A/V experience with our living room Plasma theater complete with Onkyo surround sound, ipod hook-ups, and a gas fireplace. Natural sunlight spills through windows and full glass patio doors in each of 3 bedrooms and the 4th sleeping area is a bedroom/gameroom for the kids downstairs. The view from each bedroom and the main living space is a masterful landscape of smokey blue mountains contrasting with the expansive beauty of Lake James. The owners have decorated the walls with photos of their exotic travels over the world from the top of the Himalyan mountains in Nepal and India through the cities of Kathmandu and cloudy landscapes of the magnificent local Blue Ridge Mountains. Each unit has two-42' decks with screened area, creating a wonderful terrace that overlooks the breath taking beauty of lake James.
Bear Cliff Community in McDowell County is conveniently located to Interstate 40 and is 50 minutes from downtown Asheville and its many spectacular sightseeing opportunities like the famous winding Blue Ridge Parkway and the extravagant Biltmore House. Tour Black Mountain, a quaint, small town, just 30 minutes away that is steeped in amazing artistry talent that has a variety of unique shops and restaurants bringing visitors from the world over.
Located inside our community you'll have access to the Marina/Restaurant. We have a 21' Pontoon Boat with 70 hp ,Suzuki 4 stroke motor available for rent with a discount for townhouse guests.
The townhouse has 1 King Bed, 2 Queens, 2 Twin Beds
1- Bunk Bed (1 Full on bottom, Twin on top), and a Futon Sofa/Bed.
Tennis courts, Marina, Open Air Restaurant and Bar are all located in the development.
A 21' Pontoon Boat is available for an
additional $1000- per week for townhouse guests and 1400/wk for just boat rental. $250 daily Rental Rate for pontoon boat. An additional deposit is required with all boat rentals.
Weekly or longer stays include linen and cleaning fees. Daily rentals will have an additional one time charge of $100 each for cleaning and linen fees. Two Night Minimum when available off season.

Dr. Greenspan, I just want to let you know what a nice time we had at your Lake James place over Christmas. We also hit it right for snow at Wolf Ridge north of Asheville, where we went snowboarding and tubing. The townhouse was more than we even anticipated. We felt pampered and all of our "techno" desires were met, ie: High speed Wi-Fi, Big flat panal plasma, big time surround sound, cell signal, etc. The colors and design make you feel immediately safe and comfortable. The kids room downstairs was incredible. Like camp for kids. They loved the XBOX video games and the Direct TV satellite movies right in their room with the futon and bunk beds. The views of Lake and Mountains from the living room and bedrooms is breath-taking. We'll be back!! Sarah Hart
