We rented this house for the first two weeks of April this year. My boyfriend's children and grandchildren visited us the first week and then a couple visited us for the second week. It is the perfect place for kids and families. It's quiet and a very short walk to the beach. The house is roomy and has so much storage space. The huge kitchen is well stocked with every amenitiy you could want. Every bedroom has access to the lanai. The loft is almost a total living area in itself with fantastic mountain views. The house is is surrounded by lush Hawaiian plants which give a very remote feeling. The owner was so gracious in offering us everything we could possibly need. She brought over new chairs, boogie boards and even a new barbeque just before we arrived. She was also very responsive in our communication regarding the reservations and all questions I had before our arrival It was clean and well maintained. You really don't need a car as beach, restaurants and shops are withing walking distance. I can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We had a wonderful family gathering at Hokulele Hale, enjoying the space, access to the beach and relaxed atmosphere. It was a short walk to the Hanalei beach with all the accessories needed in beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkels, etc. Ann was a pleasure to work with. Hope we can come again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We just returned from an 8 night stay at this wonderful home located in Hanalei. I can't recommend it enough! It is close enough to the beach that you can walk with chairs, toys, boogie boards, and a cooler, but situated far enough off the main street that you feel totally secluded in a jungle oasis. The house itself is very well appointed - beautiful kitchen, spacious master bedroom, two smaller bedrooms, and a loft with a queen bed. We were four adults and three children and it did not feel crowded at all. The lanai is wonderful and wraps around the house (kids ran laps every morning), and provided a nice evening retreat from which to listen to the birds (roosters too!) and enjoy a drink in the peacefulness of the surroundings. The house also comes with several boogie boards, a ton of sand toys, many beach chairs, and an outdoor shower. Inside there is a FULLY stocked kitchen, ample room for supplies and groceries, bedrooms with strorage space to unpack your things, large closets, and a comfortable dining and living space. There is also a loft with a tv and plenty of toys for the kiddos. They also have travel cribs (2), and two booster chairs and a high chair. Very kid-friendly space. We felt right at home and everyone was happy and comfortable. The town of Hanalei, and easy 5 minute stroll from the house, is a jem and we have been here 8 times so far - enjoyed every trip. Be prepared for some rain, but with a house this nice to take refuge in, its hardly a bother. Also by now I don't even hear the roosters, but you may want to bring earplugs for sleeping.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What an amazing vacation home. The property is private with a perfect Hanalei location. Just a short walk to the beach (which we did both during the day and night). The home is very spacious and had plenty of room. Everything was immaculately clean. It had all the comforts of home BUT BETTER! The owner was very accommodating and helpful! I can’t wait to come back!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My stay was truly paradise! The grounds and the views from this home are beautiful! Perfect location, walking distance to town and beautiful Hanalei Bay beach. The home is clean, with all necessary accommodations. The owners, Ann and Guy, are very nice, and made sure that our stay was perfect. It was so relaxing and quiet; I can't wait to go back! I recommend this home for a great vacation get away!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have just returned from a 7 day stay and have nothing but good things to say about this rental home. The location is ideal, tucked away off the end of a cul de sac surrounded by lush flora and fauna such that you have almost complete privacy. The Lanai ( sundeck ) is ideal for those restful periods and early morning coffee! The beach is a block and one half away and the walk to town is a mere 3 blocks so everything is readily accesible to you in Hanalei without needing to drive. Beach chairs, unbrellas and boogey boards are all there for your use. We travelled with another couple and their two year old daughter and the home was fully equipped to handle the childs needs from high chair and pack and go crib to toys in the loft for her to enjoy play time with. The owners , Ann and Guy were most accomodating and called to ensure everything was to our satisfaction.. We would not hesitate to rent this vacation home in the future and hope to be able to do so again in a few years. Our vacation time at the home and in Hanalei itself was truly awesome. Enjoy!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family had a wonderful holiday in this spacious home located just a block from beautiful Hanalei Bay Beach and a short walk from the interesting shops and restaurants in Hanalei town. We also took advantage of the the Hanalei Yoga studio and their great instructors. The lanai was such a relaxing place to be, listening to the birds in the nearby trees along the creek. Anne, the owner, was very responsive to our questions.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was such a great place to stay. I received much kudos from the family for finding such a nice house. Much has already been said so I'll try not to repeat. The house is nicely secluded, but just a five minute walk to the beach. The home was clean, updated and very comfortable. As the owners, Ann and Guy, live locally they are very welcoming and helpful. Guy is a pilot who took us on a personal helicoter tour, which was fantastic! I am now planning our return trip for this summer and realized that I forgot to write a review.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

Our family stayed here for 2 weeks, summer of 2011. Home was exactly as described in listing. However, it is nicer than described!! Owner was wonderful to work with, very helpful. Perfect home for a family, or couples. Location is perfect for walk to town or to beach. The yard is so lush that pictures could never do it justice! Very relaxing vacation!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My parents and my husband and two young daughters stayed for 7 days at this wonderful Hanalei home and we were very happy with the location, cleanliness and all of the accommodations. The outdoor shower was perfect after an afternoon at the beach. The beautiful flowers and plants that surround the house made it feel like we were tucked away in paradise. The loft was filled with toys for our young girls. The kitchen was ample and we cooked every meal there. We walked to town and to the beach every day. We've already given the info to someone on the plane on our way home. We highly recommend this home as a place to stay for a great get away!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in March and loved it. The house is big enough that three couples were very comfortable and there's room in the loft for even more. The lanai, which completely circles the house on the second floor, is wonderful, very comfortable, and a great place to hang out, even in the rain. The house was clean and well stocked and the large, well equipped, kitchen was great for multiple cooks. We particularly enjoyed the gas grill as there's a great fresh fish market only a few blocks away, never had ahi so fresh! Easy walk to the beach, Hanalei Town, and the farmers markets. Would gladly, and probably will, stay again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is truly our home away from home. We've stayed there for a total of 5 weeks in the last few years, and I start to feel like I really live there - and never want to leave. The location, size, comfort, and cleanliness of the house cannot be beat. It's great for 2 couples up to 3 couples with a few kids too. This place is also a gourmet's dream - the kitchen has everything you could want to cook huge island meals, and is large enough to have multiple people in there cooking and making Mai Tai's at the same time. The master bedroom and bath are actually bigger than our place in Seattle, so it feels wonderful. You can't go wrong with this Hale.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I recently stayed here for a short time and wish it could have been more. The house is comfortably spacious, filled with all of the amenities needed for a homey stay, as well as alot of perfect beach toys. One of the most beautiful beaches is just several steps down the road, and the sweet town of Hanalei is about a block's walk away. After a rainy night, which lead to a sunny day on the beach, I saw 5 waterfalls looking out of the master bedroom window!! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay while in Hanalei. The house was clean, well supplied, very cosy and in a perfect location. The owner was very easy to work with and and very helpful. This is a great place.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was our 5th trip to the house and it was our best time yet. The house has everything we need to feel right at home. The kitchen is well equipped and the wrap around lanai works wonders for our kids to run laps and burn energy while we sit in the outdoor living room. The house is a wonderful location! We can walk to the beach or town in just a few minutes. It is at the end of the cul de sac, quiet with no traffic. We have many wonderful family memories at this house!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We just returned home from our third visit to Hokulele Hale in as many years. This time there were 6 of us and we all fit most comfortably in this special home where we were greeted with Kona coffee and a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts. The bedrooms are roomy, bathrooms clean, and living spaces geared for complete relaxation. My favorite is the outdoor shower! The walk to the beach and to town is short, people are friendly, and flip-flops are the only footwear you need. Hokulele Hale is equipped with beach towels, boogie boards, and beach chairs for the beach. Linens inside are very clean, as is the rest of the house. We ate every meal except one at home for the entire visit; pots, pans, and utensils are in profusion. In short, Hokulele Hale has become the favorite of our family and we look forward to our return there.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This property was in a nice location, a short walk from the beach and town. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the house. The cabinets were sticky and the lanai needed a good power washing. The bathrooms were not up-to-date. Screens were torn or off track in places. This resulted in many geckos, ants and other creatures in the house. The owners were accommodating.Owner response: We encourage our guests to contact us with any questions or concerns from the moment they enter our home. Although complaints are rare, we are able to address concerns that are brought to our attention immediately because we live locally. My housekeeper cleans the house thoroughly before and after each guest. We power wash the outside at least twice per year and when areas in the house need attention we provide it. Items that get heavy use are replaced at least once per year or more often if needed. We take pride in having a comfortable well stocked home that guests can come to for rest and relaxation.

This house was perfect for our family holiday. Spacious, well stocked (everything we needed for the kitchen, kids and the beach). Very comfortable beds with really nice linens. The lanai added so much living space and we spent most of our time out there. Quiet location so it's perfect for napping. Short and safe walk to the beach. Great outdoor shower and laundry facilities. We would recommend this house to anyone and will definitely be going back. Aloha!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
