  I took this mini vacation to get some much needed rest and to de-stress. However, the stay here just added to my stresses. While we stayed here there was a water disaster in the kitchen and we had water seaping from the faucet onto the kitchen floor. We used every towel available to clean up the mess. We notified the owners as soon as the problem began. The owners assured us that they were going to get a plumber out. When we left, two days later, we still had not seen or heard from a plumber. We did get a text back from them once saying they were working on geting a plumber. But that was only because we called them a couple times wanting to know what was going on. They explained to us they were trying to have a vacation as well in Hawaii. We were unable to wash dishes or use the kitchen sink to clean up the kitchen for our entire stay, since we did not know what the plumbing issue was. We did receive a text from the owenrs that they would send over a housecleaner to clean the kitchen for us at 11:15 am the morning we were supposed to check out by noon. However, we were already packed up and gone, just wanting to leave this terrible mess behind us. I will say that before the stay, the owner was very accomodating and easy to get ahold of. But not so much afterwards.

  Owner response: I picked up the phone immediately when guest called and reported the problem, it was 1/2 cup water, not a flood, or I would found her another place to stay. I offered to have the housekeeper to come over and help her with the dishes. Plumbers priorize emergencies and this was not an emergency.

  We had a great time staying at the cabin. It was super clean, spacious and had excellent views. Easy to find, close to highway and not too far from town. Will definetly be staying here again !

  the stay @ the cabin was great we had a great time,could not get heater to work other than that had a good time

  The house was clean and just like the pictures. The view from the balcony was amazing and, just like all the other reviews mentioned, the visits from the birds and squirrels were our highlights. My husband and i took our 70 and 80 year old moms and they had a delightful time relaxing and walking around the town of Idyllwild. We were completely satisfied!

  Cabin was OK. Fairly quiet. Packaging trash under second bedroom bed and the internet did not work which was very inconvenient. Laptops connected to the router, but Time Warner blocked access because money is owed on the owner's account (according to their customer service dept.). We definitely needed internet access and rented this cabin because it advertised internet access, which is still shown on listing as of 1/11/2013 Received email from owner about these issues and she offered to compensate, but have not heard anything since.

  Owner response: Issues were resolved with Time Warner Cable and Tenant - informed Housekeeper of food wrapper found under bed.

  The cabin was exactly as advertised; we had 2 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of space for hanging around and sleeping, etc. The floorplan is nice, with a spacious kitchen/living room/dining room, all with knotty pine walls to give it thaat rustic "cabin" feeling. The firplace worked well and the kitchen had all the tools you would need or expect to cook. Idyllwild is only a short 3 miles away which was convenient for a couple of day excursions. The owner was nice and helpful when I spoke to her, and seems to really enjoy owning a rental cabin, which added to the experience. My only complaint, which is minor, is that the bed in the master is extremely creaky. Other than that, it was exactly what we expected, and I would definitely stay again.

  My sister and I rented the cabin for the month of August and split our time there. For myself, 90% of the time was spent on the fabulous deck. Loved the cooler weather (coming up from La Quinta) and feeding the birds and squirrels. BBQ was great, view is lovely. Cabin is comfy and cozy and has everything you need. My one and only small criticism, since we were there for a month, of course it was up to us to keep the place clean....the vacuum needs to be replaced, it did not work well at all :( Such a tiny thing though compared to everything else that was just awesome. Thank you!

  The cabin is in Pine Cove which is a few miles from Idyllwild. We prefer to be away from the town of Idyllwild as sometimes it can be noisy when special events are taking place. Although the surrounding houses are close by, the local residents seem to respect quietness as we didn't hear any outside music at all, just the occasional barking dog. The cabin is nicely laid out with an open kitchen to the family room and the kitchen is well equipped. Master bed comfy, but the 2nd bed could be better. The deck is spacious and gets the morning sun so even in october, it was nice enough to enjoy coffee outside. Property is nicely maintained. A few cobwebs here and there (afterall you are in a heavily treed area) but a quick sweep with the broom around the doorways and we were fine. Overall a very nice stay.

  Recommended for: Age 55+.

  I had a Great Time at the Cabin during our Christmas Vacation. It was Two Familes four Adults and two children and it was so Very Relaxing to be able to get away for the Holidays and spent some time with your Family and Great Friends. We did go to town once but it was a short visit due to our friend that she was 8 months pregnant, but looking at the Birds, Squirrels and watching the sunset and sunrise was Beautiful! I would recommend this cabin to Families our even just Couples :) It really does make you feel at Home.

  We absolutely LOVED our weekend retreat, it made us want to retire here. The cabin was clean as a whistle, the kitchen completely stocked for all cooks and the new television and couches are a nice upgrade from the last time we stayed here. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning. We spent all daylight hours on the deck with the wonderful view of the trees and BLUE BLUE skies. The squirrels and blue jays never fail to impress us with their bravado in "stealing" the nuts we brought for them. The quiet atmosphere was so relaxing. Thank you Patti for another wonderful weekend. We will certainly be back much sooner than we waited to come back this time.
