Relaxing Family Vacation

My wife and I, our 2 year old daughter, and our two good friends decided to stay in Rio Verde for a much needed week long vacation. We chose Rio Verde, as it was an area that I often visited when I grew up (My grandparents lived in Rio Verde for 20+ years). We chose to spend the entire week relaxing at the pool, relaxing on the patio, eating good food, and playing golf. A couple of highlights... Owner - She was incredible to work with and very quick to respond to all of the questions that we had for her. Golf - We golfed Tonto Peaks course (good course for great price - twilight after 1:00); We-Ko-Pa Cholla course (As an avid golfer, I can say this is one of the top 5 courses I have ever played); TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course (Great course with great tradition; Suggest using GolfNow.com on the day of playing, as you can save a lot of $$ - we saved $125 on the round). We also played the Tonto Verde 18 hole putting course, which our daughter loved! House - Beautiful home with all of the amenities; Beautiful patio with a huge area to entertain/relax; Exactly what we were looking for in a home; Nice bonus of having a computer and WiFi to use at the home. Food - We stopped at the Safeway in Fountain Hills and bought most of our food for the entire week; We ate out twice: 1 - At Tonto Verde's Clubhouse: I would recommend going elsewhere, as the food was fair at best and the price seemed a little inflated. 2 - El Encanto in Fountain Hills: Great Mexican food, Great price, and great service! Pool - Rio Verde pool is amazing and relaxing. Although they have aquatic class from 9-10 everyday (you can still sit on the side of the pool during this time), we had plenty of time to swim and relax in the pool/hot tub. We did get kicked out of the Tonto Verde pool, as we tried to go one morning that we didn't golf - The owner of our property said they had a property in the Tonto Verde development, so we were good to go to that pool as well. Unfortunately, the staff at Tonto did not have our owner's name on an apparent "list" therefore we had to leave...No worries, we just went back to the Rio Verde pool. Besides being kicked out of the Tonto Verde pool and having sub-par food at the Tonto Verde Clubhouse for dinner, it was a 5-star experience and one that we will likely do again!

Linda, Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your beutiful home! It was the perfect place to stay while attending my son's wedding at Tonto Verde Park. The pictures were beautiful, but do not convey the peace and welcoming we experienced upong arrival. Ray and I had two days of peace and quiet that we desperately needed, then were joined by family member for three days. Your home was extremely clean and well-maintained. Even in the extreme heat of the day it was cool and comfortable. Thank you for being so gracious and returning our calls when I forgot to bring the lockbox number and when Ray accidently repeatedly pushed redial on his phone to dial his sister and finally realizing that he had been redialing you! The wedding was beautiful and the next day we took a day trip to Sedona, which was great fun. We had a wonderful time and would like to come back again some day.

Linda, We're on our way back to Edmonton, Alberta after spending a wonderful month here. We enjoyed the quiet backyard - bird watching and seeing the odd coyote. Our dog, Webster basked in the sunshine on the back veranda & enjoyed walking around the neighborhood & visiting with the other dogs in the area. We felt very comfortable in your home. Thanks, B & K

Linda, We certainly enjoyed being here rather than being in St Joseph, Mo during this time. St Joe has had snow almost every day in February! We have rent in this area for the last 8-9 years and your home was the best we have experienced. The fact that we could bring our dog - a big lab- was a plus! He loved it... learned about cactus quickly! He and two coyotes came eye to eye in the back yard... he ("Red") won the stand off! Thank you for sharing your home. D & T

Linda, Thank you very much for renting us your house. We left you a little gift that we brought back from Canada. Enjoy! The battery on the table is the one from the fire alarm in the bedroom (on the left). The battery was too low. Thank you again. Happy Thanksgiving! Copied from note left with wonderful Canadian "Turkey" maple syrup and Chocolates. PS. We replaced all the smoke alarm batteries. Bonjour Linda, We want to thank you again. My wife and friends had a good time in Rio Verde. Your home was the perfect place to stay during our golf trip in Arizona. We played the Vista Verde, the Tonto Verde, the We-Ko-Pa, both courses, the Gold Canyon and the Boulder... What a golf trip! We enjoyed your place so much that we never went out for breakfast nor diner. We took advantage of your place to relax... We have nothing to complaint about, everything was fine. Copied from email to me.

Hi Linda, Thanks for sharing your house. It exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed everthing here. Amazed at how private it seemed. Only improvement would be a light by the lockbox, but we made it work. Even though we didn't hold any parties here, you sure have it set up well for one. We had a great time just relaxing. Jan - Mar 2007 Hi Linda As you know we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your RV home! We look forward to returning in 2008. Hope your little lemon tree survives and the grapefruit are plentiful next year. Copied from home guest book Note: The lemon tree did survive, we did have to cut it back, but it still produced some fruit this spring They returned the following year and rented the property for 3 months.
