Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America (Located in the hip and centrally located Palermo barrio)
Accommodations: Townhouse, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 4)
Casa Palermo is your vacation townhouse in Buenos Aires. Completely renovated and redecorated (completed Dec, 2005), it is centrally located in old Palermo, an historic, but very hip quarter of Buenos Aires dominated by tree-lined streets, charming architecture, quaint cafes, stylish restaurants, art galleries, designer boutiques and quirky specialty shops.
Casa Palermo serves as a superior alternative to a hotel or apartment rental, for either vacation or business travelers. It is safe, convenient and quiet. Casa Palermo is spacious and comfortable, and best of all, you have an entire house to yourself. The house has an old-world ambiance with 15-foot ceilings in the main house, with 8 foot windows that open to a private courtyard where you can enjoy your breakfast al fresco. The bedrooms directly access a sun-drenched roof-top terrace. A fireplace gives the living room a central focus and it's a great place to unwind.
The decor is modern, however we have been very careful to preserve the original charm and architectural ambiance by retaining the antique wood floors and doors, as well as the tall windows, which flood the rooms with incredible light. As a counterpoint, the furniture is decidedly modern, with careful selections, such as Le Corbusier's leather Basculant Chairs (included in the permanent collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art) and similar sophisticated modern pieces, augmented by careful selections of fine art and objects. The layout of the house retains the traditional arrangement in which all the rooms open to either the courtyard (patio) or roof-top terrace. The atmosphere is private, elegant and serene. An oasis in the center of a vibrant, world-class city.
