My two best friends and I have made an annual pilgrimage to the Emerald Coast for the last 5 years. This was our first stay on Okaloosa Island but it won't be our last! Loved that their are only 27 units and staying on the ground floor.....no elevators and long treks to the beach!! Condo was very clean and had everything you could possibly want! Didn't bring my furry babies but would definitely consider it....loved seeing all the cute dogs the other guests had with them.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, pet owners.

My two girlfriends and I had a wonderful week long stay here. The accomodations are incredbible. It is neat, clean, nicely decorated, perfect location and the beach set-up and towels being provided is such a great perk!!! We love it and will definitely be back next year!!!

... because I'm not leaving!!! Actually, tomorrow we leave this beautiful condo-- Island Sands 103. Everything was PERFECT--- the location, the fact that it's right on the beach, the decor, the cleanliness, it's pet-friendliness, all the amenities. This condo is wonderful, and I am very sad that we have to leave tomorrow! We plan on coming back next April, and hope that Island Sands 103 will be available. It's been an amazing stay... I love it here... literally paradise-- Heaven on Earth! (The only thing I found wrong was that a few slats fall off the blinds on the right side windows.)

Island Dreamer ground floor, awesome stay!

My husband, daughter, brother and I stayed at Island dreamer over our spring break. We had an awesome experience. From contacting the vacation rental agency to make our reservations, to our stay, and then our communication afterwards these are just great people to work with. The listing is just as described and the pictures are just as it is. Note..it does not show how sparkling clean the unit is. Everything needed and more is included and there are numbers posted should you need anything. There were more than enough bath towels and even 6 very thick, nice beach towels. The washer and dryer was nice to dry towels or wash if you needed anything. Detergent was even there. I used more than once so bought some of my own and left it. I felt common courtesy. A dishwasher is also included so no time wasted doing dishes. The unit is pet friendly and we were going to take our dog but ended up not. The unit in no way showed or smelled of any pets. So if you dont have any dont let this scare you away. Pets are not allowed on the beach anywhere though so remember that if bringing one. Other people had dogs but we never heard them. The unit is extremely quiet. The unit is literallly steps away from the beach. The sand is gorgeous. Looks like snow. And the beach is a gorgeous blue. We had beach service which included two chairs and an umbrella. The attendants were great in answering any questions we had and they also rented a few beach "toys" We loved going to the boardwalk in Destin. Maybe a 15 minute drive. Lots of bars, shops and tours. We took the sunset dolphin tour and enjoyed it immensely. I have rented thru VRBO numerous times and have never had such a perfect, helpful, cheerful experience. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. We would like to stay again and hopefully will be able to. This unit is rented out almost all year. Not suprisingly with the condition, location, and ammenities not to forget the friendly service. If you are thinking of renting anything from this rental agency please dont hesitate. They will not let you down. Thank you Kim and friends for making our vacation so relaxing. We didnt want to come home and definately will come back.

My husband and I stayed at the condo 11/20-11/26/10. The photographs do not do this place justice. Everything was perfect--it was very homey and comfortable, and even though on the first floor, surprisingly private. The condo was immaculate and well maintained, as was the entire property. Our favorite restaurant was the Black Pearl at the Boardwalk: their wood-fired seafood was wonderful and reasonably priced. And Kim made the transaction smooth and hassle-free. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation.

Perfect condo, super clean and well decorated. We had a wonderful getaway (from Ohio) and even swam in the ocean. Great patio and only a few steps up to the boardwalk to the beach. The ground level unit is so easy and convenient. Comfortable bed and plenty of nice towels-lots of special touches. We loved it.

Our Perfect Vacation

We stayed 8-2-10 thru 8-6-10. This was a very awesome place. Being able to walk out back door to boardwalk right on beach was great. The ground floor was great since we took our minuture Dauschand and he was able to be with us. The only thing was view was of sand dunes instead of Gulf, but all you have to do is walk to boardwalk which is only steps away to have a great view. All the little extra's Kim thinks of is wonderful and the close proximity of resturants and Destin only 6 miles was great. It was very quiet and relaxing here. Not the hustle of a bigger area. I am already looking at booking more time here hopefully before the year end. I will stay again and thanks Kim for the ease of working with you.

I stayed at the condo from May 27-31st. Had never been to Ft. Walton and can't wait to go back. The condo is spotless and close to everything, especially the beach!! It was wonderful to be sitting on the beach by 8:00 AM with my morning coffee. Everything you need is there so all I had to do was throw my suitcase in the car and leave my cares behind. The beach was clean, the water was refreshing and the people I met could not have been nicer.

We just stayed at Island Dreamer for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The condo is beautiful and the beaches are crystal clear. It is great to walk out on the ground floor and be at the beach in 30 seconds. The beach chairs and umbrella were such a convenience. We just stayed at the Island Dreamer and had a great time. The condo was furnished beautifully and the beach and water were crystal clear. We loved this condo on the Beach!Very clean, plenty of towels-beach towels included. Beach service was wondeful, no having to pack beach chairs and towels, Bed was comfortable. Back porch was great for catching a breeze. We will be back!

We stayed here in Oct 2009 with our friends on our First Annual Trip to FWB. I'm long overdue for this review, but I was going through pictures- I can't say enough good things. The Island Dreamer was so comfortable. The bed and the couches were cozy, there was room for a playpen, the bar was perfect for games and drinks, and it saved us space not having to pack beach towels! It was SO nice to mosey out the back door to get to the beach. We have already made the deposit with Kim for our Third Annual trip!!! (At a different property due to growing families!) Long story short, we were unable to rent from Kim on our 2nd Annual trip- and I was very disappointed- I have been spoiled by the perfect condo!

We were thrilled to return to the Island Sands condo on Okaloosa Island. It was just as perfect as we remembered. The condo is just like a home away from home. The beach was beautiful and the water was sparkling clear. We had so much fun collecting shells, playing in the ocean, and just relaxing on the beach. We can't wait to return. What a GREAT condo! This was our first time staying at the Island Dreamer and we will definitely be returning next year! This condo had so many extras that it was simply unreal! As parents of two young children, the location of being ground level, and easy entry to the beach were priceless! Even on a cool day, we were able to relax on our patio, in the nice patio furniture provided, while our kids played outside, or in! The pool was a blessing as well! the beach attendants were well informed of the area, as well as appropriately interactive with our son and daughter. The beach was very clean, quiet, and there were so many families with young children. We thoroughly appreciated the chance to stay in your condo, Kim and look forward to Spring Break '10 with you!

I have stayed in Kim's sunset dreamer and the island dreamer condo both were absolutely wonderful. I plan to stay here every chance I can. It is close enough to all the resturants and activities but far enough away that you have peace and quite when you need it. I think anyone would be pleased with the condos and enjoy there stay. I only hope it doesn't get too popular or I won't get a reservation.

Kimberly, We recently stayed in Island Dreamer at the end of October. We were amazed and impressed with how cute and well stocked the condo was. Our friends brought their 15 month old baby and we had everything we needed for her as well!! Sippy cups, a play pen, plenty of fun toys to keep her occupied!! The kitchen was stocked above and beyond, and the quick walk to the beach was just the cherry on top!! We really enjoyed how close we were to everything in Destin, restaurants, shopping, the pier. One of the better trips we've taken to Destin in a long time. Thanks for keeping up the condo, the decor is really cute, and fun. WE definately recommend Mcguires in Destin!!! Soooo good!! and the black pearl was awesome!!! Thanks again we will definately be returning soon! We have found our new spot!!

My family and I had the opportunity to stay here for several days in August. It was perfect! There are 5 of us, and there was plenty of room. This condo was as perfect as it gets. Wonderful location, no stairs to climb, soft green grass to walk on to get to the beach access (just a few yards away). Neighbors were very friendly. Our 5-year old daughter had a blast and made plenty of friends, as did we. We alternated between the beach and the pool during the days. The beach was great, and the pool was extremely refreshing. The condo was clean and perfectly appointed. There were pleasant surprises at every turn, including a huge supply of wonderful towels and lots of videos and games. We'll be back!

My daughters and I had been mulling around taking a long weekend trip to Ft Walton and finally on 4/23 I called some rental companies to check on prices and availability. Fortunately, Kim had the Island Dreamer available and we reserved it for the weekend April 27-30. From the second we drove up and saw that it was a smaller building with easy access to the beautiful beach theme inside, we were hooked! There wasn't one thing we wished it had that it didn't already have! The 1st floor balcony allowed my 3-year old grandson to be able to play in the grass. The beach service was great and having high-speed internet was the cherry on top! Can't say enough good things about the condo and Kim's service. My husband and I stayed in this condo in September of 2006 for one week. The condo is great and the beach is beautiful. The condo is very clean, comfortable and has everything you need to prepare meals. The beach chairs that get set up for you daily are very relaxing and the crystal, clear blue water is refreshing. It's just a short drive into Destin where you can find fun activities (i.e. fishing, sailing, boat rentals, mini golf, etc.) and good restaurants. I'd highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a nice place to get away and relax!

We rented this condo for our retired parents. They loved being on the ground floor and so close to the beach. The setup/size of the condo was perfect for them and they enjoyed how bright and conscious everything was. They especially enjoyed the little patio that felt private enough for them and many times out of any wind and in full sun to "catch those rays!" Kim was great to work with and was always available to us. Thanks a million! We'll be back!

My husband and I stayed in the Island Dreamer Aug. 20th through 27th. This condo is as nice as any on the island. It's very clean and convenient. Everything is new and the beach REALLY IS just steps away. I have no hesitation about recommending it to my friends and family. As a matter of fact, my son is getting married this weekend (Sept. 9) and they are planning to book for next summer too. We absolutely loved the condo. The decorations and set up were great for the kids. Wonderfully adorable. We stayed from April 17 through April 21. It was great being able to walk straight onto the beach and every one was so nice. We'll be back next year.

This condo was absolutely fabulous. We stayed from March 5th through March 11th, 2006 and the weather was great. The unit is right on the sand and the owner kindly furnished us with lounge chair and umbrella service. It really made us feel pampered. The condo building is fairly small, three stories with 27 units in all. It is located towards the end of the public section of the island. A short walk bring you onto the military section of the island with lovely deserted beaches. The condo building also has a fairly large pool with a charcoal grill. There is a nice grocery store right across the bridge back to Fort Whalton which had great steaks and fresh fish. Although there are many close restaurants, my wife and I enjoyed preparing one meal a day and eating on the patio right on the beach. The unit itself has a living room with two sofas and double sliders right on the sand. We slept with the sliders open to hear the waves and feel the breeze. All in all, we had a wonderful time and I hope will be returning to Kim's condo next Spring.

For the last 23 years my husband and I have been coming to Florida by ourselves or with our children and this is one of the nicest places that we have stayed at. We could not have asked for a sweeter owner and Kim is wonderful to work with. We love the fact that the condo is right on the beach and that we are just steps away from Florida's beautiful waters. Also another reason that we love this place so much is the fact that it is not a high-rise and it has more of a homey feeling, Kim has the condo decorated so cute and anything that you could need is there. This was the most wonderful vacation we have ever had in Florida. The condo is absolutely beautiful, pristinely clean and at an absolutely fabulous location...close to shopping and nightlife, yet literally right on the sand, just a few steps from the water. We could see our beach chairs and umbrella (included in the rental!) from our seat at the kitchen island while having lunch. We recently spent a week in the Bahamas, and it didn't even come close to the fun we had on this amazing beach. We are currently booking our vacation for 2006 at the Island Dreamer...we'll be return guests for years to come! Thanks so much Kim for a perfect family vacation!

Kim you have provided the perfect place. We were anxious to see everything after IVAN, and you have done a wonderful job restoring the condo.
