Quiet Stay in Laie

I found this a perfect place to stay while vacationing on Oahu. I wanted a nice and relaxing vacation away from all the hustle and that is what I go. Of course we did venture into Waikiki and Honolulu to get that experience as well and as long as you avoid rush hour the drive is not too long and it's very beautiful. Another reviewer said everything closes early in the area but we were in Honolulu one night and everything there closed early, too. It was much better staying in this studio than a hotel and the room was clean and adequate for our needs. Another huge bonus for me is that is was only a couple blocks away from where my brother lives! I loved going to Bikini Beach and to Laie Point and experiencing all it's beauty. I will defintely be recommending this place to my parents who will be visitng Oahu in the winter.
Owner response:We loved having you in our rental and are so happy you enjoyed it. Laie is such a beautiful place and we enjoy sharing it with people from around the world.

The first review on this rental is very mean spirited. I am extremely happy that we stayed at this rental. We stayed the entire month of February. There is an umbrella above the outside table. The ac unit is no louder than any other unit. I'm glad it was there. Being Tom Alaska we needed it The point at the end of the street was beautiful. The access to the beach is literally one house over and down some stairs carved into the walk. I found a Japanese floating glass ball on this beach one morning. This beach also is great for snorkeling. I cannot say enough about this rental. We seldomly heard anyone in the attached house. It was very comfortable, the private courtyad was nice and we never saw anyone in the window of the kitchen because the curtains were closed. We plan on staying here again. The only thing wrong with any of this is that we only vacationed for a month. It was 80 degrees everyday. When we got back to Alaska it was 20 degrees. We enjoyed our stay and hope others will have a wonderful as time as we have.
Owner response:We are constantly updating and making improvements to better serve out tenants. We have recently added mirrored closet doors and new tropical plants to the courtyard to enhance the Hawaii experience. We have many couple stay with us for their honeymoon, and many return guests as well.

Convenient Location for Polynesian Cultural Center and Kualoa Ranch

For the price, this is a very adequate place to sleep in a very convenient location. Unfortunately, this side of the island "closes" on Sundays, and early in the evening, so when it's time to relax back at your location, that's where the issue comes in. We were here in May 2010. The window A/C unit is in the window above the bed that is shown in the photo. It was loud enough that it made it difficult to sleep. Also, the patio area described and pictured here is now a table and chairs, no covering and since it provides a perfect view into the home owner's kitchen, it makes it a little hard to relax if you aren't comfortable staying with strangers. This is essentially an extra room and bath, outside of the bathroom window is the family's pool area, and there is a locked door that you can hear the family having dinner, and see light through, which made it a very unromantic situation for my husband and I. The location was 5 minutes or less from the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was also convienent for our day at the Kualoa Ranch. So, definite kudos there. For the price, as long as you realize you are staying in someone's guest room, it's fine.

Jerry and I really enjoyed our stay at your studio apartment. It was just perfect for our activities at the North Shore and for our two day visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Thank you for providing such a well equiped property at a reasonable price.

Marci and Richard, We just want you to know how much we enjoyed staying with you this past weekend. We had such a great time, and it was very much a God ordained trip for us. We had our trip planned and mostly booked, and then Val got some news regarding her health that we thought we might have to cancel. It turned out that we could go ahead with our planned trip, and boy did we ever need it by that time! Val was diagnosed with breast cancer and actually underwent surgery yesterday. She is up and doing very well, feeling blessed. The whirlwind of decisions and well-meaning people offering advise and giving support over the 2 weeks prior to out trip, was something we needed to escape from for the few days we spent with you, We are so thankful for that timely vacation break. Again, thank you for allowing us the time in your home, even extra time! We appreciate you both. Blessings, Val and Mark Willman
