Son of a Sailor is a beautifully professionally decorated condo located in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Your hosts, Dennis and Betty, purchased the condo in Dec. 2011 and have remodeled for you and your family to enjoy. The condo is named for your hosts' fathers who served in WWII and love boating and sailing.
Each room radiates the colors of the tranquil waters of the gulf and white sandy beaches that Gulf Shores is so widely known for both vacations and second homes. Son of a Sailor is located on the 6th floor close enough to hear the ocean waves or see your children running along the shore or playing in the pool below.
The condo is designed to comfortably sleep 4 people if you use the pull out queen sofa bed or the two bunk beds tucked neatly inside the hallway. The main bedroom and bath have all of the look, feel and amenities of a resort spa hotel by the beach. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances and dishes (glass and plastic) and linens that give you the experience of a coastal kitchen cottage. The patio is close by for a quiet cup of coffee overlooking the waters of the gulf in the morning or an intimate dinner at night.
The family room and kitchen have an modern cottage open design so that you have the advantage of viewing the ocean from any point in the room or if you choose you can watch your favorite movie on a 32” flat screen HDTV and DVD.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo
You will love waking up each morning to the beautiful view of the gulf and watching the sunsets from the balcony each evening. The ocean breeze and patio provide a quiet place to take a nap or read a book. You can walk to some of the resturants and activities but the west beach still provides the calm and quaint look of a small beach town. You feel safe riding a bike, a scooter or taking a walk down the beach. Little Lagoon is just across the street and a few blocks down the road. The minute you arrive at Seacrest a calmness takes over and you are on island time.

This was our first beach vacation together and it was perfect! I can't say enough about the condo, the location, the owners... Everything was just great. When we first walked into "Son of a Sailor" we immediately began to relax and feel at home. The 6th floor balcony offers the perfect view of the ocean and it provided a great place for us to relax, read a book, or eat dinner. The lounge chair on the balcony was great to have as well. The condo was perfectly clean on arrival and the appearance and décor of the condo is even better in person than what's reflected in the photos (hard to believe, I know). We didn’t use the bunk beds, but they would be perfect for children. We had a guest for a few nights and he used the pull-out couch. Clean sheets, blankets and pillows were ready for its use. The private parking spot was very nice. Never had to worry about finding a spot and it made loading and unloading very convenient. A great local restaurant, Bahama Bob's, is just right down the road (we ate there a lot) and almost directly across the street is a little convenience store and a fresh seafood shop where you can get great steamed shrimp! The location of Seacrest is great because you’re off the beaten path, but not so far that driving to restaurants or souvenir shops is a task. You’re less than 10 minutes away from most everything (including Wal-Mart). I can't compliment the owners enough... They quickly responded to each and every question I had. We sort of had a unique situation where bad weather (Tropical Storm Ike) was threatening to ruin our week at the beach. The owners worked with us and understood our situation and we were able to switch weeks and avoid the bad weather. I would DEFINITELY rent from them again. Thank you for everything! We look forward to coming back soon!

This was our first family vacation and it was PERFECT! The condo was beautifully decorated and had a magnificent view of the ocean. The pictures are exactly what you get. Of course the view is just not describable in a picture, it is breathtaking. Our two little one's loved the bunk beds! It was perfect for kids...of course they had to rotate who would be on the top bunk. The condo was stocked with everything we could have needed...one suggestion would be to list everything that you do have in the kitchen etc for renters to know really everything you do have. It made cooking very easy and allowed us more family time on the beach. It was very clean and well maintained. You can tell your manager Missy takes very good care of the place! Dennis and his wife were so easy to communicate with before we arrived and even while we were there. Thank you for that! I would strongly recommend Bahama Bob's right down the street from the condo. The food is excellent! Thank you again and we will definitely be back!

Our family vacations in Gulf Shores every year, but this was our first time to rent via VRBO. We could not have been more pleased! This "beach cottage" is beautifully decorated and offers the mood of tranquility and relaxation from the moment you step inside the door. It offers many comforts of home - from the comfy bed, to the well-stocked kitchen. It accommodated our family's needs perfectly! Your condo was everthing we expected and more! It would definetly be a great ROMANTIC get away. Not just for a couple though. Myself, mother and 3 teenagers were very comfortable in this condo. The bedroom had a wonderful bed and beding. bunkbed was comfortable for my son. My 2 daugherters enjoyed sleeping on sofa bed and watching 32 in. flat screen late at night. Beechchairs and umbrella were a big plus to have included. We would leave our beechchairs in the trunk of our car instead of having to cary them up to the condo each night. Having a parkinkig spot so close to the elevator, pool, and beech made this so convienient. The personel book with entertainment recomendations was a big help. We also enjoyed the view across the street that we had every time we went to and from our condo. Being in a quiet area and still close to the entertainmet, shoping, and restraunts was great. I hope we will be able to visit gulf shores again. And we world love to stay in your condo again. Thank you and Always God Bless! Grandmother, mother, and 3 teens

This was our first time in your beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama. We really enjoyed celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary here. We were really surprised with your personal touch! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful beach cottage. It looked exactly like the pictures. It was very well decorated, very clean, and had every amenity that you could want. The desk was really nice to be able to use my laptop with the Wi-Fi connection in your unit. We also really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the mornings and late evenings; it was very peaceful. We had beautiful sunny days, and it was also nice to use your beach chairs. The Son of a Sailor felt like a home away from home. It was wonderful to have so many amenities that you made available to us. We loved the beautiful views, the sounds of the Gulf, and the easy access to the beach. Enjoyed private parking space too! There were also great places to shop and eat close by. We will certainly recommend your condo to friends and family, and we also hope to return. Thanks again for an enjoyable vacation.
