In Need of Updates

The building is in a great location & the unit comes with several extras that make a holiday enjoyable, like boogie boards & beach chairs. We also found everything we needed in the kitchen. The sunsets are beautiful & the roof top patio is a convenient & enjoyable perk. The unit itself seems very drab & is in need of some renovations, particularly the bathrooms. There's good reason why you do not see any pictures of the shower/toilet room that's in the master on-suite as the shower looks like it's 30 years old with built in grunge & wall-paper in the room from who knows when. The shower in the main bathroom is also very old. The place is also in need of a fresh coat of paint along with some patches to the walls & some new light switches (in the dining room the switch for the light is completely broken off & you have to turn a tiny "stick" to have light over the kitchen table on). The couch has also seen better days & to me looks like it's been clawed a bit by a cat. The kitchen is in good shape & the unit does have wi-fi, which helps to make up for the ancient t.v. The unit was clean. We wouldn't stay in this unit again, but would consider some renovated units in this building as there are many positive aspects to staying here. We rented the unit through the Kamaole Beach Royale Office rather than directly through the owner.

Owner response:This guest did not book thru VRBO and never contaced owner-Entire unit has been remodeled since 2005 including kitchen, bathrooms, toilets, sinks, flooring (all travertine), furniture ( the above reference couch was just replaced in December 2010 see previous review) & cabinets- The showers and tubs have not been replaced as they are not worn and they are clean- it is very hard to take a picture of a bathtub- Note all other reviews are fine- I guess you cant please everyone- Broken light switch will be replaced

We had a fabulous time

We stayed in this condo unit recently and had a fabulous vacation in Hawaii. The condo is exactly as shown,although they have recently switched the couch in the unit and I believe the new one no longer has a pull-out sofa sleeper. The condo was very clean. Most features of the unit are great, and in particular, the view is wonderful and the lanai is where we spent a lot of time. It is amazing to be able to lay in bed and watch the sunset if you choose to! Other features of the unit could use a bit of updating - the tv is quite old and the dvd player does not work. The kitchen was quite well stocked - the only thing we found to be lacking was that on the day we decided to make a pizza there was no cheese grater and no pizza cutter! Other than that, it had basically everything we needed other than some bbq utensils. The 7th floor bbqs were great and the views up there were very nice as well. The unit has a bunch of boogie boards, great beach chairs, some pool noodles, great towels, and a very convenient washer and dryer. The wi-fi was very handy as well. Thanks for sharing your great condo with us.

Great Place to stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kamaole Beach Royale. The condo was on the third floor overlooking the ocean and the sunsets were amazing. On the 7th floor is a large eating area with BBQ's and a fabulous view of the sunsets. The condo is very clean and comfortable. There are two large bedrooms and a sofa bed in the family room. The master bedroom overlooks the ocean and has a huge bathroom. The kitchen is compact but very efficient and very modern looking. We really liked how the condo was so well equipped with pool and beach equipment and right next door is a Dive company for renting snorkels etc. Lots of yummy restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely return soon!

Paradise get away

April -May 2010 Wonderfully relaxing two weeks in paradise. Great location to all kinds of services/activities in S.Maui. a short drive from the airport & Lahaina. We spent many happy hours snorkeling & sun bathing @ Kamahole Beach I & II just across the street After a few days, we don't want to do much else except watch the world go by. Definitely a very comfortable & relaxing accommodations for romance & vacation.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Great View & short walk to beach

I stayed with my girlfriends for 9 days. Perfect location. We could walk to everything; pizza, indian food, great fish at Cafe O'Lei, and delicious shave ice at the rainbow mall. The beach was right across the street and our unit had coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards and anything else we needed for fun in the sun. I would definitely come back and rent again. The rates were great.
