Seahorse Cottage is a lovingly restored wooden Caribbean style cottage. Moved several times, this 100-year old cottage has finally come to rest in Ramsbury, a short distance to the Nevis capital of Charlestown and shopping.
Prior uses include family home, art gallery, gift shop and artist studio -- this one bedroom cottage is now the perfect Caribbean hideaway with 1200 square feet of living space including covered verandahs. Throughout the cottage are louvered windows and high ceilings with fans. Seahorse Cottage has its own private gated entrance on 1 1/2 acres of mature garden. The western views from the verandah are of the Caribbean Sea and the nearby islands of St. Kitts, Statis, and Saba. Enjoy watching the ferries and cruise boats pull into the Charlestown harbor. The view fully captures the setting sun, and on that rare evening, the "Green Flash". At night, St. Kitts lights up like a jewel on the horizon. After a day at the beach, enjoy the outdoor jacuzzi while looking at the stars!

We've vacationed in the Eastern Caribbean for 20 years, Seahorse Cottage is truly one-of-a-kind. Maybe this isn't for everyone, but if you're looking for comfort, peace, tranquility and an old-fashioned "Caribbean the way it used to be" experience it would be hard to beat. Nevis is a very quiet place, once you settle into the local mellow rhythm it is intoxicating. This self-catering cottage itself is luxuriously equipped, scrupulously clean and well appointed, and the hosts are marvelous. We'll be going back every chance we get - we've stayed there five times in the last six years and can't wait to return.

We have visited Nevis every year since 1996 but it wasn't until we started staying in Seahorse Cottage that we felt we had found our place and we have rented it for at least two weeks every year since 2007. The house is spotless, totally charming and furnished with a comfortable and eclectic mix that reflects the travels, artistic talents and excellent taste of owners Henry and Kay Loomis. The gardens, Henry's specialty, are exquisite and provide privacy and a true tropical feel. We would not rent a place that didn't have a clear sunset view, and this one is superb, as is the deck from which you can watch the sun sink into the sea. The kitchen is well equipped--we seldom eat out--and the house has everything you need for a great Island holiday, including wifi now, which has made keeping in touch with home/office a breeze. Henry and Kay are wonderful, attentive but discrete hosts, there when you need them and invisible when you don't, who have helped us get to know Nevis even better and enjoy it all the more. If you want tranquility, privacy, comfort and a place that feels like the "real" Caribbean rather than a sanitized hotel version of it, Seahorse Cottage would suit you.

I have been to this little cottage twice now and have had a wonderful time. The living room and kitchen are so inviting and comfortable, the decor is quaint and very pleasing! There is a nice little jacuzzi out back that I read almost a whole book while sitting in it! The bedroom is comfortable and the bathroom is very nice. There is a nice front porch with a hammock and wonderful view. I highly recommend this place for a nice quiet getaway!
