We stayed for two weeks, through Easter week. David was extremely accommodating and his condo is lovely. It is exactly as described and has a stunning view. We plan to come back and would love to stay at David's place again if it is available.

Marina Lanais is a lovely clean secure property with underground parking. Our balcony view was spectacular. We didn't need air conditioning because the breezes kept the apartment at a perfect temperature. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable. The owner was very responsive and arranged visits to nearby Palamos island not to be missed. We would happily return.

Have been meaning to post this. David was a pleasure to work with. He met us at the car rental office and filled us in about the condo and attractions nearby. The condo has the most amazing view. We loved sitting outside on the balcony watching the pelicans fly right by us and kept the doors open to enjoy the constant sea breeze. The condo was very comfortable, safe and had everything we needed. We walked next door to the hotel and went to the water park. There is a nature preserve nearby that offers night tours that was very interesting. It was fun to watch the kayaks launch from the park in Las Croabas at sunset. Went to El Yunque for the day too. Don't miss La Estacion Restaurant for one of the best dinners ever, make sure to call for reservations.

I absolutely loved staying here. David was great he went out of his way to meet as at 4:00 am in the morning to give us the keys. It was all we expected it to be, comfortable and cozy all you have to bring is your tooth brush. The view from the balcony is breath taking. I will be looking forward on staying here again.

True to his word, David met us at the Enterprise car rental and was so pleasant. He gave us some recommendations for restaurants which proved true (sorry, can't remember the names!). Per previous reviews, the view is beautiful, apartment pleasant with some updates needed but did not detract, close to many things to do, As we were only here for a long weekend we only were able to do a few outings. Recommend El Yungue, the fort in San Juan, walking around Fajardo near BioBay excursions. If the moon is full, as it was for our trip, paying for the BioBay tour is not recommended by us...hardly any luminescence to justify cost even tho the kayaking was enjoyable. We would return if coming back to Puerto Rico and staying on that side of the island.

I stayed on my own in this apartment, leaving the responsibilities of a family, school, and work behind to just get away and have a moment to breathe. This was a perfect place to be! It was convenient to everything that you might want to get to if you rent a car. I will say, however, that a car was a must. I traveled as a woman on my own, which I know is not the way that most travel. Having said that, I must say that the apartment was worth every penny. I hiked in the rain forest a couple of days and took advantage of the fantastic beach at Loquillo a couple of days, both about 15 minutes up the street. A car is a must if you want to venture outside of the apartment, but the apartment is fantastic. The respite and ability to reflect and meditate that it provided with the sound of the waves and view of the blue waters was worth its weight in gold. I had to change my reservation a number of times before settling on a time that finally worked for me, and I could not have asked for a more accommodating person than David. Even after coming home to PR from Alaska and being jet lagged, he still wanted to show me Palomino Island and be available to make my trip as fantastic as possible. I cannot say enough about the ease of the rental. I had a fantastic time, even on my own, and would recommend this space to anyone. The cost is reflective of the value, and the view is second to none! I cannot say enough about the sound of the waves and watching the boats on the gorgeous water from the balcony. And everyone that I encountered on my trip was so friendly and beautiful. Gracias, David. ¡Tuve un tiempo maravilloso y aprecio todo!

We had a really good time on our vacation in Fajardo this year. We stayed in Condado in 2010 but Fajardo is closer to a lot of exciting things. I would suggest getting a rental car. Most activities are a short car ride (and bring GPS). Also, there is free parking with a security guard around the clock watching who comes in/out. The ferry is about 10-15 minutes drive from the condo to see beautiful Culebra (or Vieques). The most beautiful beach I've ever seen! We heard so much about the Bio Bay and it's definitely worth the money (about $40). There are only a few of these in the world so you can't pass this up! It's also less than a 5 minute walk from the condo. Luquillo Beach is not far away as well. The Rainforest was a 20-30 minute drive but also something that you must do during your stay. We could lay on the bed a hear the waves everynight when we went asleep. It's almost as if your on the beach it sounds so close! We visited El Conquistador almost everyday. There are shops, restaurants, amazing views, pools, casino, water park, and entertainment for all. El Conquistador is literally a 3 minute walk which is convenient. David is very helpful and accomodating. You definitely get your moneys worth for the condo. It has all the immenities you need and it's private with a keyed elevator for security. The only negative I have is the lack of towels (which you can get extra from El Con.) and the door handle broke the last day which I assume David fixed. I would suggest getting groceries for the room because the resort can be expensive. Many small restuarants down the road with affordable dinners and lunch. Unlike many condos or vacation rentals - David is a reliable, helpful resource that you can call on at anytime. Overall, it's a safe, comfortable, and affordable condo that will provide a great experience. Thanks again David!
Owner response:Thank you for your review, hope to see the 2 of you in the near future. Regards David

We had an amazing week in Puerto Rico! This little condo was perfect for a vacation with my two closest girlfriends. My favorite part was the sound of the waves crashing at night..it really doesn't get much better than that and I doubt you can even hear them like that from the Conquistador Hotel next door! The price was unbeatable. The location was perfect.. about a 5 minute drive to the ferry that takes you to Vieques or Culebra, and close to Seven Seas Beach (its walkable, but takes about 20-25 minutes through the Fajardo neighborhoods. Fajardo is a little run down, but we felt very safe and walked to a few of the little restaurants nearby during our stay. There is a little marina and you can take a walk by the water, chat with the fishermen.. there are a few vendors set up for the tourists and you can take a kayak trip out to the fajardo biobay from right there too. Nearly every day we stopped at the Costa Linda restaurant for one of Omar's awesome pina coladas, and by the time we left we felt like locals. :) We rented a car for the week of course, parking in the condo garage was easy and convenient. We didn't do any cooking in the apartment but the tiny kitchen seemed to have whatever you might need. We definitely made use of the little coffeemaker and the blender! The full size refrigerator was great too. The water pressure in the shower was nice and strong, although with 3 girls in the apartment there wasn't a ton of hot water to go around. There's a collection of dvds and after a full day on the beach and a big meal, we would usually pop in a movie and relax with the balcony doors open, the sound of the waves and an ocean breeze. We spent the $20 for the wireless internet for the week and it was a great idea, and it worked perfectly from the moment we arrived with no problems whatsoever. The apartment is modest, but its clean and cozy. Don't let the bars on the front door scare you.. we locked it everyday and every night but never felt unsafe. Everyone was friendly and laid back. David was great, he met us at the airport with keys and directions and a parking pass, and he answered his phone every time I called him (which was only a couple times, the first being when I immediately lost the directions to the condo!) I would definitely recommend this rental and will stay again the next time I visit Fajardo. There was so much to do and not enough time for it all! Thanks so much David!! :)

The initial contact together with advance information from the owner gave us confidence that this first time renting and staying in PR would be pleasant. We were not disappointed. Directions to the apartment were precise and accurate, what we got was what we had read and expected. The owner was always available to help but not intrusive. When the web went down it was fixed promptly..The location was superb and provided hours of pleasure boat and nature watching. Thank you

My husband and I stayed at this condo in March of 2011. For the price you can't beat it. It was convenient to lots of activities. At night when they are running the biobay tours, which you should definitely do, there was a vendor selling this amazing spicy chicken on a stick for real cheap. I dream about that chicken now that I am home. lol We went to the Rainforest, drove a couple hours to check out Cueva Ventana also amazing, found a guy that did scuba diving near by, and the mini boat snorkeling tour. A few times at night we went to hang out at the Luquillo Kiosks to drink beers and play pool, met some pretty cool ex pats. We went into San Juan to check out the fort but other than that didn't like San Juan. We drove around and found some cool beaches off the beaten path. I could go on and on. I can't wait to go back to Puerto Rico and when we do I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days during our vacation to Puerto Rico. It was a lovely place with an amazaing view. Plenty of room and very clean. (And the free parking was a very nice touch!) David was very helpful - meeting us at the airport and answering all of our questions. The condo is very convienient to beaches (though not walking distance) and you can walk on to the EL Conquistidor Resort. We were slightly off season, so most of the near by restaurants were closed - but they look good!

I was looking for oceanfront apartment with a reasonable price, I did not expect a place so close to the ocean that actually you can hear the waves from any place of the apartment, you can even see the sea from the bathroom door. Its great to get to sleep hearing the waves hitting the shore. They have so many things to do close by the condominium like the Light house 3 minutes from Marina Lanais Condominium,Las Cabezas de San Juan Natural Reserve. Located on 445 acres of land acquired and maintained by The Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico, the reserve is named after three promontories that jut out into the Northern Atlantic – “cabeza” meaning headland. Even though the reserve is located in a somewhat limited area it is an incredibly diverse and scientifically important tract of land. Seven distinct coastal ecosystems are featured including: coral reefs, sandy beaches, sub-tropical dry forests, rocky coasts, mangrove forests, sea grass beds and one of the few bioluminescent bays in the world. The main tour is a two-hour trolley ride that guides you along the reserve with three stops of interest. Among those are the boardwalk trail through a mangrove forest, Playa Lirios, and El Faro de Fajardo. Situated on the highest point of Cape San Juan, the stone building was the second lighthouse erected on the island by the Spanish. Officially lit on May 2, 1882, it has been operating uninterrupted to this day. Inside you’ll find various exhibits related to the lighthouse’s history and surrounding wildlife, as well as an elaborate cast-iron staircase that ascends to the central lantern. The observation deck offers breathtaking views as trade winds gently blow by. 7 seas= No visit to Puerto Rico would be complete without visiting some of its beautiful beaches. Seven Seas Beach, located 1 mile from the condo, is a gem waiting for your discovery. And since it’s a Balneario, it has gated parking, facilities, and lifeguards. New in 2007, it has been awarded the Blue Flag label. This designation ensures good water quality, safety and service. They will fly flags noting the water conditions- swimming is only allowed when the green flag is flying.Seven Seas is a lovely, small, crescent-shaped beach, with soft sand and palm trees that provide some protection from the sun. There is a coral reef some distance from the beach, making a natural wave break. This makes for a nice protected beach, with calm waters that the whole family can enjoy. I highly recommend this studio

We had a great time in Puerto Rico and at the condo. David met us at the car rental with the keys, instructions and suggestions for our stay. He was most helpful. The condo was just right for us. We enjoyed the balcony and the beautiful views, the easy access to lots of things to do. Loved the beaches, rainforest and biobay tour. We also enjoyed a great day in Old San Juan and the fort. Puerto Rico natives are so friendly. It is always nice to have the opportunity to dine in rather than eat every meal out and we took advantage of the kitchen most evenings. Fajardo and the condo helped us enjoy a true Puerto Rican experience. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

We have traveled extensively in the Caribbean, prefer to travel off the beaten path and seek a local experience. We recently spent a week at David's condo, based in part upon Trip Advisor reviews. David met us at the airport and was pleasant and helpful. The condo complex is adjacent to and formerly part of El Conquistador Hotel and an employee and delivery road is between the unit and the ocean. We were warned that the tile in the lobbies and halls was being replaced and to expect some dust but our next impression upon opening the entry door to the unit was the unemptied trash container and a rack full of dishes in the kitchen. When we rounded the corner, a small piece of food had fallen on the floor and was swarming with ghost ants. We spent a couple hours washing the dishes we would use for the week, dusting, cleaning the hair off the floor and scrubbing the bathtub walls. The ceiling fan blades had a thick layer of grime. There was little in the way of basic supplies such as toilet paper, paper plates or napkins, dish towels or bar soap so a trip to the grocery store was immediately necessary. We spent as little time as possible in the condo and, when we were there, the majority of our time was spent on the balcony enjoying the view. The unit is centrally located and there are plenty of dining options nearby if you don't feel like cooking. The price of rental is very reasonable. By way of suggestions, the unit could benefit from a thorough cleaning and reorganization of closet space so that cleaning supplies and other toxic materials are not stored near food, painting of scuffed walls and peeling paint, replacement of worn bedspreads and flat pillows, replacement of many burned out or undersized light bulbs, insect control so renters are not surprised by the giant palmetto bugs, and repair of the dropped ceiling over the vanity. For a small investment, this could be a very nice unit.
Owner response:I am sorry to hear about the cleaning lady did not did her job as required. I wish you had call me so I can send you another cleaning lady and fired the one who was in charge of the cleaning of your room, you are on vacation. Thank you for you review,. Regards

Wonderful! My husband & I stayed here for 10 days November 2009 and had the BEST time. The location is perfect - Fajardo has so much to do - swimming at Seven Seas beach, taking the tour in Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve, hiking in El Yunque National Rainforest, taking the ferry one day to Culebra & the next day to Vieques for the gorgeous beaches, kayaking the Biobay at night, eating in great local restaurants, and close by shopping areas. My husband loved sitting out on the balcony every evening enjoying his coconut rum drink and the beautiful view of the ocean and lapping of the waves. David, the owner is so NICE - he even meets you at the airport and is gives you information on anything you need. My husband & I go to the Caribbean every year and we have already told him that we are coming back here next year!
