All units at the Inchcape Seaside Villas stand for extravaganza in architecture and Caribbean lifestyle at its best. “House Seaside”, House Sunset, The Seaside Cottages, the Garden Apartment and the Coconut Studio are more than just a place to stay. Our accommodations let you experience the exotic mix, flavor and coziness of an old Caribbean plantation style property, serving today as beautifully located ocean front holiday homes, on the western end of the white sand beach of Silver Sands with it’s crystal clear and turquoise blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. “The Seaside-Cottages”, can be considered a fine example of beautifully designed and finished West Indian homes. The houses are framed by a natural garden of tropical plants and trees and its wooden decks and terraces on the ground and second floor level, just a few meters from the water’s edge, are responsible for breathtaking and unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea. The Inchcape units truly are a wonderful experience.
Windsurfing: The spot to windsurf in Barbados is the area of Silver Sands, where the conditions are challenging yet forgiving and where circumstances are unbelievably convenient - and Inchcape is located right on the edge of Silver Sands beach.
You only rig up once and store your equipment just a few steps from the water. Shower, shade, relaxation area, everything combined right at your house, right on the spot, which is so unique. We have made it possible for you to enjoy this luxury windsurfing experience at our gorgeous vacation home, Inchcape in Silver Sands, on the Caribbean island of Barbados.
Sounds to good to be true?!? May be it does, but this dream will come true for you when you decide to come and stay with the people who discovered Silver Sands as a world class wave windsurfing spot. In 1978 Rosi and Wolfgang, your hosts at Inchcape, were the first people to ever sail at Silver Sands' reef formations.
Kitesurfing: Jim Drake, one of the inventors of windsurfing in the '70s, had already experimented with a wing, shaped like a hangglider, in the early stages of windsurfing... Time has gone by and the wing has become a kite which finally turned out to be an appropriate alternative for accelerating a surfboard using windpower.
Since kitesurfing really started taking off about two years ago, the still relatively small kitesurfing community learned quickly that special circumstances are needed to make kitesurfing a safe and enjoyable experience.
Barbados isn't only blessed with it's unique windsurfing conditions, it also proved to have some of the most ideal kitesurfing beaches possible. There are first of all the beaches around Inchcape, like Silver Sands and Silver Rock, which attract most of the kitesurfers. Brian Talma's Action Shop at Silver Rock is available for kitesufing lessons.
Surfing: When the world was created, Barbados was given an abundance of potential for becoming a surfer's paradise. The island's location far out in the Atlantic Ocean allows waves to travel thousands of kilometers on the bottom of the sea to finally unload all the power they developed during the long journey over Barbados' coral reefs.
As Barbados is a coral island, a coral reef stretches all around Barbados' coastline, providing for unlimited surfing conditions all over. No matter whether a swell approaches the island from a northerly or westerly direction or whether it's moving in from the East or the South, Barbados is guaranteed to have surf somewhere along it's shores at almost any given day of the year.
Also Inchcape is blessed with a surf break right in front of the property:
The shorebreak at Inchcape on the western end of Silver Sands beach is a pitchy shorebreak and can fit all sorts of descriptions, from mushy to super clean, it can be quite powerful or moderate and changes daily

“The Seaside-Cottages”, can be considered a fine example of a beautifully designed and finished West Indian home. All units stretch over two floors, having a loft bedroom and a terrace upstairs, living room, kitchen and bath downstairs. The windows are traditional and generous in size and allow incredible views of the ocean from the living- and bedrooms. The cottages are framed by a natural garden of tropical plants and trees and the view from it’s terraces is breathtaking and unobstructed. The interior is finished very upmarket and presents itself in an elegant but very Caribbean style, another reason why these units also cater to those who can appreciate architectural finesse which combined the mix of old and new perfectly. The Seaside Cottage comes with 70+ tv channels, stereo system with ipod dock, private tel. line, complementary high speed wireless internet access, a security guard and much more.

Had a great time! The studio was clean and just steps from the beach and ocean. The hammock in the yard is a great way to spend some lazy afternoons. Thanks Wolfgang and Josee for the tips on the restaurants. We will be back and look forward to seeing you again. Cheers, MikeDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

These Villas are beautiful, unique apartments remodeled and renovated from historic plantation buildings. The location is breathtaking, overlooking the ocean and set in lovely tropical gardens. One of the many charms of these villas is that each is uniquely configured, and most have their own private outdoor areas including gorgeous garden areas and decks with great ocean views. I stayed at Inchcape for three weeks, and had the opportunity to stay in several different units.I would be hard-pressed to pick a favourite, as each had unique and special features; for example, the Seaside Cottages have great lofts with beautiful views; Seaview has a lovely covered balcony; and Coconut enjoys a private garden. Complementing the fascinating historic context and creative interior architecture, the apartments are equipped with all the modern comforts and conveniences including full-sized kitchen appliances, high-speed internet (which always worked!), and TV and sound system. In addition to the apartments’ private outdoor areas, Inchcape also has an extensive beautifully landscaped garden, with a long frontage overlooking the ocean. The whole area is extremely private (gated and fenced, but not intrusively so). The location is perfect for windsurfers / kitesurfers with their own gear, or for anybody wanting to rent equipment (the De Action shop is only a 5-minute walk upwind along the beach). As a solo traveler without a rental car, I found this location absolutely perfect – the grounds and apartments at Inchcape were quiet, relaxed, safe, and extremely comfortable; windsurfing gear was available a short walk along the beach; and groceries, fresh fish at the fish market, and fresh produce at locally-run stands were all an easy bus ride away (you don’t need a rental car or taxi to come and go to Oistins from Inchcape. The bus stop is 5 minutes walk up the hill, and taking the #11 van into town is fun, and a good way to get around). The self-catering / full kitchen aspect was a big advantage, since eating out seemed quite expensive, but fresh fish at the market was excellent value. The maid service was extremely competent and professional. This is a superbly-run establishment were the staff are proud to work. The owners, Rosi and Wolfgang, are wonderfully welcoming and helpful; they live on-site in their own villa and are always available to help out with local knowledge. I can understand why the majority of their guests are returning clientele!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We spent two wonderful weeks at inchcape and we can absolutely recommend the place for everyone who is looking for beach, surf or just relaxation. It's a very friendly, clean and beautiful property. Wolfgang and Rosi were always very helpful with arranging everything we needed (car, food, surf tips, etc.) The villas are situated right by the beach. The only other facility on that beach (silver sands) is the silver sands hotel but it's closed now so we had the beach mostly for ourselves. It's possible to surf there but is more suited for wind and kite surfers as well as for (very popular) stand up paddling. The best surf spot nearby is freights - a 5 min. car ride away. Overall we had an outstanding holiday in Barbados. People are polite and welcoming, no dangerous animals whatsoever, good food and great surf! Actually we had planned to stay for 9 days but on our last day we decided to extend to two weeks! The owners were very helpful with that as well..Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

This is a review from 2 people which do the same kind of work like Inchcape, we rent houses and apartments. The place is amuzing, the vegetation is luxuriant, the staff is very gentle, the units are clean and have a very special style and the locationis is absolutely unique in the South coast, just few metres far from the sea water. We want to thank again the owners Mr. Wolfgang and Mrs. Rosy for their great hospitality and courtesy and we really hope to see them soon. We spent ten days here for our honeymoon, and were extremely satisfied with accommodations. The staff was friendly and helpful, and Inchcape was just beautiful! Waking up to a view of the ocean every morning, and hearing the waves while falling asleep made the stay very relaxing and peaceful. Overall we highly recommend staying at Inchcape, and thank you Wolfgang for such a great stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
