I spent a week in Antigua at Sunset Villa in November and wished I could have stayed a week longer. I enjoyed my stay so much. I did not know what to expect when I booked my solo impromptu trip but I felt that I would get the R&R I needed. The villa was the perfect choice! It is huge for one person but I immediately made it my home away from home. My favorite room was the living room. So spacious and comfortable with all the amenities of my living room at home complete with cable TV, wireless, phone, and iPod docking entertainment choices. I spent a couple evenings lounging in this space and it was simply sublime. In the mornings I would wake up and draw the curtains back and relish the view of the ocean, the boats on the water, the palm trees and the sun streaming in. I treasure those moments. Another favorite pastime was catching the sunsets after a day at the beach. I would literally run to the top deck of the villa to bear witness to the spectacular view (it REALLY is!) of the sun setting in the sky overlooking the ocean and Sandals resort. Trevor was simply the best. The most gracious and fun host ever. He took me to get my groceries and other quick errands done after I arrived and gave me great recommendations on things to do and places to eat (I highly recommend Stingray City!). Any concerns I may have had about being alone in such a big space were dismissed after I saw how secure the property is. I felt COMPLETELY safe and secure and that was so important in my ability to relax on this trip. And boy did I relax. I slept really well every night—so much so that I fell in love with the bed in the master suite (which is a memory foam model) and now I’m getting one for my own bedroom! All in all, this was a fantastic vacation that exceeded my expectations. Antigua is quaint and has many hidden natural treasures. The beaches are just gorg and with a car you can go to a different one every day of your vacay. I will definitely return. I highly recommend staying at Sunset Villa for a relaxing, private, safe and affordable accommodation, whether for a party of 1 or 6! Natalie

My wife and I had a wonderful vacation at this villa. Sunset villa is very clean, comfortable, and within 5-7 min walk to the one of the best beaches on the island, Dickinson Bay. Trevor was great. He picked us up from the airport, helped us with shopping at the local supermarket, and was flawlessly available through the week. Oakland car rental was also very helpful. They delivered the car to the villa and then picked it up. We have driven to several beaches on the island, Hawksbill and Darkwood. Those beaches were wonderful but we still preferred to stay at Dickinson beach. Overall, totally agree with all the previous reviews, highly recommended.

What an incredible time we had! Absolutely loved Antigua, especially the villa. The villa offers everything you need and more. Most importantly, the views of the caribbean ocean and sunsets from the villa were spectacular. I also can't say enough about Trevor. He was amazing and incredibly accommodating! He offered excellent advice on what to do on the island--from the best restaurants to things to do during the day, where to go for water activities and what taxi service to use (by the way, great recommendations of the restaurants Opus, Coconut Grove and the The Beach). Trevor was even able to take time out of his own schedule and show us around the island one night. Carol, you couldn't ask for a better person to manage your property. Thank you both so much for the wonderful memories!! And to the guys down at Tony's Watersports & Bar..."one love!" A vacation that will never be forgotten! Sincerely, Rebekah & Peter

In the past we (family of 4 with 2 older teens) have always used upper scale hotels/resorts for our frequent vacations. This was the 1st time we have used the VRBO for lodging. I've been a pilot for a major airline for over 30 years so as usual, this was a last minute booking based on where we could fly stand-by. Carol, the owner called shortly after I sent my email for information and made the entire booking experience very easy. This house/villa is as described offering a spectacular view of Dickenson Bay. The villa is an older house in a quiet residential area. Although older, it is well maintained and was very clean for our visit. The electronics (LCD TV, good surround sound with Ipod attachments etc.) are almost overboard. The WIFI is DSL located in the kitchen area and adequate for personal stuff. The house layout is a little different in that you do have to walk though one BR to get between the living room and the kitchen/2nd BR. There are 3 full bathrooms. There were more than enough beach towels, sheets, linens etc. Trevor has to be one of the most pleasant locals on the island. He was waiting for us just outside customs when we arrived and accommodated us in any way we asked. From the airport, Trevor dropped our bags at the Villa and then took us to the grocery which was well stocked. One suggestion I'd make is take a quick inventory of food stuffs in the frig/cabinet before heading for the store. We didn't and ended up adding several un-opened bottles/boxes to the villas stores as it was already stocked there. There is a small grocery within walking distance at the end of the beach just past Sandals where you can get items like bread/milk etc. When we were there, by 6pm the beach area was mostly deserted. I have traveled many places in the world. I would go back to Antigua JUST to eat at Papa Zouk's. The Red Snapper was superb. My son had one of the largest lobsters we've ever seen. The appetizer plate was awesome. Price was $22US/per person (Appetizer was $8US and the lobster was $44US). Cab from Papa Zouk's to the Villa was $15US. If you are out-of-shape or not able to walk hills, the trek back up the hill from the beach will not be fun. Our teens did it in the :05 minutes but for us old guys, it was a little longer. This was a very pleasant experience that I would go back for.
Owner response:Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure having you and your family stay with us and we would love to have you visit with us again. We try and continually upgrade the property so hopefully, on your next trip, it should be even more comfortable. Cheers! Carol

It’s fair to say that Sunset Villa exceeded our expectations (and they weren’t low to begin with). If you’re looking for accommodation in Dickenson Bay and would like greater space and freedom (and at less cost) than offered at the resorts below, look no further than Sunset Villa. Sunset Villa benefits from thoughtful ownership, ensuring your comfort, security and convenience needs are met (we were very impressed with the level of amenities). And the deal clincher is that elusive quality in property... location. The outlook (and the space to appreciate it) is unparalleled. We had family members staying at Sandals come up for a barbeque one evening, and they were suitably impressed. My personal highlight was the ability to share the experience with close family and friends (we were a very comfortable party of six). Sunset Villa was the perfect space to facilitate this and certainly enhanced our experience in Antigua. Special thanks to Trevor, who was not only incredibly helpful but also thoroughly good company.

A week at Sunset Villa is a week in paradise! My wife and I have visited about 15 islands in the caribbean and this tops them all. The villa is extremely spacious, comfortable, nice stereo to play reggae, and with two porches. We named the upper one "Tre House": it has unbeatable views of Dickenson Bay and always a gentle trade win. Almost slept up there! Trevor is wonderful, helpful and interesting to talk with. Opus Restaurant is right across the street--so convenient and has great fish and fabulous pizza too. Dickenbson beach is 5 mins. walk down the hill and hosts two great beach bars--Tony's and Sneaky pete's. Peter, Dave and Eli are great hosts at Sneaky Pete's. All the watersports you could possibly want to try are right here, and you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas (strongly recommended for the potent sun). Carol has a real gem here and we strongly recommend you make it your home if you pln to visit Antigua. We miss it!
Owner response:Thanks so much, Ted. It was a pleasure having you. We look forward to your next visit to Antigua.

Sunset Villa has an AMAZING view! Every time we would come back to the Villa from a day trip, we would be blown away at what a wonderful location the villa is at. We also loved having our sunset wine and breakfasts on the deck. It is really close to the beach-only a couple minutes walk and on one of the best areas in Antigua. Thanks for a wonderful and comfortable stay. We also loved the music system that allowed us to having piping reggae throughout the villa!
Owner response:We are really glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope you will consider visiting with us again in the future. I heard you quite enjoyed the nightlife in the area. You would be happy to know that Opus Restaurant opposite Sunset Villa (formerly called Pari's Pizzeria) has been expanded to include one of the trendiest night spots on the island called The Blu Lounge. Hopefully it will make your stay even more enjoyable upon your return.

This is the best place you could stay at on your Antiguan vacation! It's quiet and private with absolutely fantastic views. It's like home away from home, with all of the amenities you need to keep you and your kids entertained. A short walk gets you to a beautiful white sand beach with crystal clear water. Our host, Trevor, was the best - making sure that we were comfortable in our temporary home. My family and I had an awesome stay at Sunset, and we can't wait to go back.
Owner response:Thanks for the feedback. We look forward to having you back!

The view was beautiful. I went with two friends and we spent a lot of time on the porch just taking in the view. I didn't want to go back home after visiting.
