Our 'Buena Vista' beach-side luxury home is a five-bedroom, four-and-one-half bath, Saint George Island vacation home with an amazing gulf view just steps to the beach. Three of the bedrooms have marvelous ocean views, and two with garden view. Its upscale, professionally decorated furnishings/interior, ten-foot ceilings, two separate living areas on the second and third floors, and gas fireplace in the main third-floor living area, make 'Buena Vista' a comfortable and fun place to vacation any time of the year.
This delightful home also features two master bedrooms - the main master features magnificent ocean views on two sides of the room, a king-size bed, and private bath with giant garden tub and separate shower, and dual sinks.

You will never want to leave this room! The kitchen with its stylish stainless-steel appliances and Corian counters is well-equipped for those who enjoy cooking gourmet meals.
There is a breakfast bar and formal dining area, and for those who enjoy their movies and sports, a 50-inch Sony plasma TV with a six-channel surround sound home theater system that will make you feel like you have your own personal movie theater. This entertainment center includes DVD, VHS, and CD capability.

Family of 8 adults and 2 dogs stayed here and loved it! Great location - just steps from the beach and close to everything you need on the island. The two living areas were very convenient. Plenty of room for everyone. Enclosed hot/cold outdoor shower was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Of note - access to backyard is from outside stairs or front yard only - not accessible from inside the house itself. If you like to use a lot of bath towels - be sure to bring your own. Rental process & checking in/out was extremely easy. Rent a golf cart - it's a fun way to get around the island! Local establishments we'd recommend: SGI-Eddy Teach's, Blue Parrot, BJ's; Apalachicola - Caroline's, Owl Cafe. We all had a wonderful time in St. George Island and we'll return again. Thank You!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I have been visiting SGI for about twenty years. I love SGI because it takes me back to my nostalgic youth and great times with friends. That was back when no one used sun screen and you never even heard of a cellphone. For this occasion, many of my dear friends reunited for the celebration of our birthdays [some have accumulated more than others, right Ang?!]. Buena Vista was the perfect place for our celebration. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and do their thing. The kitchen was adequately appointed with many meals prepared without much struggle. Doug's Seafood was a common fare. A new set of pots and pans that work well with a flat top stove would be helpful. Ther refrigerator with an indoor water dispenser for filtered water was fantastic. The pool/hot tub were heated while we stayed and perfect for late evening relaxing, especially with a downstairs refrigerator to keep libations chilled. The TV/Stereo and outside speakers were nice. I would recommend a patch cord and written instructions for using an iPod, as most travelers own them now. TVs were plentiful, so for those of you interested in watching one, no worries. But, why on earth would you go to SGI to watch a TV! The washer and dryer were adequate, as in they got the job done. I would encourage a deep cleaning of the exhaust duct for the dryer since from the outside it seems rather linty. All beds were comfortable but most were up before sunrise to see the gulf sky turn orange and the dawn of a new day. The master bedroom was superb. The shower, spa tub, and water closet were well positioned for maximum privacy. Overall, Buena Vista is the ideal home for a group of 8. Very easy walk across the street to the beach, which allows for more privacy any way. Buena Vista is a beautiful home, fenced in yard [e.g., children or pets], well furnished, and a most probable revisit. Remember to take your picture with the dining room chandelier!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
