Escape to this spacious 3 floor chalet in a secluded setting with no neighbors in the front, back or on either side. This property is used by the Owner and his family 'frequently' so it has many nice touches that you wouldn't normally find in a rental property, making it the right rental for families, couples, and for romantic retreats. This is not the rental for young groups of friends looking to get rowdy (minimum age to rent is 25). This is an 'All' seasons rental that features 4 bedrooms (which includes the huge sleeping loft) to accommodate 8 adults/children very comfortably*. For those who love the outdoors and want a getaway from the business of life, this is the place for you. This home offers a breathtaking view of nature from the large wraparound deck. There is nothing to interrupt this picture perfect view, however, a short walk allows you to swim at the community lakes, play tennis, socialize at the clubhouse, or even ski at the community ski slope. This is the best of both worlds...a quiet getaway that is close to many amenities. Smoking is NOT permitted inside the house.

1ST FLOOR layout: there is a separate family room on the 1st floor to watch TV, listen to the full stereo (CD & cassette & Ipod docking station), shoot some pool or play foosball. There is also a bar area to enjoy a cocktail (or 2 or 3...) and a pub table with stools...for that friendly pub look (see photo#4). There is a new ceramic tile floor throughout and this floor has a full bathroom!

2ND FLOOR layout: this is the MAIN Floor with new hardwood floors and a Cathedral ceiling with exposed wood beams giving it the real chalet look and feel. It offers warmth and coziness with its open floor plan between the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Living room has a large ceiling fan, gas fireplace and a leather sofa & loveseat. Walk out to a large wraparound deck with two exit points. The 2ND full bathroom is on this floor as well as the 3 Bedrooms(two with Full beds and one with 2 twin beds); all the Bedrooms have ceiling fans!

3RD FLOOR layout: HUGE loft (the 4th bedroom) with King bed, ceiling fan PLUS a futon (to sleep 4). This is a beautiful warm and cozy room to lie down in bed and watch the view from the wall of windows in the front of the home; it's great to watch the snow falling in the winter. And if you have little kids that need to be close by at night, the futon comes in real handy.

The home also has all of the modern conveniences you are accustomed to at your own home, that includes: dishwasher, refrigerators(2), microwave, TVs(2), DVD/VCR player, CD/cassette Stereo, and an Ipod docking station. There is also a gas fireplace for the beauty of a real fire without the hassle of loading the wood! The home also features a home security system that is monitored 24x7. Home is within walking distance to East Lake and Pilgrim Lake. East Lake is one of the larger swimming lakes with Lifeguards (for the summer months) and tennis courts across the street.

For activities, you can't beat Locust Lake Village. The village is a 4-season community with 24x7 security, 5 lakes, 3 stocked with fish, 3 with playgrounds, beaches and lifeguards. The fishing is excellent, named one of the best by the Gaming Commission. For the athletes, there is a baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, shuffleboard and bocce ball. And for those wishing to learn to ski or who have small children just starting, we have our own T-bar lift and lodge! During summer our full-time recreational department offers various fun activities for children and adults. They include arts & crafts, ceramics, softball games, tennis and swimming lessons, water games, pet shows, ice cream socials, cook-out/campfire nights, bingo, family movie nights, and organized trips. Village activities are available after obtaining "renters badges" from the office for a small fee. Only 15 minutes to either Camelback or Jack Frost/Big Boulder where you can enjoy snow tubing, snowboarding, skiing, skating, and snowmobiling.

Why the Owner Chose Locust Lakes Village

My friends and family always loved the Poconos for all year round enjoyment. Visiting this home is like being in a different world, away from all the monotony of home/work. I especially like this development with it's 5 lakes for great fishing and swimming. It is a very secure development and the people who work at LLV are extremely nice and helpfull.

The Unique Benefits at this Chalet

We enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds this place, including lots of wildlife. The property is very private with no direct neighbors to the left, right, in front or behind the property. We are also in a location that is central to so many local attractions that offer loads of fun for all four seasons. I enjoy mornings walks on the property or sitting on the large deck sipping coffee where you only hear the birds chirp.

Great Getaway house!

Guest: Andrew T (Philadelphia)
Date of Stay: 12/23/11 Review Submitted: 01/04/12

We have stayed twice at the house. First time - during summer 2010 with my family. Second time– just recently for 2011 Christmas. This time stayed with our friends (total 8). Great house! Clean and very well maintained. During both stays - we had no problems with any equipment. BTW: WiFi internet is fast and reliable. The house was extremely well stocked with thoughtful and useful items, well decorated and very convenient. Community is clean and stuff is friendly. At summer time we enjoyed local lakes for fishing and swimming. At winter – we had a great time skiing and tubing. Excellent location! Close to everything: restaurants, shopping centers, grocery stores, ski resorts, etc. Owner is very nice and easy to deal with. We happy we found this place and sure will be back.

Just what we were looking for

This was exactly what we were looking for. The house was very clean, which is a huge plus for me. The layout was perfect for the 6 of us. Lots of space for everyone to enjoy themselves. The kids all particularly enjoyed the game room. The owner was extremely helpful throughout the rental process. My family usually prefers trying a different place each year, but we all agreed that this one deserves a repeat visit. I would strongly recommend this house to any of my family/friends.

Excellent House - Highly Recommend

Date of Stay: 02/25/11 Review Submitted: 03/01/11

Had the pleasure of staying at the Leonard Chalet for a snow-tubing trip with a party of eight. This house was the perfect choice - very nicely decorated, lovely layout, very comfortable beds, clean and convenient to many major ski areas, as well as many good local restaurants. The upstairs has a very cozy living room with a fireplace, which was great after a long day out in the snow. The downstairs area has a great setup of a pool table, tv and bar ~ another great way to spend the evening with family or friends. The surrounding property is wooded and private. I would definately recommend this property for any family or group of friends interested in a Pocono getaway.

Date of Stay: 02/18/11 Review Submitted: 02/27/11

this house was very nice. the first floor game room bar area was a hit with our group.we had an ongoing pool tournament for 3 days. their were no houses within 100 feet on all sides. we had deer roaming the property everyday multiple times that the kids were feeding. everyone in our group loved this house and want to know when were goin back.the day we departed we awoke to 8 or 9 inches of snow. would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a nice secluded home this is it. the owner frank was very friendly and accomidating. i have rented many homes in the pocono's thru the years but this is the first time a homeowner was available during our stay for any reason.

A Vacation to Remember

Guest: Wayne K (NY)
Date of Stay: 08/13/10 Review Submitted: 08/27/10

First, I must thank Mr. Leonard for giving us the opportunity rent this house. This place was absolutely amazing. Just the getaway our family needed. It was so relaxing and beautiful. The house was spacious, clean, well equipped (sorry for setting off the alarm) and very accommodating. Being secluded, the tranquility of this place was amazing. At night we would come out on the deck and star gaze. My daughter and I enjoyed walking and catching glimpses of the deer and wild turkeys roaming through the trees. We are already considering returning soon and would definitely recommend this place to our family and friends

Perfect Family Getaway!

Guest: Cork (Chambersburg, PA)
Date of Stay: 07/01/10 Review Submitted: 08/23/10

My husband, son, daughter-in-law and grandson had the perfect family getaway at the Leonard Home. The chalet is tucked away in the trees offering its guests all the comforts of home combined with the sights and sounds of nature. We spent hours out on the deck and even had a special visitor one night - my husband and son were outside when a black bear came strolling through. It was an awesome sight! If you are looking for a place to stay that is tastefully decorated, warm and inviting, close to everything yet very private you need to visit the Leonard Home where Frank makes you feel right at home. We hope to visit again next year.

Just what we needed!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the “Leonard Chalet”. The house was charming with a beautiful stone fireplace in the living room for a warm romantic evening. It also had a nice deck outside to admire the foliage and deer. We enjoyed the nice entertainment room, which had a great bar area and pool table. There were some great local places to eat such as the Chat and Chew for breakfast and many things to do locally. The house was so spacious that next time (and there will be a next time) we will bring the whole family. It was the perfect, private weekend getaway.

Fishing, Fun and Peace

Guest: jacklab (New York City)
Date of Stay: 05/14/10 Review Submitted: 05/23/10

Took my wife and 3 teenage boys away for the weekend, and we picked this house after looking at many. Happy to say we made the 'right' choice without a doubt. This is a great house for the family. First off, Locust Lake Village has some great lakes to fish with my boys. And the surrounding area has plenty of places to go see. Secondly (and most importantly), the house is perfect. It's well kept and offers lots to do, especially important with 3 teenagers. We spent lots of time playing pool and ate most of our meals out on the big deck. The bar by the pool table was fun with the wife after the kids went to sleep. If your reading this, rent the place…you'll be happy you did.

My husband and I took my daughter and grandchildren up to the Poconos for the 1st time in years to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary; so glad we did. The house was charming, well maintained, and had all the amenities of being back home, but without all the problems of the day. Escape is the right word. House has beautiful, large deck out front and you are lucky if you see a car go past. Nice and private with no neighbors next to us. The loft bedroom , where we slept is large with king bed and has such a pleasant view out the wall of windows. Ceiling fans in all the rooms is a nice touch and the furniture seems new or is well kept; the dining room table was very pretty and accommodated the whole family. The kids loved the place and the surrounding woods. Lakes were close enough so I could walk there with my grandkids. Very satisfied!

What a Great House!!!

Guest: Shof (New Jersey)
Date of Stay: 04/15/10 Review Submitted: 05/19/10

Needed to get away to relax with my family and this home was so warm and inviting, we didn't want to leave. We're already planning our next trip to the house in September. The owner was a great guy and very easy to work with. Answered all our questions, made lots of suggestoin on places to go and he even provided a nice listing of all area activities, restaurant, places to see. You can tell he did a lot of special things to the home to make it 'not' the normal rental and it was nicely decorated and a great basement. Rent it, but not the week in September that I want to go. LOL
