Frank's house is becoming THE place for our annual sky outing. The kids are starting to build memory there. It is a great place to be, very quiet, lots of space (and games for everyone), close to the ski resorts and rental places. At the same time, the location is perfect for nature lovers, those who want to relax away from city noise and enjoy walks in a nice environment. We'll be back next year!

We have stayed twice at the house. First time - during summer 2010 with my family. Second time– just recently for 2011 Christmas. This time stayed with our friends (total 8). Great house! Clean and very well maintained. During both stays - we had no problems with any equipment. BTW: WiFi internet is fast and reliable. The house was extremely well stocked with thoughtful and useful items, well decorated and very convenient. Community is clean and stuff is friendly. At summer time we enjoyed local lakes for fishing and swimming. At winter – we had a great time skiing and tubing. Excellent location! Close to everything: restaurants, shopping centers, grocery stores, ski resorts, etc. Owner is very nice and easy to deal with. We happy we found this place and sure will be back.

My family stayed at the house for 2 weeks over the summer. The house is beautiful. It is new, has none of the musty smell one comes to associate with a rental house, has all the modern amenities and is lovingly decorated. It is located away from the hustle and bustle of the older properties that crowd close together along the roads by the lake. I would have loved to come back there alone with my husband or a group of our friends. The owner was very available, kind and accommodating to us. One can easily tell how much work has gone into building, designing and maintaing the house. It is the middle of winter now, and we often talk about good times spent up at the Pocono house. We hope to come back next summer.

This was exactly what we were looking for. The house was very clean, which is a huge plus for me. The layout was perfect for the 6 of us. Lots of space for everyone to enjoy themselves. The kids all particularly enjoyed the game room. The owner was extremely helpful throughout the rental process. My family usually prefers trying a different place each year, but we all agreed that this one deserves a repeat visit. I would strongly recommend this house to any of my family/friends.

Had the pleasure of staying at the Leonard Chalet for a snow-tubing trip with a party of eight. This house was the perfect choice - very nicely decorated, lovely layout, very comfortable beds, clean and convenient to many major ski areas, as well as many good local restaurants. The upstairs has a very cozy living room with a fireplace, which was great after a long day out in the snow. The downstairs area has a great setup of a pool table, tv and bar ~ another great way to spend the evening with family or friends. The surrounding property is wooded and private. I would definately recommend this property for any family or group of friends interested in a Pocono getaway.

this house was very nice. the first floor game room bar area was a hit with our group.we had an ongoing pool tournament for 3 days. their were no houses within 100 feet on all sides. we had deer roaming the property everyday multiple times that the kids were feeding. everyone in our group loved this house and want to know when were goin back.the day we departed we awoke to 8 or 9 inches of snow. would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a nice secluded home this is it. the owner frank was very friendly and accomidating. i have rented many homes in the pocono's thru the years but this is the first time a homeowner was available during our stay for any reason.

First, I must thank Mr. Leonard for giving us the opportunity rent this house. This place was absolutely amazing. Just the getaway our family needed. It was so relaxing and beautiful. The house was spacious, clean, well equipped (sorry for setting off the alarm) and very accommodating. Being secluded, the tranquility of this place was amazing. At night we would come out on the deck and star gaze. My daughter and I enjoyed walking and catching glimpses of the deer and wild turkeys roaming through the trees. We are already considering returning soon and would definitely recommend this place to our family and friends

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the “Leonard Chalet”. The house was charming with a beautiful stone fireplace in the living room for a warm romantic evening. It also had a nice deck outside to admire the foliage and deer. We enjoyed the nice entertainment room, which had a great bar area and pool table. There were some great local places to eat such as the Chat and Chew for breakfast and many things to do locally. The house was so spacious that next time (and there will be a next time) we will bring the whole family. It was the perfect, private weekend getaway.

My husband, son, daughter-in-law and grandson had the perfect family getaway at the Leonard Home. The chalet is tucked away in the trees offering its guests all the comforts of home combined with the sights and sounds of nature. We spent hours out on the deck and even had a special visitor one night - my husband and son were outside when a black bear came strolling through. It was an awesome sight! If you are looking for a place to stay that is tastefully decorated, warm and inviting, close to everything yet very private you need to visit the Leonard Home where Frank makes you feel right at home. We hope to visit again next year.

Took my wife and 3 teenage boys away for the weekend, and we picked this house after looking at many. Happy to say we made the 'right' choice without a doubt. This is a great house for the family. First off, Locust Lake Village has some great lakes to fish with my boys. And the surrounding area has plenty of places to go see. Secondly (and most importantly), the house is perfect. It's well kept and offers lots to do, especially important with 3 teenagers. We spent lots of time playing pool and ate most of our meals out on the big deck. The bar by the pool table was fun with the wife after the kids went to sleep. If your reading this, rent the place…you'll be happy you did.

My husband and I took my daughter and grandchildren up to the Poconos for the 1st time in years to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary; so glad we did. The house was charming, well maintained, and had all the amenities of being back home, but without all the problems of the day. Escape is the right word. House has beautiful, large deck out front and you are lucky if you see a car go past. Nice and private with no neighbors next to us. The loft bedroom , where we slept is large with king bed and has such a pleasant view out the wall of windows. Ceiling fans in all the rooms is a nice touch and the furniture seems new or is well kept; the dining room table was very pretty and accommodated the whole family. The kids loved the place and the surrounding woods. Lakes were close enough so I could walk there with my grandkids. Very satisfied!

Needed to get away to relax with my family and this home was so warm and inviting, we didn't want to leave. We're already planning our next trip to the house in September. The owner was a great guy and very easy to work with. Answered all our questions, made lots of suggestoin on places to go and he even provided a nice listing of all area activities, restaurant, places to see. You can tell he did a lot of special things to the home to make it 'not' the normal rental and it was nicely decorated and a great basement. Rent it, but not the week in September that I want to go. LOL

This houses looks and seems alot better on the website than it is in real life. Don't get me wrong the house has a lot of potenetial, but needs work. I would have been happy with it were we a group of partying college students or guys on a bachelor party. the house was very dirty. It seems like the cleaning job, if done at all, had been done very poorly over the last few years. In harder to reach places you could see see a thorugh cleaning job had not been done in a long time. the owner was very picky about who stayed there, but the house did not reflect this at all. We had a small baby on her first vacation and my wife was not very happy, to put it nicely.
Owner response:Please read All my other reviews. 100 percent Satisfaction over the last 4 years since I bought the home and I never had to post a Response nor had a Complaint. I should have seen the warning signs when I had up front issues with the payment and frantic emails when the check-in information wasn't received when they expected (and apologetic emails afterwards). During the last day of their stay they even requested to stay longer, which I find quite funny based on their review! Even had issues with security deposit, because they thought they should have received it back the next day when my contract explicitly says when it will be returned, so that I have ample time to go to the house and check things out. For the record, they recevied back 100 percent of their security deposit and within the specified time frame (and I never had a complaint about this either). But I guess that wasn't good enough. Also note that with each and every Renter, I always check with them after they arrive (as a courtesy) just to make sure everything is ok or in case they have any questions/needs, and I was informed that everything was great (those exact words). They are not being honest nor is this review just...simple as that. Live and learn I quess....so please read the other reviews that speak for themselves.

The Leonard house was the perfect fit for our family. My wife and I and our three adult children and one spouse had plenty of space and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The deck allowed us to witness daily visits from a doe and her two fawns, house is set in area where no neighbors are visible, great privacy. The recreation room provided evening entertainment. The inside of the home is spacious and comfortable and very well kept (perfect rustic getaway).Plenty to do in the area.

The Leonard Mountain House immediately welcomes the traveler with a warm, inviting aura that says, “Make yourself comfortable.” Artistic messages resonate with the soul. “Peace” - “Good Food...Good Friends...Good Times” Chainsaw bear figure, wolf painting on a tree slab, antler lamps, forest plates on natural wood panels. Solid wood furnishings, railings, ceiling beams, antique bar signs. Frank’s cabin is handsomely appointed with rustic décor throughout. It's a great getaway!

We had a wonderful time at the Leonard Mountain House. The house is well maintained and great for large families. Our 3 sons LOVED the pool table and we enjoyed spending quality time with our sons in the peaceful surrounding of this home. Location is great since it only took a short time to reach snow tubing, etc. Would stay here again!

I would definitely rent this house again! My friends and I had the best time. It was so cozy it felt like a home away from home. I loved that it was able to fit our large group. The house was gorgeous. The living room was beautiful with the fireplace and the floor to ceiling windows. Of course the rec room downstairs made it even better. The entire decor down there alone was great, not to mention the pool table, the small table for playing cards, tv, bar, it doesn't get any better. It was close to all the attractions which made it so easy for us to get around. Thanks Frank!!

This is such a lovely house. Its location is perfect for relaxing, but has ameneties close by. The lakes are lovely to relax by, one of which is just a 10 min walk from the house. It was also lovely to see deer outside the house (very rare in England!!). I would highly recommend this house, perfect for anyone.
