The Buche Haus (Beech House) is a scenic and peaceful getaway for your pleasure during all four seasons. At 5000', our Alpine-style condo chalet is located atop Beech Mountain in the North Carolina Mountains only 5 minutes from Ski Beech. It is a very convenient and affordable weekend, weeklong or monthly vacation spot and great for family reunions, romantic weekends, honeymoons or a girls/guys weekend away. Just 15 minutes from Sugar Mtn, which has not only great skiing, but events throughout the year.
The first floor has 2 bedrooms (1 king & 1 queen bed) and a full bath as well as a washer/dryer. Both bedrooms have Cable TV/DVD/VCRs. The main floor has a living room with fireplace, Cable TV/DVD/VCR, dining room, full kitchen, full bath and 2 decks with nice views. A queen pullout couch,a queen aerobed and a twin aerobed are also available. The 3rd floor has a great view, a full-sized bed and a 1/2 bath. The condo offers ground level access making it easy to unload.
Our family stays there regularly so the condo has all the amenities to make your stay easy and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals. We provide books, movies, games infant/toddler items, linens/towels and firewood.
We are not far from Banner Elk, Boone, Valle Crucis, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Year-round Activities include hiking, shopping, wine-tasting at Banner Elk Winery, restaurants or curling up with a book by the stone fireplace or out on the deck.
We are Beech Mountain Country Club members so you can take advantage of club offerings like swimming, golf, fitness center, massage and tennis for a very nominal fee. Additionally, the *new* Buckeye Recreation Center has indoor/outdoor activities for all ages during all four seasons.

We are the Cutler's, family of four with 2 girls who love the mountains. We live in Raleigh, NC and go up to Beech any chance we can get. Like everyone, we lead busy lives with work and children activities but we try hard to make time for fun and getting away. Janice is a Florist owner in Raleigh and Seth is in IT. We love the outdoors and enjoy escaping the humid weather in Raleigh in summer and going to Beech where it is always pleasant and cool. We hope you decide to stay at our place when planning your vacation on Beech. Wherever you stay, enjoy!
Why the Owner Chose Beech Mountain
We purchased our place in 2005 because we just LOVE Beech Mountain during ALL seasons. We had visited several times to ski and also in Fall and summer. The weather in summer is especially amazing as it never gets above 80 degrees on the mountain. There seems to be no humidity. Coming from Raleigh where the summers can be just oppressive and actually being able to stay outside all the time while on Beech in the summer is worth the trip alone. Skibeech is a nice family mountain and there is just so much to do in general during all seasons. Our family vacations are always full of magnificent scenery, fun activities and friendly folks. We love going there.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
All the conveniences we keep for our guests. We realize how daunting it can seem to think about packing for a trip with children and all the stuff! We have many of the bulkier items difficult to travel with waiting there for you, like a crib with sheets/bumpers, etc.., playpen, high chair, etc.. There are also plenty of toys to access, books, games, videos, DVD's, etc... The kitchen is a full kitchen where you can cook anything you would need to. All appliances you would have at home, we have here. People tell us our beds are very comfortable to sleep in. Our location is great for so many reasons: 5 minutes from SkiBeech, 5 minutes from the Beech Mountain Club, 10 minutes from Buckeye Rec Center, and 15 from SkiSugar. In summer, it is a quick 20-30 minutes for most rafting trips. Also in Summer, our guests can enjoy the pool and tennis courts at the Beech Mountain Club and Rec Center as our guests. We have been told that we have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. If you must work or surf the net while you are here, we do have WIFI in the condo!

We had a fantastic time despite a small accident on the slopes. The condo was very cozy and the neighbors were very friendly. We loved the fact that the neighbors had formed a relationship with local deer and they visited the front yard every morning. Overall we all had a great time, even the nephew that broke his wrist said that he was daydreaming with snowboarding. This condo is a great place to spend spring, summer and winter vacations. .5 miles from Beech Mtn. Thank you Janice for sharing your home with our family.

We stayed here with another family and had a great time! We had everything we needed and there was plenty of room for all of the kids to play! Janice was great to work with and very nice. We went skiing and loved the ski school and the resort, everything was great, we had a blast!

We had a fantastic experience at the Buche Haus. We visited Valentines Weekend along with another couple and our two children. The house was very clean and well stocked and the perfect layout for our party. The house had many extra's aimed at kids, so our 5 year olds had the time of their lives. The owners took extra measures to ensure that we knew where to buy groceries and get a good meal. Thanks for opening up your wonderful home to us. We can't wait to rent again.

We had a great week at Buche Haus seeing all the area attractions and enjoying the cooler weather. The condo was clean, well-stocked, and close to everything on Beech Mtn. The owner was easy to work with and provided a great deal of information about the area which was helpful in deciding where to eat and what to do. Next time we will come in the winter so we can try the skiing!

Our family stayed at the condo for 1 week in June. The condo was well equipped, spacious and clean. Our girls enjoyed the games and puzzles that were available. Janice was very responsive (by phone and email) and extra helpful in providing details about the local area (activities, restaurants, ...). We really enjoyed everything about our vacation.

This was a great condo for more than 1 family to share. We stayed end of Dec 08 for new years eve. Skiing at Beech was not great as there wasn't much snow and they hadn't had enough cold weather to make snow yet, but Beech is a nice family type ski resort. We've been there before and we will return. The condo accommodations were perfect and the view was great too. Plenty of bedding and we used all of the air mattresses. Kitchen well stocked, had absolutely everything we needed and was well organized. Owner is very easy to deal with, no problems whatsoever. We had our family of 5, my sister's family of 3 and 2 grandparents. It was a great family vacation with lots of fun memories. Beech mountain is a pretty short drive and the town where the restaraunts and sledding are is just a few minutes further up the road. We would certainly stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

We had a fantastic time! Buche Haus was great place to celebrate our anniversary, and the accommodations were oh so comfortable!! The leaves were at their peak; the weather was perfect; and the walks, hikes, and visits to the local attractions were stupendous. We had a wonderfully memorable time at your place! Every room was amazingly clean and well equipped, and we were impressed by the many "extras" you thought about and provided that ensured our comfort. These "little things" consistently reflected an uncommon concern for your visitors and obvious pride in your lovely home. The full kitchen was perfect; the fireplace was warm and lovely; the family room and bedrooms were terrific. Even the beds were comfortable; we slept like babies! (At our age, that's quite a feat!) We loved the deck for our breakfast with nature, and for our glass of wine at the end of a perfect day. Thanks for the on-site library, games and DVDs! We enjoyed the convenience of having everything within arm's reach. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. We can't wait to return again, soon!

We had a wonderful time. It had snowed before we got there and then snowed while we were there. The condo was very nice, comfortable and cozy. My children loved it and got to see snow for the first time. They sledded down the slope behind the condo and at the sledding hill in town. We had a fantastic time and would come back.
