NEW IN 2013: We will finish our carpeting upgrade with new carpeting in the last 2 bedrooms! We also have a new dining table on the top floor deck, will be adding an ice maker to the kitchen area, will upgrade the entertainment room and replace the hot tub!
Wonderful home located on the most convenient, and quiet, Soundfront street in Corolla Light. Sunrise Sunset offers the lushness of the Soundside, while still being convenient to the beach. It is located directly across the street from the Indoor/Outdoor Sports Complex and only three blocks from the Oceanside Resort Complex & Beach, with access via a trolley which stops in front of our home every 30 to 40 minutes(Memorial Day to Labor Day). The soundfront outdoor community pool, including a toddler bathing area, plus pier and nature trail are located directly behind our home.
In addition to enjoying your own private recreational amenities including private heated pool, hot tub, pinball, pool table, ping pong, air hockey and other games; you will have free access to the community recreation center which offers an Olympic-sized indoor pool, indoor racquetball & Walleyball, indoor and outdoor clay, hard surfaced and lighted tennis courts, and a fitness center with aerobics, weight & cardio rooms.
The Soundside is revered for its wonderful sunsets and after dusk you can lounge in the evening at one of the 2-patio dinette tables, on the porch swing or in the hammock. Alternately, retreat to the large great room which includes cable TV, DVD, stereo receiver, desktop computer, gas fireplace and whirlpool jet tub in the top floor master bathroom.
The kitchen is equipped with everything imagineable, including a GE Profile double oven and 2-exceptionally quiet dishwashers.
4-bedrooms with king sized beds, 1-bedroom with twin beds, 1-bedroom with a Duobunk and Trundle bed (sleeps 4) and 1-queen sleep sofa. All beds are provided with plush mattress pads, extra blankets and hypoalergenic feather pillows. Every bedroom has its own bath featuring exquisite tile work and a TV/DVD. Wireless internet and free long distance (US & International) phone service is available at no additional cost. 12 wrist bands provided for entry into the Corolla Light Resort amenities. It is up to each individual renter to determine how many can sleep in this home based upon the bedding provided.
In all, we feel that our home offers every amenity a family could desire for relaxation and fun.
Pool can be heated 4/27/2013 to 5/25/2013 and 9/21/2013 to 10/19/2012. Bed linens, bath and kitchen dish towels provided.

This is our second year at "Sunrise Sunset" & we've already booked again for next year! The pictures & descriptions pale to what you will experience in this vacation home! From the time you arrive and are met by the cleaning service who take you through the home & explain everything you need to know about the home & make sure you approve their sevice before they leave! Once the home is yours for the week it's straight pleasure & relaxation, from the air hockey, pool table & pinball machine on the lower level to the beautiful pool or hot tub in the private yard! You could also just sit & relax on any of the wrap around decks! This was definately relaxation plus!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

We had our family ages from 13-75 and loved every minute. Our family had stayed in Corolla Light in another house on the beach for 4 Years. This home was perfect at this time in our lives because all were old enough to go to the beach on their own. It was so quiet and peaceful on the sound side. The home was very clean and very beautiful. There wasn't anything that we looked for that wasn't there. There was no doubt we were going to put the deposit down for 2013. Thank you to the family for letting us use their beautiful home.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers.

Dear Fred, We just returned from our week at Sunrise Sunset and wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our visit. Your home is wonderful and we especially enjoyed the game room activities. The ping pong, basketball and pinball machine were great fun. My husband loves to shoot pool but I'm afraid he didn't get to use the table as much as he would have liked since I'm not a very good pool shark! My ladies group arrived on Thursday and loved the house, too. We have all gotten to the age where sharing a bedroom/bathroom is not fun anymore. We really enjoyed the privacy.The house was very clean and we loved having the beds made up for us! The weather was absolutely beautiful the whole week. It couldn't have been any better! Again, thank you for allowing us to stay the extra day. We hope to return and one of my friends has requested the rental information. Again, thank you for an amazing vacation!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children.

6 years ago when we got our dog Chia, we were concerned about the prospect of having to stay in a “dog friendly“ house. To us, the phrase brought to mind smells, stains and ripped carpets. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Sunrise Sunset and found none of the above. In fact, we found it to be the best rental experience that we have had at Outer Banks. Since then we have been back every year. One of the clinchers for me was that when we were leaving after our 1st stay we wrote in the guest book that, being there late in the year (October) It was dark outside by dinner time, and that it would be a good idea to have a light installed near the outside grill. Lo and behold when we arrived the following year the light had been installed. I believe that story illustrates the type of experience that you should expect in this home. The owners keep this property meticulously maintained. Every year we come to find new carpet or freshly finished hardwood, not a hint of peeling paint or other maintenance left undone……and STILL, 6 years later, no doggy smells, stains or ripped carpet. In fact, we have come to think of Sunrise Sunset more as a 2nd home than a rental, and are considering staying here once every 6 months instead of annually. Don’t even think about it; Dog or not, if you are looking for a beautiful sound side home with lovely views and all the amenities, this is the place for you.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Cheri & I really appreciate our repeat guests and take their suggestions to heart. When we have a good rental season, we put some of the rent earned toward new improvements so as to keep our home fresh and in top shape. We have been fortunate that we have now had five good seasons in a row and our additions for 2012 will be a new bathroom and new carpeting in the mid and lower level BR's.

Our family and friends thouroughly enjoyed this cottage... The home is decorated nicely and has alot of room. The gameroom was a nice treat for all and we enjoyed all the perks that come with stayig in Corolla Light. The owners of this home have gone all out to make sure anyone who stays here will are sure to love it!!!! We have been going to the Outer Banks for along time and this cottage is by far the best we have ever rented!!! Thanks for a great vacation:)Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Our family of 14 stayed here last week and loved it! This is the nicest and most well cared for property we have ever rented. The owners really care about this home and the comfort and enjoyment of their guests. The home was immaculate! -the Sparkle Club was a great perk for us being able to occupy the lower floor and pool area at noon on our arrival day. Not only are there the already many listed amenities but even more small conveniences including laundry baskets, extra clothes hooks and towel bars, board games, books, extra coffee pots and a carafe, labels on light switches and kitchen drawers and more. The pool may seem small but our family had a great time in it--even played volleyball! and a bigger pool is only a few steps away. We enjoyed walking on the paths around the sound and walking and bicycling to the beach. There are many activities going on at the resort just a short trolley ride away but we mostly enjoyed just relaxing at our pool.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

About the owner: Cheri and Fred live in Cleveland, Ohio. Cheri works as a financial planning assistant and Fred works in the medical gases industry. They fell in love with the Outer Banks and especially with Corolla Light on their first visit. They take exceptional pride in the condition of their vacation home and like to hear from their guests during and after their stay.
Why the Owner Chose Corolla Light:
They purchased Soundside because they enjoy the foliage of tall trees while only being a short three blocks from the beach. The amenities of Corolla Light Resort are second to none in the OBX and the northern beaches are much less encumbered by the summer crowds.
