We were looking for a vacation getaway close to the City that we could enjoy with our two dogs. This place was perfect; the yard is completely fenced in so my husband and I were able to watch our dogs run around without worrying about them escaping. The house is very spacious and is ideally situated (only a few minutes' drive to center of town and also close to a large grocery store). We enjoyed the pool during the heat wave and would recommend this place to our friends. Definitely need to bring bug spray but that was not surprising.Recommended for: Pet owners.
Owner response: Such a helpful review; thank you for taking the time to write it. We love dogs and their humans and always hope that they too have a spa vacation! You came after the hurricane, so I am thinking that is why you had a few insects. We also are environmentalists and do not use pesticides in the garden; we find that a little lavender oil goes a long way. See you next summer if not sooner.

What a delightful place. Private, comfortable and homey. We arrived in fall weather and left with snow on the ground. The home was very clean inside and well taken care of. One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on in the master bedroom. Beautiful windows throughout and the place has a lot of character and history. Very pleasant and accomodating people to deal with making it a very nice experience. I already wanted to come back and we hadn't even left yet. We were very appreciative for the fact that they allow dogs, because it would have been hard for us to go away with out her - thank you. We hope to be back soon to enjoy the space. Thank you so much - Jen and JoeOwner response: You are so kind for taking the time to write a review, and such a wonderful one at that-many thanks! We work hard to ensure that all of our guests are comfortable and your review makes it all worth the efforts. We are absolutely delighted that you had such a lovely time and look forward to welcoming you back to Your Home in Woodstock.

This farmhouse (former stable) is absolutely perfect. Not only is the property spacious with an open lawn but also has a trim of woods around the boarder and a stream at the back end - it was a perfect place for my city dog to explore. The location is close to town but I wouldn't necessarily walk it. The home itself is decorated very nicely with furnishings that don't scream "rental" and the stunning pool is an added bonus. The owners are exceptional - extremely welcoming and helpful. It was so spectacular that I booked next summer before I left.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: You are such a wonderful person and we are so thrilled that you had a wonderful week at Your Home in Woodstock. It means a lot to us that you have taken the time to share your thoughts, so thank you so very much for your kind words. We look forward to welcoming you back next year. Have a wonderful Summer. With Love, Gabi Raven Owner

My experience here will go down as one of the best home rental experiences I have had to date. The homeowners were thoughtful, communicative, very friendly and had great recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. The property, in my opinion, is perfectly located. It is just a couple minutes drive from the town of Woodstock and all its restaurants, shopping and entertainment, yet the house is far enough outside the town that you really feel you're in the country when you're there. This feel is amplified by the 3(?) acres of wooded and open land, including a small stream, all of which is fenced in (which was a big plus for our dogs). The house is perfectly comfortable and charming. The bedrooms and baths are all comfortable and the linens and towels are very nice. The best part of the house is certainly the "great room," with its high ceilings, incredible windows and wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen is more than adequate and stocked with all of the cooking materials and kitchen appliances that you might need. We were here in the winter, so we didn't get to experience some of the other on-site amenities (chiefly the swimming pool and the adjoining barn), but we will definitely be back in all seasons! Finally, if you are heading to Woodstock in part to head over to Levon Helm's barn for a Midnight Ramble, this is the most convenient house you could possibly stay. Levon's place is on the same street...just a half-mile up the road.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1995
About the owner: We are ex-city dwellers ( from New York City and London) who purchased this home in 1995 to escape our city lives and enjoy nature, art and tranquility. We both love historic and contemporary architecture, so this house really appealed to us, especially the pool in a huge private field, which is simply spectacular.
Why the Owner Chose Woodstock:
Woodstock has all the amenities of a city with all the charm of a small country village. The area has always been home to many creative people and outdoor adventurists looking to escape to a sophisticated yet low-key country setting. The quant village has everything one would need, including a movie theatre, a book store, several fine restaurants, a gourmet food store and a wine shop. What more could you ask for?
The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
We completely renovated the house without ruining its original character, as the structure dates to 1900 and was indeed a horse stable. It is a balance of antique and modern interiors-open, bright and airy, yet with special architectural details. And the convenient location just can not be beat! You can bike or walk to town; the train to NYC (Amtrak Rhinecliff) is only 25 minutes drive, and the house sits at the base of a mountain. The property is south-facing, flat and totally private with the pool sited in a field. Windows are large and feature garden views throughout the interiors. A screened porch that overlooks the garden has wicker furniture and a dining table that seats 6-the perfect place to relax. The 'BIG DEEP' and Hudson River Beaches are close, so you can enjoy swimming, boating and fishing. Relaxed style, comfort and convenience-that is what you will experience renting our Woodstock farmhouse which we call Your Home in Woodstock.
