Owner's Map of Asheville
We are the typical family. Small children- lots of activities. I like to correspond by email so I can get to it when I can without interruption from children. Phone calls tend to play out into phone tag :)
I check email often, so I am able to get to your request fast.
We live in Florida near Jacksonville and family, and love spending time in our Asheville home when not rented. Guest after guest rave about our home, and our RATES! The house is very popular so email quickly! There is a home nearby that also rents, so if you have a big group/reunion we may be able to rent at the same time to a big group. Her home is a 4 bedroom and costs a little more.

We were looking for a relaxing location near Asheville but not too far from Asheville- and we found it. We had two families traveling from SW Virginia to Gatlinburg to visit the Smoky Mountain National Park and then on to Cherokee and up to Asheville to visit among other places, Chimney Rock, Mt. Mitchell and possibly Biltmore House. I emailed the owner through VRBO late Thursday evening and she replied back Friday morning and we were able to secure this beautiful Chalet Friday afternoon. Once our payment was made via Paypal, she quickly sent us directions to the Chalet. It is a really neat house with a great master bedroom upstairs- the master bedroom has two big closets and a great bathroom with dual shower heads and a separate private room for the toilet. It also has a neat loft area that the kids loved- they would all gather up there and play games and just hang out. Downstairs, it had two bedrooms with queen beds and also a living area with a futon bed and a really comfortable couch. There is a spacious bathroom downstairs with a washer and dryer as well. Upstairs, along with the master bedroom, there is an incredible open living area that includes a big TV (DirecTV) and a really nice kitchen. But the best thing about the chalet is the french doors that open to a great deck on the front of the house. Each morning we would open the doors and let the fresh mountain air flow in with the sunlight that was flowing through the huge windows that covered the front of the chalet- we would sit on the deck and enjoy nature. We were so tempted to just stay at the chalet instead of going to Chimney Rock and Asheville. The kids all decided they had to check out the mountain behind the chalet- so they climbed the steep mountain out back and had a ball. Both of us drove mini vans and had no problem making it up the steep gravel driveway. There was a great Ingles supermarket in Weaverville that was clean, well stocked and rather quiet. We were probably no more than 20 mins from most everything in central Asheville. On Easter morning we found a wonderful little Presbyterian church in the Dillingham community not far away and then we headed up the parkway to Mt. Mitchell and then on up the parkway to our home in SW Virginia. We could not have asked for a better location, more relaxing environment or accommodating chalet/house/cabin. We can't wait to go back again- we are already making our list of things to do around Asheville next time we go!

My fiancée and I spent weeks going over potential locations for our honeymoon. We wanted an attractive mountain getaway that provided plenty of privacy. When all was said and done, this chalet appeared the most appealing. The tasteful decorations, beautiful vistas, and size of the house all contributed to our decision. Furthermore, the owner of the property answered all our questions and was very friendly. To our delight, we discovered that the website photos accurately reflected the rental’s appearance and amenities. The property was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The chalet’s location provided us with the best of both worlds: a sense of complete isolation and only a 20-minute trip to Asheville (which provided for a couple short, scenic drives into downtown for dinner dates). Our experience at the chalet was incredibly pleasant and relaxing! Just going back to the website and looking at the pictures brings back many fond memories. We would love to return sometime in the future. And we would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative!
