We arrived at the Cliffs with a bit of trepidation having read the review of the renter staying before us posted on this website. However what we found could not have been any more different than what was conveyed in that review. Makes us wonder if they were even staying in the same condo. This unit at the Cliffs Club is a stunning 4 bedroom condo situated right on the cliff overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. We have traveled all over the world for the last 35 years and have been blessed to stay in over 65 countries and my husband and I will say with the utmost truth that this view and condo IS BY FAR the best we have even stayed in. The view is to die for. The Cliffs property is fantastic. The management is second to none and made us feel like family. But it was this condo, that made us never want to leave. In fact we have already contacted the owner and booked 2 weeks around Christmas for the next four years. The owners were a joy to deal with. The washer and dryer were brand new. The walls were freshly painted, bright and cheery. The furnishings made us feel like we were old Hawaiian Plantation owners sipping drinks while watching the sunset. And oh what a sunset sitting right on one of your two lanais (porches). Dozens and dozens of people would drive up, park their cars and walk out to see the very same sunset that we were seeing sitting comfortably on our lanai in extremely comfortable lanai furnishings that were obviously brand new. Frankly, we think the owner underprices this unit given what you get for the dollar. We looked all around Kauai and the North Shore and you will NOT find a better condo anywhere even at twice the price...we know...we looked. If you have a group of 4-12 people (family or friends...there was plenty of privacy), we HIGHLY recommend this condo at the Cliffs Club. There simply is no better value for the vacation dollar. Even if the previous review were accurate (which I highly doubt given what we saw), I can tell you the unit was in outstanding condition with many things new. We were also told that even more improvements were coming like new kitchen floors and hardwood floors. We can't wait to get back next year and see it. This unit is now our annual home away from home! All remarks made by the vacationer of the above date are highly exaggerated. However, to correct any problems the condo has ungone a full renovation and I assure you is in Tip Top shape. All matters mentioned have been corrected and/or have been newly replaced. Most vacations are kind enough to let the owner or rental agent know when there is a problem so it can be immediately corrected, but not this malicious person. Rental condos usually have owners living on the mainland and if a problem occurs how else can it be repaired if the owner is not notified by the person finding the problem? The condo is delightful, clean, comfortable and any vacationer would find it so. Please read beyond the nasty review to see what others have had to say about their stay in this unit. The pros - THE VIEW! amazing expansive views from the kitchen and living room. We greatly enjoyed our breakfast on the balcony. (warrants a star) The furniture - Not spectacular, but comfortable and fit with the decor Though The Cliffs is an older condo project (~'80s), the grounds are in amazing shape and the staff is quite friendly and hard working. The cons - Nearly every outside wall corner in the main floor showed exposed sheetrock and busted plaster with exposed corner-strips. The master bath was unusable because of the calcium-caked shower head spraying water into a tub which would drain incredibly slow. The drain stop hardware was loose/rusted and resting in the bottom of the tub. The toilet would flush, but required several minutes of jiggling in order to get it to stop filling. Also - loudest toilet I have ever heard! (strange.. I know). The door to the master BR has a broken latch and is cracked vertically.. and was simply painted over some time ago and that was that; it will not close unless you shove something against the base to wedge it. All throughout, the paint is blemished; from the minor scuff to sections where large areas are peeled. The carpet is in serious need of a good cleaning and re-stretching.. not sure if it is too far past its prime but definately needs some attention. The kitchen floor was permanently spotted/stained all over; looked dirty even though we tried to clean it and it was indeed clean. The TVs are quite small... and standard Def in the BR. The LR will do Hi-def but for DVDs only.. CATV it is configured for standard. The wierd thing is that the TV is stuffed in a closet space and it cannot be viewed unless you are sitting on one small section of the couches. It cannot be moved outward to allow for others to view it either. After we bought more batteries for the remote, we got it working; although many of the buttons on the remote would not work (especially the down-VOL.. AARGH!) The final straw was discovering the heating element in the dryer was out. We packed lightly anticipating using it, and by the end of the second day we had towels and clothes draped over every piece of furniture trying to dry them. Thankfully we were relocated to a very well maintained unit for the last few days of our trip. The property manager worked well with us, but this is one unit we would never stay in or recommend to others again.

Best Place On the Island

The absolute best place on the island to stay! Unblievable views of the ocean from multiple rooms, VERY comfortable and large rooms, with pleny of space for up to 8 people! Having a washer and dryer ended up being a much bigger convenience than we could have imagined! We will alway stay here when we return to Kauai!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great time at the Cliffs. The location and unit were perfect for us and the staff very helpful. The activities director made planning events easy. We are looking forward to returning.
