Located in the most historic neighborhood of Grand Lake's old rustic summer homes. This is an artist's house, simple, spacious and comfortable, in a special, beautiful place. It is very private and quiet, a short walk to both lakes and the town of Grand Lake For location, click on map link below.
It's a great place to just relax and read by the fire or in the hammock... or to pursue a favorite outdoor sport and enjoy a meal at home later. There is plenty of opportunity and space to do both.
Walk or ski out the front door into Rocky Mountain National Park, along the Shadow Mountain East Shore Trail or to the Historic Fire Station on top. Launch your kayak 200 yards away at the Hilltop boat launch onto Shadow Mountain Lake and access Grand Lake through the channel or walk across the foot bridge to the public docks at Point Park on Grand Lake. It is a short 15 minute walk to the town of Grand Lake and a five minute drive to the Western Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and North and East Inlet trail heads. There is great fly fishing here at the headwaters of the Colorado River. Old timbering roads nearby provide interesting and scenic mountain biking high into the mountains. In winter, it is just 45 minutes by car to Winter Park Ski Resort for downhill skiing and ten minutes by car to the Grand Lake Ski Touring Center. Watch moose, fox, deer, birds in the front yard or drive up Trail Ridge Road to see elk and bighorn sheep.
