Location: The Marais, oldest and most colorful neighborhood in Paris. This apartment has an unobstructed view of the Seine and the Isle Saint Louis, and is just a block from Metro Line 1, providing easy access to most of the city's historic monuments, from the Bastille Opera to the Louvre to the Champs Elysees. It was built just inside the medieval city walls, the best-preserved remnant still visible down the block.
Description: On the fourth floor, with elevator, of a late nineteenth century building, this centrally air-conditioned (!) 31 square meter (336 square feet) apartment is bathed in light from three large south-facing windows. Antique oak floors have been lovingly restored, and the kitchen and bath are finished with elegant porcelain tiles which echo the pale hues of a 17th century Parisian limestone wall, a portion of which is exposed in a decorative niche. There is more than adequate storage for luggage and clothing making the apartment comfortable and practical for a stay of any duration. Decoration and furnishings include raw silk drapes with sheers, comfortable sofa-bed to accommodate a third person, dining table and chairs with seating for four, and a writing desk with hi-speed computer connection. Built-in niches at the head of the bed are equipped with switches for reading lamps and room lighting, and a digital alarm clock. Other amenities include a washer/dryer, dishwasher and flat screen TV with CNN, BBC and other premium channels.
We offer FULL CONCIERGE services - we will meet you at arrival to your apartment, and we are available 24/7 during your stay for questions or advice. We also offer CHAUFFEUR service to and from the airport (90E/one way/2 guests) - direct from customs with a sign with your name on it, to the apartment, luggage in hand!

We have stayed here twice now, our last time was back in July 2011. Our second time was just as wonderful as the first time, if not more since we knew what to expect and where we would be and we didn't have to be nervous. Jim and his staff were just as wonderful as the first time. When we got to the studio Marc was waiting for us, when he handed us the keys and said "welcome back home," it was really heartwarming. The studio was just as nice and clean as the year before. I'm planning on taking my granddaughter this spring. My husband and I will go back this summer and we're looking forward to dealing with Jim and his staff again.

We had the best time staying in the Charlemagne in the Marais district. The apartment was well appointed and convenient to the metro, buses and the Seine. The concierge, chauffeur services, etc were all exceptionally professional and the information that was provided about restaurants, patisseries, things to do to get oriented, etc were all useful. From the moment we arrived at the Airport in Paris and met our wonderful driver, to arriving in the Marais and meeting Marc, the weariness of the flight lifted as we stepped into our clean, beautifully appointed, quiet apartment. It had everything we needed and if there was something missing all we needed to do was to call. The neighborhood was wonderful with great shopping , amazing food and close to everything including the St. Paul Metro stop to make our daily excursions seamless and easy. We hope to return soon and have many wonderful memories in the meantime. Jim and his staff have attended to every detail--providing the perfect way to relax and enjoy Paris!

We stayed at 16 Rue Charlemagne the last week of August, 2011, and it was a great choice. Having never rented a Paris vacation rental before, I was nervous about doing business with someone overseas, especially given the large cash deposits and cash payments many other Paris vacation rentals demanded. OurHomeinParis was a much better choice for us. The company is based in the U.S., accepts credit cards, and was a much easier and convenient business to deal with if your an American in Paris. The apartment was great, exactly as described. It was perfect for a couple. It was clean, well stocked, and the Marais neighborhood is great - convenient to the Metro and any attraction in Paris. The personal concierge, Marc, was terrific. He is in Paris and accessible a phone call away. We were corresponding with him well in advance of our vacation and got us reservations at a very popular restaurant that is hard to get in. We cannot wait to get back to Paris and would definitely use OurHomeinParis.com again.

We just spent eight nights in this wonderful apartment. Not only is the space comfortable and beautiful, our concierge, Marc, made our stay even more perfect, if possible. We appreciated the lift but the beautiful stairway helped us work off some of the delicious food from the bistro downstairs! We are still dreaming about our stay. Love the neighborhood , too. We stayed in this lovely apartment during our first visit to Paris. It was the perfect romantic setting for our 25th wedding anniversary. The unit is bright, clean and very comfortable, beautiful antique oak pieces add to the charm. Mathias was very helpful, greeting us at the door w/ keys and a lovely bottle of wine ! We stayed in this cozy studio for 2 weeks in August, enjoyed every minute of it. We loved it so much that we have booked this same studio again for 17 days in July this year. It truly is the perfect location with the Metro on the left and bus stop on the right both right outisde of your back entrance. Metro is fun and safe, but if you take Bus 69 you get to see so much more, it is like a free sightseeing tour. You can also walk to most of the major sights. And of course, the bakeries, three of them within a couple minutes of each other, olala! Also groceries and restaurants. We were nervous about renting an apartment, but dealing with Jim and his staff took all the fears away. We missed our flight to Paris because of bad weather, it was middle of the night in Paris and could not warn the concierge and the driver. I called Audey in Atlanta and he took care of it all. When we got there our driver was waiting and at the studio Mathias was waiting to welcome us. Having the concierge service is great, all you have to do is pick up the phone and push one button for either Marc or Mathias. We can't wait to get back to our home away from home and visit that most beautiful city again.

Amazing, charming and romantic! This was my first time in Paris and what a wonderful place for our honeymoon. From booking to departure this studio was the best choice. Location fantastic steps away from the Metro, Food store, and Restaurants not to mention the view. Mathias was fabulous, his recommendations of restaurants and river cruise was spot on. He made our stay even more enjoyable than we ever could have imagined. The apartment was just the right size for two. Kitchen and bathroom updated beautifully even a towel warmer. Washer and dryer a big plus. Also the building has an elevator small but better than walking up 4 floors at the end of a long day. This unit has absolutely nothing missing. Thank you all so very much for everything Audey, Rick, Jim, and most of all Mathias. We hope to return very soon

The Rue Charlemagne apartment is perfect for two persons. Clean, light and airy, all of the appliances work well and are easy to use. It is also quite a romantic room. The concierge, Mathias, is really great. I could not recommend the place more.
