My husband Mike and I stayed at a lovely condo in Tahoe Donner for 8 nights over Christmas 2010. We live in Perth Western Australia and were looking for a 'White Christmas' experience. Wow! What a wonderful experience we had. With bumper snow surrounding us we were so cosy inside! What more could we ask for? The condo is gorgeous. Very comfortable and every time I turned around thinking "I wonder if there is a ?" it was there. For us the skiing at Tahoe donner was ideal. Being in our early 50's we had lost our ski legs a bit over the years. You don't get a lot of practice when you live in such a hot climate. We found our ski legs again at Tahoe Donner and had a fantastic time with the rentals and ski slopes a few metres away. What an easy way to ski. We skied on wide open slopes on feet of fresh powder snow! It was even turned on with fresh powder on Christmas Day. The only down side for us was being away from our kids, who are now in their 20's for Christmas. That was relieved to a certain extent from the great internet connection. We chatted regularly to family on Facebook and MSN messenger. What a great invention. We found the owner Trudy very helpful in giving us all the info and instructions for use of the Condo. This was through emails mainly. Once we got there everything went according to plan. We arrived during a massive snow storm in the Seirra Nevadas and Trudy emailed and gave us safety information about services to ring to keep safe on the journey. All the roads are very well maintained and we were 'dug out' every morning with the paths and steps cleared as well. You do really need to rent a car if you are a tourist because there are no shops on the hill. There is a great Safeway' at Truckee about 5 miles away at the bottom of the hill where you can buy all your groceries and everything you'll need for your stay. This is a lovely little town which has an interesting history. The Trout Creek resort, with outdoor spas in the snow, was just minutes away as well. It was a magic experience sitting out in the snow in a 105 degree hot tub.(Small fee) There is also a members only facility metres away from the condo that has a lovely indoor spa, pool table, computer, games, etc.(Free) Anyway we would recommend Trudy's condo to anyone, except maybe couples looking for a raging nightlife, because there is none on the mountain. You would have to drive into town for that. Mike and I would definitely love to return one day and maybe take the family.

This one bedroom condo was perfect for us to be near Truckee, yet tucked up on the mountain with wonderful views. A full size kitchen opened to the living room with a fireplace was much better than staying at a hotel. We look forward to our next visit. The Allen's Kohala Ranch Big Island of Hawaii

We rented it for our family of four because our girls had a soccer tournament in Truckee. It was perfect for us! Everything was clean and updated. Everything was great and Trudy's directions about the property made everything stress free. The kids even got to swim after a day on the soccer fields. Thanks for everything we hope to rent it again just to relax next time.

This was the ideal location with a family of four with two young children taking ski lessons. The condo was clean and well kept. The kitchen was perfect for cooking all our meals (except you'll need to bring all your own spices). The kids took the bedroom and my husband and I slept on the Aero mattress in the living room which may of had a slow leak. Trudy (the owner) provided excellent customer service throughout...she'll be checking on that inflatable mattress. We were pleasantly surprised to have cable which I don't think was listed in her description. We definitely will return.

This condo was a great experience from first to last. Trudy provided very good customer service during the booking of the unit. She responded promptly at each turn in the process and all went very smoothly. Directions were excellent and the condo itself was very cozy and comfortable for the two of us. The decor was very tasteful and fitting for a mountain getaway. The kitchen was well stocked and very functional. The location was excellent for trying both nordic and alpine skiing. We heartily recommend this condo for another couple and it will be at the top of our list when we return to this area.

The condo was a wonderful choice for our family with 2 kids under 5, who were able to share the quality inflatable airbed. The kitchen is exceptionally nice, and the owner is very organized with all the information you would need, both before you arrive, and in an information binder. The queen bed was very comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water and water pressure in the shower. Toiletries, lots of towels, and hairdryer were available. Note, there is no dining "table", just a tall countertop with bar stools, so take care with smaller children. We had to make a makeshift eating area using a placemat on the stone fireplace hearth area for our smaller one to sit on the floor and eat. Also, it would be great if the owner could include a step-stool for the bathroom sink, as it is very high for kids to wash hands or brush teeth. There unfortunately happened to be quite a bit of noise from the condo upstairs during our stay, but the convenient location, roomy layout, and great kitchen would make us highly recommend this condo. Thanks to Trudy, the owner, for a great place to enjoy family time on the ski slopes.

This is an incredible condo that offers much more than we paid for. It is very comfortable and located right next to Tahoe Donner ski area. It has ample of space for entertainment, not only for chit chatting but also for cooking and dining. Definitely recommended for families with 2 kids or a small group of friends like a couple and a friend or 2 couples who do not mind sleeping in the living room.

We had a fantastic stay at Trudy's Tahoe Donnor condo. We actually made the arrangements while on the road but Trudy worked with us to make sure everything worked out great. She was even kind enough to ship all of the stuff we left behind. The condo was wonderful. It is very well kept, comfortable and cozy. The large, modern kitchen provides every amenity of home. The condo is also very kid friendly. We had our almost-two-year old with us and she had a blast. There are playgrounds all over the Tahoe Donner neighborhood. The pools weren't open while we were there but I imagine they are packed during the summer months. Overall, it was definitely a wonderful time. The best thing I can say is we would definitely stay there again if we go back to Tahoe. Thanks, Trudy.

It's cute and cozy place. My husband and I are avid cyclists and it was in a perfect location for easy access to bike lanes and good rides. We really enjoyed our stay.

I stayted at this condo in Truckee, for three nights during the Fourth of July weekend. I found the condo to be in very good conditions, very comfortable, very clean, very neat and very cute. One of my friends slept on the EZ Bed and found it very comfortable and easy to set up. We made omelettes and found it very convenient that there were cooking utensils and salt and pepper, among other things. The condo is very close to Donner Lake and other hiking trails, Kings Beach and even Tahoe City. I would definitely go back to Truckee/Tahoe and will definitely stay at this place again. My boyfriend and I just spent 5 nights in this wonderful condo in Truckee. It was spotlessly clean and has every possible convenience one could imagine. The host provided information for any question a traveler could have from places to eat, to thorough information about activities in the area. All the information was extremely well organized. I would highly recommend this condo!!!! This property would not be good for someone who is mobility impaired.

we really enjoyed our stay at trudy's condo at lake tahoe. our kids loved the condo and kept saying that it felt just like being at home! the condo was close to all the winter activities that we wanted to go to as well as restaurants and grocery stores (like safeway!). our kids said it was the best tahoe trip ever!! we hope to stay at trudy's condo again! thank you trudy!

Thank you Trudy, this is a lovely place you have! Condo is very cozy, clean and well organized. Bed is very comfortable (even my husband noticed that!). It also has very convenient location: walk to the lifts, short drive to the restaurants and great views. Kids had lots of fun skiing as well as playing ping pong at Tahoe Donner club. We all enjoyed our short vacation and definitely will come back next winter. Thank you Trudy!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Tahoe-Donner rental. The decor with hardwood floors, concrete counter-tops, state of the art appliances, etc. was better than expected. This unit is perfect for 2 - 4 people, and is clean, comfortable and cozy.

Everything about this chalet is perfect, the bed is comfortable, everything feels modern and new, yet cozy, comfortable, and clean, it's literally right on the ski hill, and the price is perfect. Our family of four couldn't have been happier (5 yr old and 2 year old girls). We loved relaxing in front of the crackling fire, sipping hot cocoa on the back porch, walking to the ski hill, swimming at the nearby Recreation Center with it's heated pool and fabulous jacuzzi's, and exploring adorable down town Truckee. Lunch at the eclectic "Squeezed In" was delicious and a unique, must-try dining experience. We'll definitely be back. A perfect place to stay while our daughter's learn to ski. Five stars!!!! The first thing that is striking upon entering the front door of the Chalet is the incredible cleanliness. Having traveled a lot, it means so much to be able to stay in a beautifully appointed and pristine environment. In addition, there are plenty of cleaning supplies to make sure that the Chalet is kept clean. Concrete countertops, Wine Cooler, several different heaters in the living space, all created a warm and elegant experience. I would absolutely recommend the Donner Chalet. It is also very "kid friendly" with a game box filled with all kinds of games and decks of cards. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We stayed at the Donner Chalet for our wedding anniversary weekend and it really met our expectations in every way. It was a cosy, nicely decorated condo with a nice view and very close to the ski area. We brought our 2 small kids (age 4 and 1) and the condo was big enough to accommodate all 4 of us. My daughter did ski school for the first time and loved it. It was a really memorable weekend and we would definitely consider coming back. Thanks Trudy!

Thank you, Trudy, for an absolutely wonderful getaway! As a single mom looking for an affordable last minute escape to the mountains, I truly appreciate your offering your condo in the Tahoe/Donner area. We had the best time! We skied at night, took a lesson, swam in the spa, played fuze ball and ping-pong, went to "trivia night" at the pizza place, and splurged on the most excellent dinner at "The Lodge" restaurant. This was the second time we stayed in this condo, and I still only have good things to say about it. We enjoyed snowboarding at the Tahoe Donner Ski Hill in the daytime and relaxing by the fire watching DVDs and TV at night. The condo is so cozy. We went to Boreal one day to snowboard there. It's only about a 10-15 minute drive and offers more runs. I would recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay in the Truckee area. We went up a night early and got a hotel room in Truckee that was double the price of the condo. This condo is definately the way to go.

Very nice updated cozy TD condo, excellent for couples or young smaller families. Excellent for a couples getaway. Comfortable living room furnishings and nice queen sized bed. No TV in the bedroom (my wife likes to fall asleep with the TV on). Easy parking and access (first floor). New kitchen/bath cabinets, counters and appliances make the kitchen nice. Limited (typical 4-5) plates, cups, glasses makes it hard to have multiple meals without running the dishwasher (even with only a couple), you may want to bring some disposable glasses and plates. The spa in the condo owners building was nice. We brought our own sheets and towels to do self-cleaning and it made it very easy as we did not have to wash anything there. As this is purely a rental property, the kitchen is somewhat less stocked than some rentals that have more direct owner use; ask Trudi/Mark about what's there and what you should bring beyond the basics if you are going to cook a lot. Not a negative, but if you are going to cook more than basic meals, you may need to bring some spices and other things. BBQ available in common area. The unit does not have a true kitchen "table", rather counter seating for four. Not an issue for us (a couple), While we did not ski (biked to Tahoe City as it was October), this would be a great family condo with small children learning to ski. Definitely would rent again for the tw of us getting away.

The views at sunset from the condo are so nice, and it was very peaceful right by the slopes in the summer. We enjoyed being a 10 minute drive from Donner Memorial State Park.

The condo is great for family of 4. Extremely clean, very comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay there. It is just on the slopes , very close to Truckee , Northstar and other ski resorts. Condo is newly remodeled and very peaceful. We are looking forward to coming back there.

Great place, even has large, wine chiller next to fridge, all very current appliances, very comfortable and great location. Highly recommend. Get trail maps from town and you are all set for hiking and bird watching.

Hi Trudy; Your condo was so cute and comfortable not to mention affordable, there are so many cool hikes right near the condo and the shops and restaurants close also. We also got to go to the casinos in Reno while we were there because they were just a short jaunt away. Thank you for sharing your place with us we would like to come back soon. Loved the fireplace and plenty of free wood was so convenient.

Very Cozy, We are not Skiers But we enjoyed our time in Truckee, we spent our 11th anniv. there, with everything you could think of nearby made our time there very nice, the amenities of the condo were excellent, was able to make a nice romantic dinner for my wife, and spend a lovely evening together, the condo itself is really nice and well kept, very clean, and everything works, bed is comfortable, showers good, and kitchen is fully equiped, we will definetly be back,

This is a very lovely condo. It's very clean. So clean I had no problem allowing my 9 mos baby crawl on the floor. Also it was so convenient with a kitchen and close to the slopes. We definately will be back!

We brought our two young kids to stay at this condo and I must say that the location of the condo to the slopes took more than half of the work out of the whole skiing process! I've never stayed at a more convenient location for skiing in the Tahoe area. The condo was very comfortable and secure and had all of the amenities that we needed for a great stay. The kids also loved the fact that there was a great hill for sledding right behind the condo, so their snow fun continued well after the lifts closed. This allowed some relaxation time for my husband and me while the kids played until they dropped! Easy access to shops and restaurants in Truckee for evening outings. We were very happy with these accommodations and plan to stay again next season.
