Come enjoy this 5 bedroom, 2 story home with a mountain feel. You can sit, relax, and roast chestnuts in the beautiful field stone fireplace on the main floor or bask in the warmth of the wood burning stove or play a game of pool on the lower level. Start your morning off right with coffee on the front deck, which spans the full front of the house, and end the evening in the enclosed patio off the dining room. Both provide wonderful views of the surrounding woods where the deer and turkey are your neighbors.
The main floor has 3 bedrooms and a full size bath. The living area is open to include the living room, dining room (table seating for ten) and kitchen with a breakfast bar looking onto the fireplace. Newly added broadband internet and digital expanded cable both in the living room and family room downstairs. We are also within a half hour drive to the major Pocono ski areas - Camelback (Camelbeach in the Summer), Jack Frost/Big Boulder, Elk Mountain, Shawnee and a host of other ski resorts. We are also close to Pocono Raceway, Tannersville Outlet and many other indoor/outdoor attractions of the beautiful Pocono Mountains.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2005
During a family vacation to Big Bass in early 2005, my husband and I loved the community and decided to buy. So in Novmeber 2005 we purchased this lovely 5 bedroom home so it could fit our rather large family we each come from.
Why the Owner Chose Big Bass Lake
The house is within a 1000 feet of the clubhouse if you walk through the woods across from us. The community itself is wonderful and we are looking forward to many years there with our children as they grow up.

Stayed at this cottage this winter and I have to tell you, I do not know how our stay could have been better. The Bass Lake Community is in a great location. The house is extremely comfortable and would have been able to sleep 14 comfortably. Stacey is a great host and I would rent from her again in a heartbeat.

We rented this home for a family get together and had a great time. There was plenty of room, the facilities were clean and up-to-date. We spent a lot of time using the screened in porch. We would definately come back again.

what a great house for a family retreat. we were 13 in all with plenty of space, with the game room downstairs for the kids, left the upstairs to the adults. Very impressed of how well maintained and clean the house was and all the extras that came with it, like a cell phone charger! Towels, and insect repelent.... we saw lots of deers hanging around the area. Highly recommend for a family getaway for anyone looking for some R&R.

The house was more than expected. We had 15 people in all and there didn't seem to be any crowding. The house is very well maintained (clean & up-to-date). It was a great experience and we would love to come back next year - if only there would be snow...

We had such a great time spending our weekend at the Chestnut Cottage! Easy to get to, plenty of things to do, and the house was equppied with everything you would need! There were 12 of us in all and we were all very comfortable in the house with room to spread out if we needed to, but mostly we cooked and played pool. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet place to get away with all the comforts of home. The home owners gave great info. and left things in the house for different activities and the like....would definitely stay again!

Our 2nd time around...just as fun as the first! This time we went fishing on the lakes in May! Yes, we did see deer and wild turkey in the yard! The kids... and grandparents thought it was awesome! In the evening as the bugs started to bite, the closed-in patio was perfect to hang out, play boardgames and still enjoy the fresh mountain air! Absolutely a great place to stay at anytime of the year!

We stayed here in Feb. 2006 w/ another family (the Cieri Family)...We all had an awesome time! The kids learned how to ski that weekend. So did the wives! We were so tired Saturday nite that we just ordered pizzas and etc. (from the Take-out book...Great food)and stayed in! There is so much room to spread out... the kids had their hangout area and the adults had their own space too! We loved not having to worry about bringing our own linens, like most rentals! It sure lightens up the packing load! We hope to visit again and take advantage of the lakes for fishing!

A group of 10 of us stayed here over a February weekend. The house was great-- 5 large bedrooms, including 2 with TVs. The house was very clean, which, due to a very bad experience at another rental, was something our group was sensitive to. The owners supply sheets and towels, too, which is a great bonus. All my phone calls and emails to the owners were answered promptly and everything was taken care of easily and quickly. Highly recommended-- we might even return in the summer to take advantage of the lake and summer porch!
Owner response:Of the 5 bedrooms,3 have their own TVs and plan to have that up to 4 bedrooms by the summer of 2006. Our cleaner Beth does an excellent for us and we appreciate the positive feedback..

I stayed at this house over New Year's Eve weekend for two nights! Had an amazing time!! The house was clean and big enough for our group (about 13 people). The owners have been a great help and all transactions went smoothly. I couldn't have asked for a better place! Thank you!
