Recently renovated 2600+ SF luxury home in rural Gold Canyon - on 1.25 acres, the property has natural Sonoran desert landscaping - including 15+ ft tall Saguaro cacti. The property is located off a private road, and backs to the Superstition Wilderness with a breathtaking view of the Superstition Mountains from the home. The home has fantastic views of the city lights in the distance.
The property is exceptionally quiet and peaceful, with lots of wildlife - there are no fences in the neighborhood to limit animal travels. Quail, birds, squirrels, rabbits, etc. drink from the pond/waterfall outside the back door. A major hiking trail into the Superstition Wilderness starts about 1/4 mile from the property.
The home is fully furnished through-out with contemporary furnishings. The living area has a reclining couch, reclining loveseat and 2 individual recliners - and an entertainment system complete with DirecTV satellite HDTV feed, 62" Mitsubishi HDTV, surround sound, etc. The dining area has a 110" long glass table with seating for 8. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, place settings for 8+, etc. Home has 5 bedrooms in a split plan: A huge master with king bed/chair/walk in closet/wall-mounted 42" HDTV on the West end; Two bedrooms set-up with queen beds, TV, walk in closets, and guest bathroom on the East end; One bedroom used as an office with high-speed internet/printer/laptop set-up, wall mounted TV, futon bed couch, chair on the South/front; and the 5th bedroom (off the master, far West end) used as an exercise room with mat, mirror, body ball, Schwinn Airdyne exercise bicycle, mountain views.
Property is 45 minutes east on US-60 from downtown Phoenix/Sky Harbor Airport. Easy freeway access to Chandler, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley with the US-60/101/202 freeways.

Year Purchased: 2005
I have worked in corporate America for over 20 years. I am at the end of the Baby Boomer generation, so I know how to work hard, but also play hard. My family has travelled all around the world for work and vacation since I was in grade school. When I saw this home, I knew it would be the perfect place to lay back and relax after a hard week at work, rejuvenate the mind and body. It's peaceful and quiet, even when the coyote come down to drink from our waterfall. Being out in nature, hiking or just relaxing, gives me a much needed change of pace.
Why the Owner Chose Gold Canyon
I bought this home so my family could get out of the rat race of the city, but still be close enough to all that the metropolitan Phoenix area has to offer. I set up the home office so I could telecommute and it's worked out great. The 62" HDTV w/DirecTV makes watching sports or movies so enjoyable that it's hard to leave the reclining couches some days.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We set up the home with everything we would ever want in a home. We kept the rooms simple yet more than adequate for entertaining. People can telecommute and still enjoy some vacation time. The rooms are spread out so everyone can have their own space to read, watch TV, do office work or exercise. This is the perfect retirement home. It's quiet yet only minutes to golf, shopping or entertainment venues.
