We stayed in the house last year (2010) in August. My husband and I with two other couples (including two kids and grandma) had an awesome time. The house was close enough to the beach that we would walk/jog to the ocean in the morning. The outdoor showers were great for cleaning off the sand. The bikes were an added surprise as we used those to bike around the community. The kitchen had all the utensils and amenities needed to cook any meals we wanted. There was a nice card table used for game playing and cards. We were very comfortable with 7 adults and 2 kids and had a great time! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy this treasure!
Owner response:God bless!

My family and I love this house, and have sent many wonderful weeks there. Now, my quilting friends and I spend a long weekend there during late Jan/ early Feb and it is a wonderful post holiday gathering that we all look forward too. Easy to make meals for large groups, with fully equiped kitchen, great beds, very soft, Closets large enough to sleep in!! Wonderful location on Island, near food stores and wonderful beach.

Mr. H. - Thank you for sharing your HHI home with our family. We had a memorable time and truly appreciated your hospitality. You don't say enough in your description to show the charm of your home, so I will try to pass on what I think potential renters would like to know. Beds - very comfy. Rooms - very spacious (two identical over size MB's, besides a big guest room). Showers - great water pressure. Bikes in the garage - so cool to ride any time day or night we wanted. Beach - end of Port Tack and beautiful (could not get the kids off of it). Outside shower - concealed and with hot water if needed. Huge yard, so glad you kept it natural with all of those trees. Private - not too close to neighbors and plenty of vegitation in between. "The Book" - one you made and came in so handy with detailed descriptions of the island and great hints. You also make a renter really feel like a guest and enjoy their vacation! Fishing dock - even better in person - wide water. Beach chairs (terry cloth and easy carry sacks), huge beach umbrella, plenty of cards, games, some crayons. Palmetto Dunes - GORGEOUS area and neighborhood. Safe streets - could let the kids bike easily with hardly any car traffic. Security gates and patrols. We went in July and were prepared for "pre-historic-size" bugs - nothing. Very clean home and soft bedding. Very nice BIG grill on the deck - enough to hold racks and racks of juicy ribs. And finally, we are VRBO veterans and have been disappointed before with property not what we expected and lists of extreme rules and regulations to spoil your good time. Your place was welcoming and comfortable, priced right, and our whole family (doggies too) were able to enjoy time together. Thanks a lot!

It was one of the most enjoyable weeks I ever had at the beach. The kids enjoyed feeding the turtles (The turtles, after getting some hot dog pieces, refused to eat the bread!). The dock was a place that I just liked to sit on in the morning to watch the white gulls stand in the fresh water lake and "fish". The serenity is precious! Wonderful, wonderful neighborhood. The regulars are very friendly. I liked having a garage to park in when it was raining!. Put me down for labor day week.
