Welcome to our Island Cottage, a cozy retreat just three and a half miles south of San Pedro Town on beautiful Ambergris Caye. Set in a quiet neighborhood only steps from the warm water of the Caribbean, the cottage is a perfect place for relaxing and soaking up the island sun.
The Island Cottage is a one bedroom, one bathroom home with comfortable accommodations for two adults and one child. The large fenced yard is only 100 feet from the beach.
The air-conditioned bedroom has an inviting queen-size bed topped with quality linens, feather pillows, and duvet. An armoire and dresser provide plenty of space for storing personal belongings. French doors lead out to the large sun-drenched deck.
The main room features a well equipped kitchen, dining area and comfortable living area with sofabed. The room has air conditioning but you may prefer to open the large windows that line the front of the house and let in the gentle Caribbean breeze.

Why the Owner Chose San Pedro
The Island Cottage was a small home for sale next to our house. We decided to buy it, renovate it, and share it with others!
The Unique Benefits of this House
The south end of Ambergris Caye offers something unique. Although the property is 15 minutes (3.5 miles) from town, it is located in a peaceful neighborhood with little to none road traffic or pedestrian traffic on the beachfront. To find a similar neighborhood on the north end of the island, you would have to travel 10 miles out of town and travel strictly by boat. And although this property sits about 150' off the beach, it enjoys all the benefits of a beachfront property. Ocean views from almost every window, ocean breezes, private use of pier, beach.

A Veritable Piece of Paradise

My husband, 20 year old daughter, and I came to spend the Christmas holidays in the tropical paradise of Belize, and couldn't have been more delighted with the Island Cottage. "Charming" is the best word to describe the house ... it is beautifully appointed, cozy, and is wondrously located in the quiet south end of Ambergris Caye. Our hosts were delightful people, helpful but unobtrusive, kind and friendly. They provide bicycles and a kayak for exploration of beach and water, and encourage the use of their shady dock and beach chairs. Every morning we were greeted by their two friendly and gentlemanly dogs, before sipping fresh juice on the patio. For activities, we would ride a golf cart into town, down hard-packed sandy roads, replete with wondrous views. For relaxation, we stayed at the cottage and snorkeled off the pier, relaxed in the sun, or snoozed in hammocks. Our holiday vacation was wonderful, and the Island Cottage was a big part of it.

We really enjoyed staying at the cottage. It was very clean and well maintained. It was exactly as stated in the description. Joanne was very welcoming and a great host. We loved Belize and would like to return. The cottage is quite a distance from town, but if you want to be secluded, have quiet nights, and no distractions then this is a wonderful place.

My wife and I stayed at the Island Cottage in Feb and loved it. It is quiet, secluded, and was perfect for us. We wanted a relaxing place away from everything and that's exactly what we got. The private dock was our favorite hangout. We spent countless hours just taking in the sun and of course checking out all the sea creatures around the dock. Joanne and Josh were great hosts, and provided tons of information to help navigate around the island. San Pedro and the surrounding area is phenomenal, we can't wait to come back.

You need to enjoy Belize now, as commercial development has not spoiled it at all. If you are a naturalist, or like to snorkel, hunt or fish; this is the place to go. And, the Cozy Island cottage is charming and quiet. What a relaxing week we had, and Josh and Joanne are the perfect hosts. They will give you space, or let you know where to go on the island to have a blast.

The Island Cottage on Ambergris Caye was exactly as advertised. A cozy retreat set in a quiet neighborhood only steps from the warm water of the Caribbean. A perfect place for relaxing and soaking up the island sun. I honestly couldn't have put it better myself. The cottage was clean and well-equipped and only steps to the beach and a great dock where pelicans came to visit all day long. The cottage is just 3.5 km from town - so close enough to go in whenever you want but far enough away that at night all you heard was silence. Jo and Josh are fantastic hosts and can arrange almost anything. I can't remember the last time I came home so relaxed from a vacation. We will definitely be heading back for another visit very soon.

The Island Cottage exceeded all of our expectations! I thought the online pictures were beautiful, but to see it in person was even more beautiful. The cottage was cozy, very clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. The location is off the beaten track so it is very peaceful and quiet, but an easy bike ride into town for shopping, restaraunts etc. Joanne was the best hostess, very accomodating and accessible for questions/suggestions on places to shop or eat, tours etc. I would suggest this for couples wanting a relaxing get away, or even a small family as the private beach and pier would be perfect. I strongly recommend this property!
