The calm, inviting setting is the first thing that will strike you about this apartment. The refined decor, a mix of antiques and modern furniture, is the second most remarkable feature. The apartment overlooks a small courtyard so quiet you can lean out the window of the living/dining room in the mornings and hear birds chirp. Close your eyes and the smell of fresh baguettes will make you think you're in a tiny village. But Notre Dame, the epicenter of the city for tourists, is only a 20 minute stroll away.
From the Closerie des Lilas (an old Hemingway hangout) to the posh restautant La Couple, a wide range of coffee houses, restaurants and shopping boutiques -- including some of the best known venues in the city -- are located within 1-2 blocks. You can get to the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre by metro in 15 to 20 minutes.
After a day touring the City of Light, you'll be relieved to return to the apartment. The size is perfect for a couple or family with a child. With a comfortable queen-sized bed in the bedroom and a futon that converts into a double bed in the living/dining room, it can sleep up to 4 people. It has all possible amenities that you would need and feels comfortingly like home. The kitchen equipped to allow you to prepare dinner at home. The bookshelf is well-stocked with Paris guidebooks and novels. A coin-operated laundr is next door.
The apartment is also easily accessible. Travelers arriving by air can get to the apartment from Charles De Gaulle airport on the RER train in 30 minutes. We are 3 blocks from the Port Royal RER station and 1/2 block from the Raspail metro station.
The owner, an American writer, feels that such a wonderful city should have a place that is elegant but accessible for budget conscious travelers. To keep the rates down, we do not take credit cards. For your convenience, payments can be made by check, bank transfer, money order or Paypal.
