Also found in Sarasota are numerous performing arts centers and theatres including the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, G-Wiz, Ritz Carlton for afternoon high tea, or just flat out relax.
Venice Beach - For those of you wanting to collect shark teeth. The shark teeth cover the shoreline and people come from all over the world to collect them! The historical downtown Venice is only two miles south and provides quaint antique shops. Fish from Sharky's Pier for some huge exotic fish.
Nokomis Beach - famous sunsets... EVERY WEDNESDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT on the beach is "drums by the sunset" which you have to experience in order to appreciate the beauty of it. Anyone who has a drum... any kind of drum... will bring it to the beach where a big group of local drummers drum their drums until the sun sets (starting an hour before sundown).
