We had the pleasure of staying in this apartment for a week in May. The location is perfect and steps away from the metro, shopping, restaurants, market, attractions and nightlife. It is exactly as pictured with all the conveniences of home. The bed and furnishings are very comfortable. I look forward to returning.

The apartment was as photographed - we were not disappointed. It is a well decorated and laid out apartment, just a few floors' walk up. The building was quiet and well equipped and the location was ideal. It's easy to walk to most of Paris' main attractions and if you aren't inclined to walk, the nearest Metro station is just a couple of blocks away. You have the Marais on your doorstep, with its great shopping and restaurants. There is also a fabulous hotel across the road if you are travelling with others who prefer to be in a hotel. We traveled with two children aged 5 and 3 and the accommodation was perfect for us. There was space for them to play and draw and there are two nearby shops to get food and snacks if required. They were able to go to bed in a separate room when we stayed up. Much better than a hotel! We have already tried to re-book the apartment and would definitely recommend the apartment and Cecile to anyone. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Fabulous time in the Marais

Arrived here after 28 hours of travel and were very pleased with our accommodation. The narrow entrance and stairs, were initially a bit off putting however the actual apartment was delightful. It was very well equipped with everything we could have wanted. Television instructions would have been helpful as we couldn't get it to work at times. Other than this we had a fabulous stay and would recommend to anyone wanting a centrally located, reasonably priced (for Paris) apartment. After having previously stayed in the Latin Quarter we found the location so close to the metro at Hotel de Ville made it much easier to move around Paris.

My husband and I stayed for a week at Cecile's place. It was an amazing location, the bed is very very comfortable as well as all her amenities. So centrally located, that you can literally step outside your door and sit at many cafes. She makes it very easy, as she leaves you books, information on the area, and anything you would need and more! My husband and I use VRBO all the time, but we are definitely planning on going back to Paris again, and staying one of many of Cecile’s beautiful places. Highly recommend and so much better than staying at a hotel!

My husband and I just spent 10 days in Paris to celebrate my 40th birthday. We stayed at Cecile's one bedroom Marais apartment. It was the perfect place to call home during our stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The bathroom afforded long baths after long days walking the city streets. We loved the split level living - the comfort of the living space downstairs and the separate sleeping space upstairs. Cecile has impeccable taste. Nothing is over the top, but everything is clean, beautifully stylized and well thought-out. Thank you Cecile for the best birthday ever! We will be back. No question!

My husband and I decided to go to Paris for our belated honeymoon last fall. I spent hours trying to find places for us to stay and feel so fortunate to have come across Cecile's apartments (like many people, it's a little nerve racking trying to find places to stay because you never know if what you see is what you will get and where you stay can have such an impact on how much you enjoy your trip). Everything at this apartment was perfect. My initial inquiry and all follow ups were answered very promptly, the check in and check out process was smooth and the apartment was just as wonderful in person as it looked in the pictures! The location of the apartment was even better than we could have imagined - there was a small market just a few doors down from the apartment where we could get groceries and just a few steps the other direction were cafes and restaurants. It was such a fun area to stay in. I would highly recommend Cecile to anyone planning a trip to Paris. I hope that one day my husband and I are able to visit again and this time I already know where we will stay. Thank you so much again!

Just returned from a lovely stay in Paris with my husband and 12 year old son. The apartment was exactly as pictured. My son declared the sofa sleeper among the best ever! We particularly enjoyed the nieghborhood (very lively cafes just downstairs-could be considered noisy by some) with a wide range of choices of cafes and restaurants in easy walking distance. I found the location to be a perfect base for sightseeing (many sights in an easy walk or subway/taxi ride) but also a lovely, local, neighborhood to come back to. Cecile was extremely easy to work with and most responsive regarding any question we might have had. The booking process was as simple as it could be. I assume all of Cecile's apartments are as lovely as ours was and I would not hesitate to book any of them. Oh yes - the very best boulangerie/patisserie is just across the street and a lovely cheese shop down Rue St. Antoine just past the metro St. Paul stop was perfect! Also - don't miss the Thur/Sun Marche St. Bastille outdoor market - a feast for the eyes and stomach! Thank you Cecile for our wonderful stay in your apartment!

While I have had the opportunity to visit Paris numerous times over the years, I had always stayed before in a hotel, in some cases, among the best the city offers. Our experience with Cecile’s apartment has changed me, at least on this count, forever. The Marais Village 1 apartment was a joy. The apartment itself is fairly represented in its listing and in the warm reviews of Cecile’s clients. Complete and comfortable. The location was easily accessible and lively. And, Cecile is a responsive, attentive person. You cannot beat this.

Our stay at Marais Village apartment topped off the most memorable holiday. We stayed a week. Not long enough I'm afraid. Great apartment to explore Paris from. Among the many positives are: 1-Information booklet that explains heating, washer/dryer operation, phone number for taxi,local shops, etc. 2-two floors to spread out in. 3- Quiet and pretty street. 4- close to Metro.5-initial supply of detergents, etc.6- Location, location, location!!!

Great location, Great and responsive owner, Perfectly clean, Perfect for a couple. This wonderful apartment is on the 3rd floor and is an easy walk up 3 very short floors. The stairs are very narrow and a little steep when with luggage. Everything worked and the location can't be beat. I will be back, it was just great.

December 11-19,2009: What a wonderful stay in Cecile's apartment at 10 Rue du Bourg Tibourg. Cecile is a lovely, thoughtful, and professional woman. This is certainly reflected in her apartment, which is furnished and decorated warmly and beautifully. It is incredibly inviting and appealing the moment you walk in the door. Imagine the joys of a spacious apartment with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, and a "full-size writing desk." We have visited Paris many times, the last five of which we rented apartments. None of those even closely compare to Cecile's. The Marais is our favorite area, so the location is perfect. We hope on future visits we'll have the pleasure of enjoying Paris in the hands of Cecile. My wife and daughter and I stayed in the Marais Village Apartment in December, 2009. The apartment surpasses the photographs we had seen online. It is in a wonderful neighborhood with a great bakery, a grocery up the street, cafes on the corners, and a street market across the square on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It is very well equipped for its size and was very comfortable. Only caution is that the narrow stairs up to the apartment are tough with large, heavy suitcases, which we had. But the Marais Village Apartment is in a very pleasant, relatively quiet location within the Marais and is close to Metro, shopping, and tourist sites if that is what you are looking for. Cecile was professional and very good to rent from. We would definitely consider renting an apartment from her on a future visit.

This is the second time I have rented an apartment from Cecile and it was great! The apartment was spacious and is very nicely decorated and comfortable with all the amenities one needs while on vacation. The apartment was perfectly located with a grocery store, bakery and wine shop just a few steps away. This area of the Marais is filled with great restaurants and very nice shops. I would highly recommend any of Cecile's apartments. Cecile is also very nice to deal with and takes good care of her clients!

We arrived in Paris for the first time and from the moment our driver that Cecile arranged for us everything went to plan. The apartment was perfect, and romantic. It was beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, very well equiped and the booklet you provided explained everything in easy to understand terms. Being very frequent visitors to Paris we found the location of the apartment to be our favorite. It was right in the heart of everything we wanted to do and everyplace we wanted to go. What a wonderful apartment, clean and comfortable and very chic and modern. Trendy boho area of Paris make it ideally suited for those that like to stroll.Only downside is the climb up a narrow stairwell 3 flights but the exercise is good for you.

AWESOME LOCATION, surrounded by HIP SHOPS & RESTAURANTS-you couldn't ask for a much better flat!!! The apartment loaded with amenities is perfect for 2-4 people. With its diverse shops, nightlife and culinary destinations-the Marais is so full of life day or night (even in August)! Did I mention the yummy boulangerie on the corner that my daughter was addicted to? We highly recommend this place and will definitely come back!!!

Cecile - The Marais Village 2 apartment was a dream come true. From the moment my husband and I arrived, we felt just like locals and started living like locals. With the supermarket down the street, the wine store and bakery at the corner, the location was perfect. The metro was also just a block or two away and made getting around the city a pleasure. Walking distance to the Seine and Notre Dame, the location could not be more perfect. We also enjoyed the square located just at the corner - lively cafes and great pizza! The apartment itself was ideal for two. Everything was as represented on the website, if not nicer. It was very clean and very well appointed. I really liked the fact that the living/dining/kitchen was on one floor, and the bedroom upstairs. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in in Europe - a true King size. We could not have asked for a more wonderful visit and plan to book this apartment again when we return to Paris - hopefully, that will be very soon! Thanks again... Mary Jane

The Marais Village apartment lived up to its description; the photos on vrbo represented it well. We loved staying at this apartment during our visit to Paris. The apartment and location were perfect, we enjoyed ourselves so much. The decor and furnishings were elegant and comfortable, and we loved the large upstairs bedroom with extremely comfortable king-sized bed. The information booklet left for us was really helpful. We had a wonderful stay in your beautifully appointed and decorated apartment in march this year as part of my 50th birthday trip. To be in the heart of the marais, with the fabulous old streets and buildings was truly amazing ( for the second time ) It was great to be out and about, and yet close enough to go back to our lovely home base whenever we needed at that time of year. Hi Cecile, I think Susan and I enjoyed this year's four week stay in your lovely apartment more than our two weeks there last year. It's beginning to feel like a second home to us. And, as you know, my brother is planning to stay there for two weeks this fall. It is such an easy place to live. The apartment is very comfortable and quiet. It's funny that we could be in such a lively neighborhood and sleep nine or ten hours each night. With the bakery, the wine store, the open-air market, and the FranPrix grocery only a few steps away, we surprised ourselves by eating out only six times. As we experienced last year, the booking, check-in, and check-out were simple and low-key. We didn't have a single problem during our stay but we were comforted by your offer to have either you or Pauline available to help if needed. I won't hesitate to recommend "Marais Village" to anyone that asks.

Our most sincere thanks to you, Cecile, for the crowning jewel of our trip to Paris was staying in your apartment. Everything about the apartment was first rate. Clean, spacious, with a warm contemporary décor, the apartment was especially inviting. One of the best characteristics of the apartment is that it made us feel right at home, like it was our place, not a place we were just visiting. The next best feature of the apartment was its location. In the heart of the Marais, we were in easy walking distance of so much of what Paris is famous for. The bakery on the corner was a perfect way to start the day. In the evening, the variety of restaurants on our street alone gave us choices to suit everything from down home eating to elegant dining. Yet we were not on a busy street, so there was little traffic noise, just a lot of charm.The well written little reference book answered any questions we had. Cecile, you set up the apartment so we immediately felt like we lived there in Paris, not like we were tourists and that is what made our trip to Paris so special. We recommend this particularly wonderful apartment without any hesitation and hope to return to it again.

Not just was the apartment exactly as luxurious as described but the location and surroundings made it superb (location, location, location).We really felt at home and being part of the neighbourhood at once also thanks to the useful booklet of instructions and information found in the apartment.Getting to the apartment from CDG - and vice versa - was very easy too. Excellent location! Center of Paris! Easy Metro access. Near Seine & Islands & museums. Very nice decor, very clean, well equipped. Fairly priced compared to other rentals considering quality and location. Convenient to everything. Problem-free vacation rental. Well managed & well equipped apartment. I also recommend airport pickup by your driver. We had a very fine vacation. No assistance required during our stay, but the owner called anyway to make sure all was OK. Dear Cecile, All too often when booking an apartment on the internet one is disappointed with what one finds on arrival. We would like you to know that your apartment at No 10 Rue du Bourg Tibourg actually exceeded our expectations and we were very pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was almost new, had two large windows on both levels and was fully and tastefully furnished including new washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and ceramic cook top. Its location in the middle of the exciting Marais precinct, yet easily walkable to the main city venues is excellent. The boulangerie across the street could not be more convenient. Even during our short stay of only a week, the apartment felt like our little home. We have already recommended it to several of our friends and will continue to do so. My husband and I were travelling to Paris for three nights with our 4 month old baby. We were originally going to stay in a hotel, but were so glad that we made the choice to book this apartment. The apartment was beautiful and in the best location. We loved being able to walk everywhere and also loved that our apartment was above a chocolate shop across the road from a fabulous bakery and around the corner from the most amazing ice cream we have ever tasted. Dear Cecile, I have stayed in Paris many times. I have rented one apartment a few times over again. This one will be my new choice. The apartment was extremely comfortable and spotless. It was nice to come home to after a long day out and about. We especially loved the king size bed, it was so comfortable. A restful night sleep is so important before a day of being out and about in Paris, with so much to do! The location couldn't be better. We chose to take the train from the airport, my first time and it was so easy with the metro being in such a close location. But Thanks for calling the Taxi for our early morning ride back!! We really appreciated it! We found the afternoon market so much fun, and to be able to grab wonderful foods from the Market and just run upstairs to heat it up for lunch was perfect. In warmer weather, it would be perfect, after a morning in Marais to take a picnic from the Market to one of the many Paris parks. We had a great three weeks. The apartment was terrific. All the arrival and departure arrangements worked perfectly. Entry codes, keys, instructions, local instructions, handy hints, everything. The apartment was as we expected, contemporary, well appointed, clean, in excellent condition and all the equipment, tv, stereo, internet, telephone (with free long distance calls!), all the items which we take for granted in a hotel, plus the kitchen equipment, worked perfectly and resulted in a totally "hassle-free" holiday. And then of course the location could not have been better. We lost count of the number of restaurants, cafes, boulangeries, brasseries within a couple of blocks; French, Italian, Japanese, American, all price ranges, something for every meal and everyone. The little supermarket just down Bourg-Tibourg was ideal for in-house eating requirements and the BHV Department Store in the next block came in handy on occasions. We loved being able to walk to many of the major galleries and attractions especially Notre Dame, Place de Vosges etc etc and that the Metro was just 5 minutes walk. All in all, we had a great holiday and would unhesitatingly recommend Cecile's lovely apartment and the A La Carte Paris Apartments organization to anyone.

My wife and I stayed here about 4 years ago. I just came upon the link again and thought I should write a review. This apartment is very cozy, comfort, and quiet for it's busy location. Nice linens. Very clean. Never noticed a single neighbor. Super spot in the Marais and well situated for exploring on both banks. It was a real value for the price. We'd stay hear again. Great for 2 people.

Recommended for:Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
