Look no further if you love the feeling of solitude on a great river, yet close to everything. Our week was filled with fishing (both fly and spin reel), fire-pit-s'more making, horse-shoe throwing, game-board playing, Serenity In The Mountains Spa treatments, and Blue Ridge window shopping. In short, stay here!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Another wonderful review. Thanks to our gracious guests for their inciteful remarks. Really, our cabin does have just about everything one could hope for and we continually try to improve. We expect to have a good garden this year with blueberries, blackberries, squash, okra, tomatoes and more. We just hope mother nature cooperates. Looking forward to having you folks back for a two week stay in late July. Jerry and Charlotte, owners

We just returned from a great week in your river side cabin. The location was private and peaceful and the kids had a great time. They won't stop talking about our planned return this summer. We caught enough fish for dinner one night, the kids played on the tire swing and roasted marshmellows in the fire pit, and the adults browsed the shops of Blue Ridge and McCayesville Ga. We had a fantastic week and look forward to returning in July. (We are actually going to get in that water.)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are very pleased that you had a wonderful visit and expect you will enjoy it even more in the summer. Thank you for your comments and come back safely. Jerry and Charlotte

We had a wonderful time at Fisherman's Retreat. We were greeted warmly by our host, and settled in quickly to the cozy and inviting cabin. It was clean and comfortable, and the perfect size for us. This cabin has the feel of seclusion without being remote. The end of the road privacy and large flat yard are great, but it's also close enough to Blue Ridge to be convenient. Of course, Mercier's Apple House is a must for breakfast!. We really enjoyed being able to fish right from the back yard. The cabin offers good access for fishing from the bank or the dock, and some of the best trout water we could ask for. The early March snow we enjoyed was a real treat too (thanks for "ordering it up" for us Jerry). Can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We were very pleased to have you folks and will certainly give you the same cordial reception on your return. Like most of our guests you scored with some nice trout and found how tasty they are. The snow was an unexpected treat but March is a month where the snows happen most often. I am only glad it was a small snowfall and not like our March blizzard on 1993 when the snowfall in a 24 hour period exceeded three feet and temps dropped to the single digit for three days. Thanks again for coming. Jerry and Charlotte

Went with a group of 10 and saw that right off that there was plenty of room for more. However, with our numbers, it made it all that more comfortable. It was on the cooool side, but we still managed to enjoy sitting by the water, as well as relaxing in the hot tub. This would be a fantastic place to come back to during the warmer climate.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are very pleased that you loved our cabin. It seems that most folks do. As you remarked there is enough room for up to 10 guests in the main cabin. But when you come back with more than 10 guests we will provide the detached unit at no extra cost (less than 10 there is a $28 added cost for cleaning). For a full week rental we currently only charge for 6 nights, but if less than 6 nights we will give you a 10% discount for your repeat stay. Thanks again and remember to check our calendar on our website for available dates. Best regards, Jerry and Charlotte Taylor

Jerry, Thank you for allowing us to come visit your cabin from 10/10/12 - 10/14/12. You were so nice and helpful. We could not have asked for more. We have been going to the North G/eorgia Mountains during the month of October over the past five or six years. This trip was one of the best. The house/cabin is absolutely gorgeous and so nice and roomy. There were three couples of us and we had plenty of room/privacy. The house was located right on the Toccoa River with a deck right at the water. We cooked fish and ate on the deck by the water and then built a fire in the fire ring afterwards. The screened in back porch was comfortable and spacious and there were plenty of chairs for everyone both inside and outside in the yard. The guys really enjoyed fishing and were able to catch fish. The owner was very nice and helpful. I would defintely recommend this cabin to anyone and would love to go back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your remarks. It is always a delight to hear from a satisfied guest. As you know we do our best to make your stay a wonderful memory. Hurry back to see us and receive your 10% discount as a returning guest.

Owner response: Thank you very much for you rental and for your remarks, and we hope you will be back to visit soon. Rental groups after you continue to catch trout. So the fishing is still good. Remember when you return that you will receive a 10% returning guest discount.

Dear Jerry and Charlotte, We have spent the last week wondering how we could possibly expand any further on all the great reviews that precede ours and have come to conclusion that we simply can't. One has only to come and experience the ambiance and spirit of your Fisherman's Retreat to see what I mean. Each family has their own unique experiences while here and leave with memories that simply abound. We grandparent had two of our adult offsping's and their families with us and we will tell anyone that when three little grandson's (ages 5,6,7) come up to you and say "lets talk about our time in Georgia" you know you have found a bit of heaven on earth. We took 300 photos showing their absolute delight at experiencing what your cabin, the grounds, and of course the river had to offer our little "city boys". And we adults could not have been happier ourselves actually having time and space to relax. Learning to bait a hook with grandpa is now a reality. You and your family are to commended for all the spirit, hard work, and considerations you have put into making Fisherman's Retreat such a wonderful experience for all who come. We pray to have the opportunity to stay again in the future as our time there was truly a gift. And, meeting and chatting with you both was very much a part of that gift.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Your wonderful remarks were very touching and brightened our day. We feel blessed to have such appreciative comments from our guests because we do put a lot of effort into our rental program. Children do love our place....I recall one repeat guest who told us that her 4 year old grandson ran up and hugged the tree (one of the two for the tire swing) because he was so happy to be back. We love stories like that! Hurry back to see us.

It's difficult to describe "Fishermans Retreat." To use the word fantastic or spectacular seems to lack the true dimension of this cabin and its location. I have been fishing the Toccoa river for too many years to count. North of the dam south...of the dam... the entire river. I know this river and it's potential as good as any guide that works it. The real fact is the fishing isn't just good. It's unbelievable! Regardless of the type fishing you employ be it fly or ultra light gear this location is the location. I had reservations about writing this comment. I have been sworn to secrecy to it's majestic qualities. Location...location...location! How many times have you heard that phrase? I have fished Alaska on multiple occasions. It's beautiful there and the fish are phenomenal. So is the cost to fish Alaska. If you want "bang for the buck" this is it. If you want to catch big fish...this is the place. Now that I have divulged this well known secret I am obligated to ask that you too must try to keep it a secret. My son and I fished for three days. We limited out in a very short period of time. We released four fish that were all over four pounds. How do I know? I weighed each one on my digital scale. We both lost fish that were in the five to six pound range. How do I know without weighing them? Forty years of fishing for them...that's how. We caught thirty-two fish in total. Not one was under fourteen inches! So what else can you do besides fish? Nothing. Yes, nothing but simply relax! You have plenty of space including enough room to play a football, baseball or soccer game. Don't want to play ball? How about the horse shoe pit? Or the fire pit? You say you have a dozen people? That's okay too because there's enough room for everybody! And the hosts? Well, you couldn't possibly find two more caring human beings on the planet! Jerry and Charlotte Taylor exemplify the meaning of friendly. They have always been there if and when we needed them. They are genuine. So, we will continue to stay at their cabin and enjoy their warm friendship. If you find a better cabin to fish from you'll more than likely be in Alaska.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Your review for our beautiful Fisherman's Retreat cabin was outstanding and we greatly appreciate it. No matter how much we try to explain the benefits of Fisherman's Retreat to prospective guests they seem to think that our cabin is "run of the mill" and too pricey. Too often they will look for a lower cost rental without realizing that our cabin is worth the extra cost. We provide so much more than other rentals............the truth is that no other rentals can provide what we do. It is a shame that folks will sacrifice the true enjoyment of the "right place" in order to save a few bucks. We tell prospective guests that we are the most conveniently located cabin on the Toccoa, closest to grocery supplies, gated entry with end of the road privacy, easy access into the river, best fishing, free wood for the firepit, a garden for the guests and many other extras. Unfortunately, inquiring guests apparently often dismiss our statements as untrue hype which so many unscrupulous rental managers use. Our truth is substantiated by the number of repeat guests that we have. That is, when they see how great our place is they have no hesitancy in returning, and they always remark that our cabin far exceeds their expectations. We have only had one negative review from an ungrateful guest that was resentful because they had to pay an additional $25 cleaning fee due to unauthorized use of the detached unit sleeping quarters (plenty of beds in the cabin for their family but their boys could not resist finding the privacy of their own place). We could go on and on about our remarkable cabin and location but we could never match your glowing comments. The fact that you have stayed in our cabin several times substantiates your satisfaction with what we provide for the price paid. We sincerely hope that prospective guests will accept the honesty of your comments and our response and look no further than Fisherman's Retreat for their most unforgettable North Georgia Mountain experience. Again, thank you very much for your comments. Jerry and Charlotte Taylor, owners

We had our daughter and son in laws wedding at the Fisherman's Retreat. What a beautiful spot! The yard is large, flat, and private. It was a perfect setting for the wedding, and the river provided a perfect background for pictures! If you love to fish, or have a family gathering, or wedding like we did, this is the place. Owners Jerry and Charlotte were so nice, generous and helpful! They really worked hard to make sure everything went perfectly, and it did! It was everything we all hoped it would turn out to be and more!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had my son's and fiance's wedding at the cabin on the river this weekend. It was gorgeous and so unique. There was nothing that we needed that the owners did not try to provide. They were just as interested as we were in making this the perfect wedding/reception. This is a wedding that no one will soon forget and the owners' graciousness will always be remembered. Thank you so much. The bride is already planning to come back for the anniversary. ( PS The fishing was great the groom literally did not let the "big one" get away).Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind remarks. We do make every effort to assure that our guests have a pleasant and memorable experience at Fisherman's Retreat. We look forward to your return and some future weddings from your friends. Jerry and Charlotte

This place was amazing. It would have been perfect except the owner (who is very nice) came to the cabin waaayyy too much! We had nothing to hide, but didn't feel like we could relax. Felt like we were in a fish bowl. We decided as a family that as much as we LOVED the cabin and location - we couldn't go back there :( Just be aware of this if you stay there! 9am visits from the owner and multiple visits throughout the stay... Again, the place was amazing and the owner was very nice - we just didn't feel like we could relax!Owner response: The guest appears to have the wrong impression of my visits to the cabin in response to problems that were corrected during their visit. Perhaps she should recall that I came not to visit or check on them, but in response to a correction of problems they encountered. They ran out of propane that we provide (free of charge) for the propane grill. I provided a partial tank from my personal home, then had theirs refilled and returned the full tank to them. Because it turned cool I had to light the gas fireplace pilot for them. In no case did I come down correct problems before 10 AM. I am very disappointed in the scathing comments and certainly feel they are not justified. I never visit just to check the guests. I only attempt to give our guests the very best in service and accommodations. I am certain that the guest is venting because I charged an additional cleaning fee of $25 for the detached unit. Their children used the unit without authorization, which is required before use.

We have held mini family reunions in this area for 5 years and this yard is tops! The house is beautiful and well maintained but probably best for parties of 8 or less in my opinion, due to having two bathrooms. That being said, we only went inside when we had to because the property is AMAZING! We played frisbee and baseball; we pushed the kids in the tire swing; and every once in a while froze ourselves in the river. The kids ate blueberries off the huge bushes! The owner lives nearby and was so gracious, showing us where to put the raft in for a ride (too cold for tubing!) The property was easy to access, too, with a nice grocery store nearby. The outdoor shower was also a fun feature. I would definitely stay at Fishermans Retreat again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your kind remarks. As you mentioned there is a wonderful outside shower with hot/cold water, so two bathrooms becomes less limiting. We also encourage guests to consider the use of the detached unit (at small added cost) when more space and beds are needed. We are always trying to improve our already wonderful vacation site.

Charlotte and Jerry, Thank you for providing a river paradise for us for two weeks. Fisherman's Retreat is such a picturesque property and we enjoyed being just steps from the Toccoa River. We loved getting up in the morning and enjoying our coffee on your dock and then moving our chairs along the river as the sun spread across the lawn. It was a delight to easily wade into the river to fly fish (and we are anxious to return in order to catch the "big one" that eluded us!). Your home was very clean and neat, and the kitchen was fully stocked with every gadget for a vacationing chef! We think your location is ideal for exploring Blue Ridge, McCaysville, and other surrounding areas in the N. Georgia mountains. An added bonus was your lush summer garden filled to overflowing with peppers, tomatoes, blueberries, summer squash and zucchini. Thank you for the special touches you provided and for being such wonderful hosts. We will see you again, hopefully very soon. And, we have already recommended your home to our friends. Michele and Mike (Longwood, Florida)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your glowing review. We very much enjoy hearing the positive remarks of a satisfied guest. Your rental of two weeks gave you a real opportunity to fully appreciate our delightful property and your review shows it. We look forward to hearing from your friends and referrals who can be assured that we will make every effort to also provide a memorable vacation for them. Would you believe we still have an abundance of blueberries on our bushes?

We absolutely LOVED this beautiful cabin on the river! If you are considering staying at this house, you won't be disappointed. They have everything you could possibly want PLUS the most amazing yard that people dream about!! The house is so charming and spacious. It's very private and peaceful here. My new husband and I got married on May 28th and had the reception here at this house. WOW! We had such a memorable time and the setting was absolutely perfect. Everyone that came to the wedding reception was asking for the house information, so they can stay here sometime soon. It was a dream come true kind of day, and I am so happy that we will always have "Fisherman's Retreat" as a place to come back to and remember our wonderful wedding weekend! I am in love with this place!!!! I recently booked this location for an intimate wedding and it was the perfect spot. We were married under the trellis next to the river, and there is a walkway from the cabin to the trellis that makes a natural aisle. The yard/lawn is flat so conducive for many guests. Also, the master suite is upstairs, so there is plenty of room for the bride to get ready upstairs while the rest of the guests and groom can be downstairs. The owners could not have been any nicer and I really appreciated all of their kindness and hospitality. The cabin is quite comfortable and really has anything you might need. The property is clean, well maintained, and accurately described. I would recommend eating at "Harvest on Main" in Blue Ridge (the trout was terrific) as well as visiting Mercier Orchards.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind review. We try to make everyone special and were very pleased to have you get married at our wonderful cabin. We hope you and your friends will remember us in your future vacation plans. There is another wedding scheduled in May and we hope that your wedding is the first of many. You and your spouse are so smart to save all the big bucks for your future needs. My wife and I did so over 50 years ago by eloping and saving the money (which we really did not have). It worked well for us and I hope it will for you folks also.

First of all, there were ten of us at the cabin for four days. The cabin is furnished beautifully,is very clean and well maintained. We all had an excellent time fishing, visiting, and watching the Grand -Childern playing. Of course, they put us through the ringer trying to keep up with them. I can remember when it wasn't such a task to keep up, but now it's a different story:):) We cooked trout from the Toccoa river for lunch. Nothing like fresh trout for lunch. We spent time telling stories around the fire pit, roasting marshmellows for the kids and sausage for the men:):) The cabin had everything and then some. All you need to bring is salt, pepper, lemon and butter to grill the trout for lunch !! The women went antiquing while we men fished with the grand-children. This was a family reunion that will bring back memories for a long time. The last words from my wife when we pulled out of the drive and headed home were "I didn't want to leave !" For a woman who hails from Brooklyn, NY to have said this means a lot. NUF Said:):):) Many thanks to our hosts for the wonderful zucchini bread. We all enjoyed it ! Sinply a wonderful vacation spot for young and old(er) alike. We plan to return as often as possible. Many thanks to Jerry and Charlotte for providing this wonderful "retreat."Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: The fishing is usually quite good, but it seems that you folks had exceptionally good luck. We will be sure to pass on your fishing tips for catching the big ones like the 6-1/2 pound brown that you caught. Thanks so much for your rental and we look forward to your return. The Fisherman's Retreat was even better than we hoped. It is very comfortable and everything you could need for a great trip is provided. We loved the screen porch, the hot tub & most of all the beautiful scenery. It is situated so that you do not see your neighbors and feels so secluded & private. We have a 22 year old, an 18 year old and a 16 year old. Typical children addicted to technology. We made this trip computer and cell phone free. We locked up cell phones for the entire week. I thought the kids and myself would have serious withdrawals. Not here. There is so much to do or not do at Fisherman's retreat. It is so serene and relaxing. It is is truly an escape from this fast paced non stop world. Our 16 year old fished whenever he wanted and caught the largest most beautiful rainbow trout any of us have ever seen. (You may see a picture of it when you stay there.) We grilled steaks by the river with smores for dessert by the fire pit, we tubed down the river, we played horseshoes, we read books, went whitewater rafting, enjoyed the hot tub, slept late, picked tomatoes and blueberries, mom even enjoyed doing laundry in the state of the art washer and dryer. Mr and Mrs. Taylor treated us as if we were close relatives. Very attentive to our needs. So kind and warm, great true southern hospitality. They have thought of everything at this retreat. I've stayed in many homes on VRBO and here they have covered every detail for guests, great appliances, Flat screen TV's, kitchen is loaded- even a great waffle maker. You can't go wrong here. We can't wait to go back!! thank youRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you Jerry for sharing your beautiful home! We were constantly surprised at how well equipted and maintained this cabin was. The beds were super comfortable and there was something there for everyone in our family. We never wanted to leave th house! Everything we needed was at our fingertips. Thanks for the fishing tips - my 15 year old son caught his first rainbow trout off of corn! Rafting the Ocoee was pretty awesome too! It was nice to be only minutes away from McCaysville. WOW....what a wonderful stay we had at the Fisherman's Retreat! Our family just returned back to "reality" from our stay at the cabin. Our son(9) luved fishing right in the back yard on the river...even caught a good size trout which made it even better. Our daughter(7) and son(2) luved the hot tub! The tire swing & open yard was a big hit too! My husband & I enjoyed living life at a slower pace with NO time schedule. We live life too fast & this is a great place to enjoy ALL of life's blessings! Very relaxing & quiet! Super clean & nice cabin with lots & lots of extras to make you feel at home. Hats off to the Taylor's for being such wonderful hosts! Can't wait to plan our next trip:) The Layton's (Brantley, Al)Owner response: Hurry back folks. Loved having you.

My friends and I (10 of us total) were looking for a fun spot to celebrate a birthday! Fisherman's Retreat was the PERFECT place. The lodge is spacious, clean and has all the amenities one could need. The fire pit and spa were an extra treat! We definitely will be recommending this hidden treasure to our friends!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family and I were looking for a winter getaway and found the perfect place at Fisherman's Retreat. Even though the weather was at it's worst (rain and snow) my two small kids were at their best at this spacious, comfortable cabin. The location was perfect...down a quiet dirt road, but just a short drive to DT Blue Ridge. And despite the chilling temperatures and bad weather, we got a brief opportunity to go outdoors where my kids threw sticks in to the river, ran around the large yard, and played on the tire swing until their fingers nearly froze. The owners could not have been more hospitable and kind (brought home made cookies by). We look forward to staying here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

On our first trip to Blue Ridge, my husband, Buddy and I were married. We showed up, dressed in our finest, on the steps of the County court house and asked if someone could perform a marriage ceremony. Most of the friendly employees attended our wedding, none of whom we knew, and treated us with kindness while sharing in our joy. Variouse members of our "Wedding party", took pictures of us during the ceremony and outside as well. As we were leaving one of the employees told us that we were the first couple to ever just walk in and ask to be married! We have pictures of those generous strangers in our wedding album and cherish the memory of that day. We stayed in an A-Frame cabin on the river and returned home, much too soon. Thirty one years later we are here at Fisherman's paradise! We have found the people of Blue Ridge, especially Jerry and his wife to be just as friendly and welcoming as that first visit so many years ago. The seclusion and beauty of the cabin is far greater than we had imagined, bringing back many wonderful memories. Thank you for such wonderful attention to detail. We ate every meal on the back porch listening to the soothing sounds of the beautiful rushing water, with our "four legged" boys, Lance and Chase at our feet. Sincerely, Judy and Buddy Degler (and Lance and Chase) Port Orange,FLDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I visited first in July, 2009 with college friends and brought my husband, Mother, and Aunt in Sept, 2009. It is a wonderful place to relax. Sleeping with the windows open and hearing the river was wonderful. The house and grounds are great. We hope to return in the future. Thanks Mr. Taylor.Did you find this review helpful? We have stayed multiple times at the Fisherman's Retreat due to the beautiful property and lodging. My family has rented cabins all over the Southeast and this has consistently been our favorite and the one most visited. We appreciate the Taylor's warmth, hospitality, and family friendly environment which is unmatched by any property management agency or owner. We look forward to our next visit.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Jerry, We have stayed several times at Fisherman's Retreat - just the two of us and with the entire family. Each time has been wonderful. You and Charlotte are most gracious hosts and your cabin and grounds make for a great stay - fishing, tubing, canoeing, horseshoes campfires and more.Did you find this review helpful? Seven old college buddies -- from early 1970s spent a weekend here. We expected a "Big Chill" sort of weekend. Now we laugh and say it was more like "The Waltons" -- especially since four of the women spread out in the upstairs area, just like the Walton females. The married couple got the BR on main floor and the lone male the little BR off the porch. He made a perfect John-Boy. The swing, the firepit, the rushing river gave us a sense of tranquility and conversation never lagged. An unexpected cool spell in July added to the pleasantness. We didn't get in our cars all weekend and the TV was turned on once briefly to get a little news. Being able to pick squash and beans and blueberries added to our enjoyment (and the Waltons feel). Yes, all of us intend to come back --together and with our families. The Taylors were great hosts. I highly recommend this get away.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have stayed in :Fisherman Retreat" numerous times and have always found it to bo one of our most pleasurable vacations each visit. Mt. Taylor has created a home away from home and he is always a pleasure to rent from. We will definitely return to these serene surroundings when we need a break from the hectic, daily lives we live!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Because we had such a terrific stay at your cabin before, we chose to return for our 31st wedding anniversary. Needless to say, we were not disappointed! You can't help but relax when you're here and the sound of the river just carries any stress away with it! Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable and we look forward to our next visit!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a wonderful time, it is a shame that we could not stay longer, caught plenty of fish and caught plenty of good family time. Thank you again for sharing this wonderful place to those of us who don't get enough down time in this hectic world we live in. jd.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a wonderful time. It was cold but the best weekend we have had in a long time. Caught fish, stayed warm by the fire, the house is wonderful and the location is great. Well worth the drive we made. We will be back. Thanks so much to the Taylors for the hospitality!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I have stayed in many cabins in NC and GA over the years but this is by far the greatest find we have made. It is well worth the drive we made. My husband can't wait to go back for a week! The location is great, quiet, plenty of space, beautiful river and yard and outstanding house. The internet doesn't do this place justice. The Taylors left nothing out when preparing the house for guests. You walk in to a wonderful home with all the essentials and more. Our stay was too short, even in the freezing weather we caught our first trout! We will definitely return to this gem time and again. What a great place to regroup and refocus on the important things in life!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your wonderful remarks. Now, if only the prospective new guests will believe your impressions. Jerry, owner

Thank you for a wonderful weekend getaway. Fisherman's Retreat offers a perfect romantic getaway or in our case a family outing. Our 7 year old caught a 2 lb trout right off the bank! In addition to fishing we enjoyed canoeing, riding bikes and playing baseball and we didn't even have to leave the house to do these things!!!! I would recommend Fisherman's Retreat to anyone. Thank you again for a wonderful weekend. We are already planning our next trip.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your comment. We look forward to your return visit. Jerry

Although the website provided excellent details and information about the cabin, it still did not prepare the guests for the wonderful setting and atmosphere we experienced. Everything was available for everyone of all ages to make their stay so enjoyable. Thank you for a truly memorable visit. Our family looks forward to coming again. My wife and I enjoyed our visit very much. I fly fished the shoal while my wife lounged in the swing and read a good novel. The rainbow and brown trout were eager and plentiful. My largest was a 5 lb. Brown. The cabin was beautiful and comfortable, the river easy to wade, and mr. Taylor was very pleasant and attentive to our every need. We look forward to another visit.
