When you rent in El Parque, you rent a lifestyle, not just a home. El Parque #64 is ideally located in a beautiful development of 114 homes about 1 mile from Ajijic with an East facing screened patio overlooking the grassy pool area. This is outdoor living at its best. There is an active social committee which arranges good movies, water volleyball, potlucks and dances. There are walking groups, with friendly participants and a community center you will definitely enjoy. There is an equipped gym with classes.
This home is an expanded Clavel model, the largest single level, with two tiled covered pergolas on the mirador. The washer/dryer, a (Maytag Neptune - very quiet) is out of sight with an enclosed expanded pantry. The pool and jacuzzi are in front of the house, with a large community center for parties. The front porch is screened. Shops and restaurants are close, and there is a nice walking area around the complex with a more advanced walking trails nearby. Wal-Mart is very close as is a new shopping mall just behind the development. El Parque is about 1 1/2 miles from the center of Ajijic. Close enough to access it easily, far enough to have privacy. This is the ideal location for snowbirds or sunbirds.
Our home has many wonderful upgrades and a large, open feeling. You may come for a vacation and stay for a lifetime! This area truly is a paradise. A car is really not necessary. A bus stop is close and quite inexpensive. El Parque is close to everything. Stores are available just across the street from the entry. We have a water purification system; instant hot water in the master shower; glazed, beveled glass for privacy; a large assortment of books and maps; star choice t.v.; wi-fi; a fully equipped kitchen and a large mirador with two pergolas and a great view of the lake. Just bring your laptop and come enjoy!
The Lakeside Little Theater is close (1/4 mile). The weather here is wonderful, with an average of about 75 degrees, and the Lake Chapala Society or Charter Club Tours has many activities and trips available. There is a gardener included. Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
We are a retired couple from Reno, Nevada, USA. My name is Christy and my husband's
name is "Beau" Building this home was a special project of mine as it is something
I always wanted to do. I've added all sorts of extras in this home. I really think
this is a slice of Paradise because the weather is just about perfect here; people
are friendly and my husband's good health seems to have returned in the stress free environment.
Why the Owner Chose San Antonio
We came here just for a vacation and thought that would be it, but found friendships, so much to
do, wonderful weather year 'round, a great (and lower) cost of living, and my husband found some other musicians and really got into the music scene. (The band he is in, The Lucky Dogs, has been written up as the best band in the region) I became involved in quilting, so with musical instruments and quilting, we needed a little bigger house and decided to use this first dream retirement home as a rental.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our rental home is in a gated, guarded community, walking distance to the Little Theater, Ajijic,
good restaurants and shops and with so much to do within the community. Most people in the know, or tipped off by friends living here, are looking for rentals in El Parque. There are only a few
heated pools in the area and that is a real draw, along with all the activities within the community and the proximity to everything else. Beat the humidity in states like Arizona, Texas and Florida and come to
Lakeside with special summer rates!

Very nice place to stay in Mexico

This house has been my vacation spot for several summers. (In the summer rainy season it does generally rain mostly at night with bright sunny days..) It is as described, a nice house in a small quiet well maintained gated community with a mixture of Canadians and Americans (mostly retired) and some Mexican families. About two miles from Ajijic's center, easily walkable for me and close to several good restaurants and several grocery stores plus a new Wal*mart, movie theater and casino. The owner has always been a pleasure to deal with. A nice place to spend some time in the mountains of Mexico.
