To anyone considering staying at Les Chaudieres: I want to let you know what an amazing time we all had (group of 6). Les Chaudieres is an amazingly beautiful paradise, and allowed me to fully relax and let go of the monotonous stress from regular life. I was truly in awe of the beauty, peacefulness and delicious food. During our first of Christy's dinners I said, "I wonder if our plane crashed and this is Heaven." The staff took great care of us, especially Christy and Martina. We were spoiled by their care and amazing food!! The villa pets, Coco and Spot, have a special place in my heart also, as I love animals and missed my kitty while I was there. I'm currently trying to figure out how we can add an outdoor shower to our house, since we all loved the one at the villa! My husband and I lucked out and got to stay the master bedroom. It didn't feel like a rental villa; I was living in the owners' family tropical home for a week. I felt like I was getting to know a bit about the family, reading the framed documents on the wall about Ophthamology training and a bronze star award. The artwork, books, guitar and personal touches around the villa were so wonderful for a detail person like myself. The stairs to the beach were steep, and there were a lot of them, but I made it! The villa's staff, Christy, Martina, Paul and Bertillia, are the best! They will take care of any requests you have, and convince you that you'll never have food quite as delicious once you leave LC. I'm grateful to the owners for sharing their piece of paradise with us. We could have spent the same money somewhere else and not had such a fantastic experience. I will happily recommend as many people as I can to come to Les Chaudieres and hope it's rented all 52 weeks of the year. Since our return home (we stayed 11/5 - 11/12, 2011), a few of us in our group have made Martina's key lime pie and Christy's chicken curry (recipes on villa website), and for a few moments we were transported back to our little paradise in St. Lucia. I do HIGHLY recommend bringing the best bug spray you know of. The bugs liked me the most out of everyone in our group, (I forgot bug spray!) but my vacation was not spoiled in the least. I also recommend, if you can, to totally disconnect from the outside world. Leave your laptop at home and reconnect with being RELAXED. It's worth it, I promise. Sorry for the long review, but I couldn't say enough great things about Les Chaudieres. :)

Me and mine friends couldn't of had more fun at Les Chaudieres. All of Chirsty's meals are amazing and Paul is the ultimate tour guide for the island. The house is unbelievable and the views are even better. It was the most relaxing vacation I've ever taken. Thanks Jeff, Dee, and the entire staff at Les Chaudieres. I can't imagine how the week could have been any better! Ray T.

I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful relaxing, beautiful, comfortable location to visit on this amazing island. Upon arrival we met the most wonderful staff, Christy, Paul, Martina, Bertina and Elizabeth were gracious and welcoming and they made us feel like family from day one - taking great care of us and providing for our every need. We wanted to experience the culture of St. Lucia and the amazing food prepared for us every day as well as our adventures around the island with Paul enabled us to meet many wonderful people and were unforgettable!! Thank you for helping create some amazing memories and a refreshing week in St. Lucia!

The Les Chaudieres Villa is far better than advertised. The owner patiently answered our many pre-trip questions, and was spot on with all responses and advice. Our family of 5 stayed a week and loved every minute. From the moment you drive up, hear the welcome bark from Coco the dog, meet the smiling staff ready to welcome you, and see the villa, you know you've found a piece of paradise. The villa sits on a private ridge jutting out into the Caribbean. It fits the land so perfectly it looks like it grew there rather than being built. As you walk out to the point, there is a post card view in every direction. At the pool, you think you've stepped onto the set of the movie "South Pacific" and Emile DeBeck's ocean view terrace. Not sure words can really describe how beautiful it is. You just have to be there to see it - and "feel" it - to understand. A Caribbean breeze at all times, flowers and birds everywhere (the St. Lucia Oriole is beautiful)...just so much to take in. The staff, led by Christie, is outstanding and exceeded all of our needs, made us feel very comfortable, and what great cooks!! A touch of Caribbean in every meal. Wow! It was interesting to learn of their culture and they were eager to share it with us. Trips to the market with them were real "events". The villa bedrooms are huge, well appointed, and very comfortable. The nights are cool and pleasant, perfect for sound sleeping. The outdoor shower is soothing, private, and what a view. In fact, we never used the indoor ones. The dining/lounging area was our preferred site for chilling and great backgammon games when not out and about, or by the pool or the grounds. So comfortable and relaxing. Even more so with the cats Spot and Stride looking for a warm body to sleep against. The private beach below the villa is a great snorkeling site full of fish and sea life. Evening sunset at the villa is the highlight of the day. Relax with a local Piton beer and take it all in, and watch for the green flash! We also enjoyed some short trips to include an evening watching the sunset between the Piton peaks, scuba, snorkeling, whale watching (successful), deep sea fishing, hiking, shelling, and exploring the markets. Les Chaudieres will take you places you've only dreamed about before. Just sit out on the point, watch the ocean, the boats, the clouds, the birds, feel the breeze, and hear the waves. Let your thoughts drift. We must return to this tropical paradise

The Les Chaudieres Villa greatly exceeded our expectations. We stayed a week and loved every minute of it. You just have to be there to see it - and "feel" it - to understand. Such an incredible location for the villa on a private ridge jutting out into the Caribbean. A post card view in every direction, a Caribbean breeze at all times, flowers and birds everywhere...just so much to take in. The villa itself is exquisite, very private, and fits the land perfectly. You think you've stepped onto the set of Emile DeBeck's home in the movie "South Pacific" when you see the grounds around the pool. We would have been content to sit there all week, watching the boats, hearing the birds and waves, enjoying the sunsets, etc. But there was so much else to do, to include scuba, snorkeling, shelling, deep sea fishing, hiking and exploring the market, among many other things. The staff, led by Christie, is excellent and a real collection of "characters". They all made us feel very comfortable, and what great cooks and guides!!! It was interesting to learn of their culture, and they were eager to share with us. The bedrooms are huge and very comfortable. The nights are cool and pleasant, fine for sleeping. The outdoor shower is soothing, private and what a view! In fact, no one ever used the indoor ones. The dining/lounging area, was our preferred site for chilling and great backgammon games when not out and about, or by the pool. So comfortable and relaxing. The 265 steps down to the private beach are steep but fine. We snorkeled there and saw lots of beautiful fish and sea life. Should have done more. Evening sunset time is the highlight of the day, relax with a local Piton beer and take it all in. We didn't seen the "green flash" at sunset, though Christie did her best to convince us there was a small "tint" one time. Nice try, Christie! Les Chaudieres will take you places you've only dreamed about. Just sit out on the point, watch the ocean, the boats, the birds, feel the breeze, hear the waves, and let your thoughts drift. We must return to this tropical paradise.

We recently visited St. Lucia and had no idea of what to expect upon arrival of this home. Of course the photos were breath taking and the other reviews made the property sound fantastic. Realistically though without the actual experience you are taking a huge leap of faith. So as 9 of us drove up to this mysterious property we had high hopes of a dream vacation. This dream vacation would quickly become reality. Day after day we were indulged in this gorgeous setting. The quality of service from the staff at the Villa matched the impressive setting. Look at the pictures again, for a staff to impress you as much as the view, that is really saying something. We went on this trip with three adventurous young males, 3 slightly less adventurous young females ( me being one, a little more relaxation appreciation on our end), 2 parents and a grandmother as well. The staff had something for everyone and felt like part of the family, as we experienced our own individual pleasures and joined for memorable group moments. This vacation was truly one of a lifetime. If you are wavering back and forth about taking the leap, stop right now, book the trip and make this dream a reality. We did and will always remember it.

...except that we've already decided to budget a return. St. Lucia is a stunning gem in the Caribbean. Likewise much the same can be said for Les Chaudieres. The views from the house are breathtaking (mountains to the left and behind, Anse la Rey to the right, Caribbean and private beach in front and below). My wife and our three young children recently enjoyed the trip of a lifetime at Les Chaudieres with mornings spent swimming off Martina's French Toast and bacon and afternoons spent lounging or making quick trips to Rodney Bay or Marigot Bay. We enjoyed the hospitality of the staff, the character of the Durham's home, the views (again), the food, the sunsets (every night a keeper), the moon and the stars, and the ever-present breeze making its way through the bedrooms and the open-air living room. Experience quiet without solitude (Anse la Rey is walking distance from Les Chaudieres - though we wouldn't recommend it because of the blind curves and switchbacks), and decompress with a book and a glass of St. Lucia's finest rum. Stream mp3s to the stereo by the pool or in the "Big Room" over a game of backgammon. Hike down the 230 stone steps to the VERY private beach. Les Chaudieres is a unique and memorable experience that we highly recommend: an architectural gem (with outstanding hospitality) as exceptional and memorable as is St. Lucia.

This property is as advertised. It is absolutely beautiful. We took many pictures at the property that looked like they should be on postcards! We spent most of our time in the pool (it gets very deep)! The staff are wonderful and are willing to share their knowledge of the island. The food, oh my gosh! We were absolutely in love. We were so sad to leave this beautiful place and beautiful island. We felt like kings and queens! It was wonderful to spend a week with my family and to really feel like we were a part of the island (food and culture). We cannot THANK YOU enough. Wow!
