What a lovely location to rent. The views were exceptional. The house was wonderful. We did not get the opportunity to meet Arlene, but did meet Josh and Adam. Although my husband has walking disabilities, he was still able to manage the stairs. The dogs are very well behaved and to our knowledge never barked while we were there. We just can't say enough about how great this rental was.

We generally try to give our guests as much privacy as possible, at the same time we try to make ourselves available should you need anything. Wow, what a wonderful home! We have rented 6 houses in the Kailua area ( within my family ) and all thru VRBO. This house was by far the cleanest and most accommodating for children. Aside from the 100% accurate description on VRBO I can tell you this; the owners are lovely people to deal with, the dogs are silent and lovable, the pool and hot tub are wonderful, the kitchen is very well equipped, there are tons of towels, beach toys, etc...and the BBQ (grill to you Americans) and all appliances are terrific. The house was the cleanest we've had yet! We are mom, dad, and 2 little girls ages 3 and 6. The location is great (feels like you're in a treehouse), the stairs were only an issue when we were hauling the suitcases in on arrival. Otherwise, not an issue. Great neighborhood, nice neighbors, and a veery sunny yard by the pool! (a bonus as no pools are heated in Hawaii (that we've found) so you need the sun. The house pool was warmer than any Waikiki hotel pool hands down! We honestly can't say anything bad about hale ona honu! Great hous, great price, well equipped, I also found a high chair, stroller, exersaucer, baby bath and baby toys in the house. I would recommend this house to anyone! Couples, families, everyone! Mahalo for a wonderful stay! We hope to see you again!

House was exactly as stated. Beds were extremely comfortable, plenty of towels, kitchen supplies well stocked. Neighborhood was quiet, property grounds were clean. Swimming in the pool was a great way to end the day. Dogs friendly, and quiet. We loved our stay there and wished we could have spent more time. If picking between the two local beaches, Kailua or Lanikai, go with Lanikai it was much less crowded and perfect for young children. Thank you Arlene and Josh, we plan to come back again!

Off to University of Hawaii

My husband, older daughter and I just returned from Oahu a week ago today minus our younger daughter that we were moving to University of Hawaii Manoa. Kailua was a great option to combine her relocation along with a vacation. Sooooooo much better than staying in Waikiki. It was also our first experience staying in a regular neighborhood. Very convenient to grocery stores. Even picked up a dorm TV at a garage sale around the corner. Very safe feeling area. Good for walks. Dogs are friendly and well behaved.

We had the best time on Oahu. This place was perfect for us. We enjoyed the pool (and the doggies). And found the cottage to be clean and have anything we could possibly need. Much better than any hotel or resort we ever have stayed at. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for comfortable, clean, quiet, convenient place to stay.

Skip the fancy over-priced hotels! - this place has it all

when travelling with kids, hotels some times make it tough, but this vacation rental made our stay so easy and relaxed. Clean and modern inside and out, and oh that King sized bed was so comfortable! - nice quite street and a great view! - The 2 dogs were great and our kids loved them!- the Jacuzzi was nice after a long day. the Welcome Book that they put tohgether has everything to help in your stay! Dont stay in over-crowded Honolulu - Kailua is a great "local" town with a lot of Aloha to go around, the atmosphere was very relaxing. One thing to note woudl be that there are some stairs to walk up to the cottage. If you stay here make sure to go to Teddy's Bigger burgers and Frimaggios wine bar - godo local places to hang out.

Kailua Heaven

We just spent almost a week at Hale O Na Honu - It was just perfect for us. The neighborhood is very quiet and the house was just what we needed. A perfect retreat for a family. We had everything we needed including a copy of Oahu Revealed (best guide book ever and we, of course, left ours at home!) and a child-size life vest that fit our 3-year-old perfectly. She also very much appreciated the sand toys on our frequent trips to the beach. Thank-you for everything! I hope someday to be lucky enough to return to Kailua; we have many wonderful memories of our 'turtle house.' Thank-you!

We are back in Toronto but wishing we can spend more time at your beautiful home. You have such a gorgeous place for a vacation, the view, the place, the area, etc..... and more for everyone who would want to have the best vacation to be.
