I live on Maui and I think West Maui is the best of Maui. Lahaina is close to Kapalua and Ka'anapali for golfers and there are many activity desks for convenient scheduling of ALL the fun on Maui. Yet, Lahaina still has the small town feel.
My condo is unique at Aina Nalu. It is located in a building that is separate from the rest of the resort. It is near the back of the property, away from most foot traffic, but close to the main pool.
The photographs do not fully illustrate the quality of furnishings and interior design at Aina Nalu. You will love it!

We stayed with another family in the condo and had a wonderful time. We were very impressed with the updates and modern decor in the condo, including the walk-in modern showers! The location of the condo is great, just steps to the pool and hot tub or a short walk to all of the Lahaina shops! Overall we couldn't have been happier. We were so appreciative to have the laundry soap and other kitchen items included as many other timeshare units we have stayed in before never included these items. Overall, a great value for what you get, great management and great location!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Out stay in John's fantastic condo this year started March 29 for 4 weeks! We had stayed on the Outrigger Aina Nalu property the prior two years via a package from Westjet Vacations and the units were good, however, we scoped out John's larger unit and were excited to find it on VRBO and at a fantastic rate! John's level of care for his guests is outstanding along with the ammenities within and the unit itself! The huge walk-in showers remind us of home and was so great being able to travel light and use the washer/dryer. The condo couldn't be more perfect for us and we were debating writing a review beacuse we selfishly didn't want to tell the world about this hidden gem--but seriously folks it should be booked everyday of the year just on John's guest care alone which is so rare these days!!! If you want to stay in a great condo, experience excellent customer service, and not break the bank to visit Maui...you need to book! My brother-in-law stayed in Wailea for one week of our trip and it cost the same as staying in John's condo for a month! There are two great pools on the property and so many amazing beaches minutes from Lahaina (North Ka'anapali beach is our favorite). We also love having the option to walk two minutes into town and experince the great night life, Aloha spirit, Ono Gelato, buy grocceries, and the atmosphere overall! PS...You must try the Pad Thai Restaurant in Lahaina. My husband has a severe case of Celiac Disease which keeps us having all meals at home, however, he was able to eat the curry dishes (which were spectaclar) without incident. I had the Shrimp Salad rolls each time and they were to die for--best peanut sauce in the world! Service is always interesting so just be patient as the food is worth waiting for!!!!!!! Can't wait to visit again next year! Thank You John!!!!!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is our fourth year at Aina Nalu and once again we had a wonderful time!! The condo location was perfect--next to the salt water pool and pavillion, not to mention walking distance to Front Street!! John's condo is also well stocked with anything you might need...your home away from home! This is the first time we were supplied with laundry detergent, beach towels and snorkel gear, pool toys, cooler and beach chair--such a nice touch:) The condo is very clean and well maintained, we plan to be back:) The only thing we would recommend is more bath towels.....thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Mahalo! Once again it was a lovely stay, while I haven't stayed anywhere else on Maui, I can't imagine why anyone would choose another town. Aina Nalu is so central to anything in Lahaina it really adds to the vacation. I love being able to walk to restaurants, shops and activities. The last time we visited was 4 years ago and I was pleasantly surprised to find the property well maintained. The condo we stayed at was looking a little tired, and maybe ready for new carpeting and possibly some new furniture/bed spreads, however everything was comfortable, and clean. The iron was broken and the frypan has seen better days, but the condo had very decent snorket equipment, lawn chair, beach rolls and sand toys, which were very generous to have available. Unfortunately the condo smelled of "bug spray" and a notice was left on the counter to advise us of the recent procedure. An unfortunate necessary,Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Aloha Kathryn, I'm happy to hear your enjoyed your stay in our home. I really appreciate your comments. I will purchase a new frying pan and iron today. However, I'm a bit confused about the bedspreads, furnture, and carpet. The bedspreads and sofabed were replaced three months ago, so are virtually new. The carpet is in perfect condition and is shampooed on a regular basis. I will personally inspect the condo today and tend to any necessary changes. Mahalo for your comments, John

The condo was nicely appointed, new kitchen and baths, comfortable beds and washer and drier. It was right near the pool and hot tub and not far from the grills. The downtown lahina strip (front street) was only a few blocks away so we always walked to dinner. The owner accommodated my late checkout request when I became stranded due to the blizzard of 2012 (I live in Boston). Overall a really enjoyable stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family just returned from a wonderful 3 week stay at John's fabulous 2 bedroom condo at Aina Nalu. The condo is quiet yet located close to the larger pool and BBQ's. We loved that we could walk to all the shops and restaurants in Lahaina! The kitchen was well equipped, there were lots of books to read and there were TV's in each room! The grounds are beautifully landscaped and we love the Hawaiian decor in the condo. One of the air conditioners broke down and John had it replaced the next day! We would highly recommend John's condo to anyone looking for a beautiful vacation in Maui paradise!Recommended for: People with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My boyfriend, myself, and my mom recently stayed at John's condo for 6 days of pure bliss. The condo was everything we could want, and then some. It is in the perfect location, and has wonderful access to the pool and cabana. It has the most amazing view of the West Maui mountains that you could ask for. I plan to be back in Maui in 2013, and my hope is I can stay at John's condo once again. I highly recommend this should you need a 2 BR / 2 BA condo. You'll be glad you did! :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I just returned home from a three week stay at John's condo and the condo exceeded my expectations. My advice to you is to stop looking at condo's, e-mail John and just book it! You will not be disappointed! The pictures do not do this unit justice! The condo itself was extremely clean, very modern & up to date, spacious, great layout, and has the most perfect location both within the complex and proximity to Front Street. You are just steps away from the salt water pool complex yet when you are in the condo you never hear the pool noise. Same goes for Front Street. You are just steps away from all the shopping, bars and restaurants yet you retreat to the calm of the condo. It was great to walk around on Front Street at night, have a few drinks, and then just walk home. The condo has everything you will need. The kitchen is well stocked with higher end appliances. The beds are very comfortable, bedding & linens high quality, great pillows, and TV's in every room with a great range of channels/networks to choose from. The showers in both bathrooms are to die for with great water pressure and an amazing shower head. I couldn't wait to jump into the shower every day! I also really appreciated the high speed in condo secured wifi. The living room has a comfortable couch to chill out on. There was both laundry detergent and fabric softener sheets provided for the washer and dryer. John did not cheap out on furnishing his condo in any way. John was also amazing at answering all my questions and very easy to reach and communicate with both before my arrival and while i was there. I plan to return to Maui next year and won't even be looking at any other accommodations because i know where i am going to stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

John, your unit was impeccable and the location is most convenient for the pool and BBQ area. We appreciated that beach chairs, an umbrella, extra towels, dishwasher, and laundry detergent are all provided! Those are nice extras which we don't find with all rentals. One tiny suggestion we had was tools for the BBQ. The spatulas and tongs were plastic, and we didn't want to melt your tools! Thanks again, hope to return next year.Owner response: Aloha Alyson, Thanks for your nice review. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your time in my home. We will add sturdy BBQ tongs guaranteed not to melt. :)) John

Wow, this condo had EVERYTHING we could need and want. We stayed as a family of 6 and we were very comfortable the whole time! This condo is located walking distance to Lahaina town, the Pier, Banyan Tree, 505 Front Street, and a Catholic church (which was very important to my parents!). The pool and lounge area were amazing as well - great, cool, breezy, shaded area to hang out with friends and family. The owner is also very responsive and we appreciate his upkeeping of the rooms. When we come back to Maui, we will definitely look to stay here again! Highly recommended if you want a comfortable stay! Warning... you may not want to leave :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
