This perfect Lake Charlevoix Rental Cottage is located on the beautiful South Arm and will comfortably accomodate 6-8 people. It is direct waterfront with a sandy beach and dock with boat lift. It rents weekly in the summer. This property has a 3 night minimum in the off season. New carpeting for 2012!
This cottage is conveniently located just 10 minutes south of Charlevoix, Michigan on the west shore of the South Arm of the Lake. This extremely private getaway is nestled on three wooded acres. It is a direct waterfront property, and has a beautiful view of the lake. This property is yours alone to use and does not share the beach or the waterfront with other homes in the neighborhood.
Upon arrival, you will drive down a wooded lane taking you through the property to the cottage. Everything you and your family will need for a memorable vacation has been taken care of. The three bedroom cottage is completely stocked with sheets, blankets, bath and beach towels, and all kitchen supplies and utensils. We also have a stacked washer & dryer for your convenience. NEW CARPETING, and new kitchen and bath flooring installed in September, 2011.
The cottage has a huge Family Room. There is a woodburning fireplace and satellite TV with premium channels, and WiFi high speed internet service. There are three bedrooms and one bath. The sleeping configuration consists of one queen bed, one double bed, and two twins that are bunked in the third bedroom. There is also a queen sleeper sofa in the family room. The bathroom has one sink and a bathtub with a shower. Our deck is off of the family room and faces the lake. You can sit on the deck and enjoy a peaceful, private view of the lake.
At the lakefront you will find 180 feet of private waterfront with a beach area and grassy area for throwing a baseball, frisbee, etc. At the waterfront there are beach chairs, a second picnic table, a large firepit for campfires, an aluminum fishing boat with oars, and a swimming raft out in the lake. The water is shallow for quite a way out, which is good for small children. We also have a nice supply of sand toys for the kids.
One of the nicest features of our Lake Charlevoix Rental Cottage is the ability to dock your boat of up to 24' during your stay. The heavy duty shore station is yours to use and will hold your boat of up to 24' and keep it safe. The public launch in Ironton is just up the street. Our guests have appreciated all of the boating convenience that our cottage offers.
This is the place on Lake Charlevoix to be for all boating related water sports. This is also the place to be if you like to fish. The local bait shop in East Jordan usually recommends our spot on the lake. You can also fish off of our dock or use the aluminum boat.
At the waterfront, there is plenty of shade or sun, whatever your preference. The lake is shallow here and your children can wade into the water without you having to worry about a steep drop off, which is common in many areas on the lake. We have a sandy waterfront, combined with some wetlands on either side of the sand. This gives us so much privacy with our neighbors on either side, and an opportunity to enjoy nature and the beautiful water lily blooms on either side of the swimming area.
We have a swimming raft that you can place where you want it. Usually it is located in about 6' deep water. The kids (and adults) like to swim out to it and play king of the raft.
Don't forget about all of the fabulous GOLF COURSES in the area!! They are too numerous to mention, but if you are into GOLF and a golfer, you know how close they are. This would be a great rental cottage for a GOLF Getaway in May or September too.
For rainy days, we have tons of games and puzzles and a ping pong table in the garage. There is also a guest information book with directions to the many attractions in the area.

Good Morning Diane,
We had a great time at the cottage. Our son loved the sand and the sand toys were an added bonus. We brought some of our own, but he loved the ones you guys had there. As of right now we are thinking we will come back next year around the same time of year since it was so nice. This is the perfect vacation to get away with a toddler. Next year he will be 4 and will probably be more interested in the water too.
We will pass onto others the information about your place as well. I think alot of people would be interested in a vacation like this. So much nicer than a small hotel room.

We're back home, and we had a wonderful time in Charlevoix, what a great town! I see what you mean about Venetian Week now, downtown was all a-buzz! And what a gorgeous lake, we went to Swan Marina and rented a pontoon for the day, and were amazed by the beautiful homes! We enjoyed all the great restaurants! Also took road trips to Petoskey and Traverse Bay area. And were were quite amused by the Ironton pulley
ferry!
Your cottage was great - and very clean when we arrived I might add. I trust you'll find we left it in good shape for you, we tried to treat it as our own place.

Why the Owner Chose Charlevoix
We really enjoy the calm waters of the South Arm for waterskiing and wakeboarding. The west side of the South Arm enjoys a very calm shoreline since most of the wind comes from the west. This part of the lake is great for fishing too. We also really like the quick 10 minute trip into Charlevoix.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
We really enjoy the privacy that we have here. We have a huge waterfront area to ourselves. It is so relaxing and peaceful. The campfires are great here and so is the stargazing. This is the best place to unwind from the stress of downstate! Fishing is awesome too!
If you are into adventure boating, you can get anywhere from here. One of our favorites is to cruise north through the South Arm. Pass the historic Ironton Ferry and head northwest through the lake and into Charlevoix's Round Lake Harbor. From there, take the Pine River channel into Lake Michigan. Head north to explore Little Traverse Bay and the towns of Bay Harbor, Petoskey and Harbor Springs.

This cottage is halfway up the South Arm on the west side of the lake. The picture is of our son in the cove just off of our dock. Wakeboarding, waterskiing, tubing, jetskiing, and fishing is what he enjoys. This is the perfect location on the South Arm!

Great spot on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix - nice sandy beach, shallow water and good dock. Photos are a good representation of property. My husband and I went with our dog and he loved being able to run down to the water every morning. Nearby great towns like Charlevoix, Boyne City and Petoskey - day trip to Harbor Springs also great! Everything was clean when we arrived and renters are easy to work with. Thank you!

My family had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The south arm of Lake Charlevoix is quiet- perfect for taking our teenage children wake boarding! The cottage is private with a beautiful view from the deck and beach! We really enjoyed having bonfires on the beach in the evening- a great way to relax!! An added bonus was being able to bring our dogs along - they had a great time too!!
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, pet owners, sightseeing.

We stayed at this cottage the 2nd week of June and could not be more pleased. The location is excellent as it is only a 10 minute drive into Charlevoix for fabulous sunsets and some great shopping. This time of year seems to still be a little slow so the town was not crowded at all. The close proximity to East Jordan proved helpful as we visited the grocery almost every day and it was a 5-7 minute drive. We also visited Boyne City, Petoskey and Fisherman Island State park. Can recommend a visit to all of them, especially the state park. The cottage itself was perfect for us as we have a small child who loves the beach and playing in the sand (sand toys provided by the owner were a big hit!). The inside was very clean and the open floor plan made it seem more spacious, especially the high vaulted ceilings. The DISH network and WiFi are great. The bed was comfortable and all kitchen supplies are provided. Starter paper products and cleaning supplies are there as well, even though I brought all of my own, we did use some of the cleaning supplies they had. It was very nice to have the laundry since our little one gets very dirty. Contact with the owner is easy and they are very accomodating. The best thing about this cottage is the fact that this location is private. You really feel like you have "escaped" the city life for a week. All in all a great place to get away and relax by the water. Will plan on visiting again!
