Perfect Lake Charlevoix Rental Cottage! Located on the beautiful South Arm of Lake Charlevoix, this place is ideal for a relaxing family vacation. It is conveniently located just 10 minutes south of the beautiful town of Charlevoix, Michigan. This extremely private getaway is nestled on three wooded acres and enjoys a beautiful lake view through the trees from the deck. This home is not in a shared access neighborhood, so the lakefront is yours alone to use.
Upon arrival, you will drive down a wooded lane taking you through the property to the cottage. This great Lake Charlevoix Rental Cottage has everything that you and your family will need for a memorable vacation. Inside, you will arrive to a perfectly cleaned interior. All beds are made for your arrival, and the kitchen will be spotless. It will be as you would expect in a hotel. We employ the finest staff of caretakers in Northern Michigan and nothing is left undone. The three bedroom cottage is completely stocked with sheets, blankets, bath and beach towels, and all kitchen supplies and utensils. 2010 renters will enjoy new carpeting in the entire cottage and a freshly painted interior.
Our Lake Charlevoix Rental Cottage has a huge Great Room for your family of up to 8 to gather. There is a woodburning fireplace and satellite TV with premium channels. There are three bedrooms that are off of the great room. The sleeping configurations consist of one queen bed, one double bed, and two twins that are bunked in the third bedroom. The additional sleeping space is found in the queen sleeper sofa in the great room. The bathroom has one sink and a bathtub with a shower head. Our deck is off of the great room and faces the lake. You can sit on the deck and enjoy a peaceful lake view through the trees while grilling and sipping your favorite beverage. The patio set seats 6-8 and there is a charcoal bbq grill.
From the cottage the property continues on a very gradual slope down to the lake. At the lakefront you will find 180 feet of private waterfront with a beach area and grassy area for throwing a baseball, frisbee, etc. At the waterfront there are also beach chairs, a second picnic table, a large firepit for campfires, and an aluminum fishing boat with oars. The water is shallow for small children too, and there is a swimming raft which you can place in the lake to your desired water depth. We keep it usually located in water of about 6 feet deep.
One of the nicest features of our Lake Charlevoix Rental Cottage is the ability to dock your ski or fishing boat of up to 24' during your stay. You can launch your boat up the street at the public launch in Ironton. We have a wooden dock and a steel boat lift that will keep your boat safe. Our guests have appreciated this convenience.
If you and your family are into waterskiing, this is the place on Lake Charlevoix to be. We have the calmest water on Lake Charlevoix, and during your stay you will see many almost "professional" skiiers that choose this part of the lake to own their vacation homes.
If you are into fishing, this is also the place to be. The local bait shop in East Jordan usually recommends our spot on the lake. You can also fish off of our dock or use the aluminum boat and oars to get out to a great fishing hole.
Choosing to do nothing is also a great thing to do here. Just sit in a beach chair. We have plenty of shade or sun, whatever your preference. The lake is shallow here and your children can wade into the water without you having to worry about anything.
We have a swimming raft that you can place where you want it. Usually it is located in about 6' deep water. The kids (and adults) like to swim out to it and play king of the raft.
Did I forget to mention all the fabulous GOLF COURSES in the area? They are too numerous to mention, but if you are into GOLF and a golfer, you already know about them! This would be a great rental cottage for a GOLF Getaway in May or September too.
For rainy days, we have tons of games and puzzles and a ping pong table in the garage. There is also a guest information book with directions to the many attractions in the area.

We are a PET FRIENDLY, Lake Charlevoix Rental Cottage. Our chocolate lab, Brody, highly recommends this location for his vacation, because he loves to swim and retrieve the ball. Please inquire regarding our pet policies. We are strict, but realize that Brody's friends like to go on vacation too.

Hi Diane,
We're back home, and we had a wonderful time in Charlevoix, what a great town! I see what you mean about Venetian Week now, downtown was all a-buzz! And what a gorgeous lake, we went to Swan Marina and rented a pontoon for the day, and were amazed by the beautiful homes! We enjoyed the restaurants and found another one in Boyne City we really liked called Rennie's Grill. Also took road trips to Petoskey and Traverse Bay area. And were were quite amused by the Ironton pulley ferry!
Your cottage was great - and very clean when we arrived I might add. I trust you'll find we left it in good shape for you, we tried to treat it as our own place.

Year Purchased: 1994
This is our 20 yr old son at Lake Charlevoix during summer 2009. He loves to wakeboard, fish, and go to the Mt. McSauba sand dunes in Charlevoix. He began coming to our Lake Charlevoix Cottage when he was 5, and back then enjoyed finding salamanders and frogs, tubing and jumping off of our swim raft, and hanging out at the Raven Hill Discovery Center. My how they grow up! He is currently playing NCAA D-1 CAA Football as a Tight End for a great University! We also have a 22 yr old daughter that recently graduated from college. We had to leave Michigan for work related reasons, so we began renting our Lake Charlevoix cottage to vacationers in the summer of 2006. Why the Owner Chose Charlevoix
Our family has a history on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix dating back to the 1940's. We purchased this property in the early 1990's across the lake from our family's original place as our family grew. We really enjoy the calm waters of this lake for waterskiing and wakeboarding. The west side of the South Arm enjoys a very calm shoreline since most of the wind comes from the west. This part of the lake is great for fishing too. We also really like the quick 10 minute trip into Charlevoix.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
We really enjoy the privacy that we have here. We have a huge waterfront area to ourselves. It is so relaxing and peaceful. The campfires are great here and so is the stargazing. This is the best place to unwind from the stress of downstate! Fishing is awesome too!
If you are into adventure boating, you can get anywhere from here. One of our favorites is to cruise north through the South Arm. Pass the historic Ironton Ferry and head northwest through the lake and into Charlevoix's Round Lake Harbor. From there, take the Pine River channel into Lake Michigan. Head north to explore Little Traverse Bay and the towns of Bay Harbor, Petoskey and Harbor Springs.
