Our beautiful, 3,000 square foot, vacation home is perfectly located near the fabulous Rio Grande Club golf course and only 17 miles from Wolf Creek Ski Resort. The house is located on 2+ acres of private land. The property backs up to the Rio Grande National Forest, which is easy access to every outdoor activity imaginable: hiking, ATV/4X4 riding, biking, wildlife viewing, cross country skiing and sledding. The house is within walking distance to the Rio Grande River & Alder's Creek (popular fishing rivers with plenty of fly fishing for trout), as well as canoeing and river rafting.
Our home is large and airy and is a perfect place for a family gathering or vacation with friends. It is a 2 story chalet floorplan with the master bedroom/bath and another bedroom and full bath on the main level. Upstairs are 2 additional bedrooms that share a full bathroom. There is also a sitting room upstairs with a television with couch and love seat. Adjoining balconies on the upstairs rooms and the extra large deck on two sides of the main level provide for perfect places to wind down, grill out or view neighboring mountain tops.
Make sure you throw in your swimsuit! The hot tub is located on the back deck and it is absolutely the place to be after a fun-filled day outdoors.
The house is equipped with all the conveniences you might want for cooking during your vacation. It also provides a laundry room and two car garage for your use.
We are a short drive from Wolf Creek Ski Resort, Alamosa (Great Sand Dunes), Pagosa Springs, the Historic Mining Town of Creede and the Headwaters of the Rio Grande River. South Fork and neighboring communities provide many activities and amenitites to make your stay fun and enjoyable.

This is the second time we have stayed in this home. Our family of all ages had a wonderful stay. After a long day of skiing, most of us jumped into the hot tub and relaxed as we talked about the day. Everything was just so cozy. One could tell that the new owners maintain the home very well and go out of their way to make one feel welcomed. Would love to come back in the summer!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We had a group of 10 adults and 2 children under the age of 2. This house was spacious with a wonderful floor plan. The hot tub was located on the back patio, close to the back door. It took about 25 minutes to get to Wolf creek ski resort. The road to the house was plowed each day. This house is well worth the money. The owners do a great job of making you feel at home. They provided a welcome gift basket, which included wine. There was not any wifi, but overall, not a problem.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My family, a friend and I were in South Fork over Memorial Day Weekend this year. We had an amazing time, the house is very comfortable to stay in and had more then enough room for all of us to get meals ready and lounge. It is close to many fun towns, and right across the street is a great the entrance to a great trail. I will be going back for sure!Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

The house was a great size and layout for 2 families with younger kids. Two bedrooms downstairs - each with a bathroom. The adults stayed there. Upstairs, 2 bedrooms and a loft was great for the kids. The house was nice. The only negative was the pull out sofa in the upstairs loft was in bad shape and not comfortable for even a young kid.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.
Owner response: We really appreciate the information provided by this review. We just bought the home in January, 2012 and have been making enhancements to it throughout the last several months. We have not yet had an opportunity to utilize the pull out sofa. We will be addressing the sofa in the near future and have some solutions that can be implemented at this time.

About the owner: We are a professional couple that live in Kansas. We both love the outdoors: ATV riding, hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing and golfing.
Why the Owner Chose South Fork:
We have spent many years travelling in Colorado and are looking forward to the day that we retire and can spend more time enjoying the activities we love. We chose this area due to its proximity to great fishing, hiking, and ATV riding. Our family will enjoy the skiing, and we look forward to many rounds of golf on the nearby course.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our home allows the luxury of getting away from the daily rat race. This is an area with beautiful mountain views and a comfortable home setting, yet with the benefit of paved roads and close proximity to South Fork. We are within minutes, or short drives, to areas that fit our active recreational life style.
