I found myself in Florida in 1971 after my father one day declared he couldn't stomach another Massachusetts winter. After many years I've come to appreciate the wisdom of my father!
Why the Owner Chose Englewood
In the late 1950's my parents often traveled from New England to West Palm Beach, occasionally veering across Alligator Alley and up the west coast. Enchanted by the sleepy fishing village of Englewood, they bought an acre on the east side of Lemon Bay and began the dream of a Florida retirement.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our porch overlooks Lemon Bay, an "aquatic preserve" - the views are beautiful, great sunsets, Manasota Key and the Gulf Beach just across the bay. We enjoy fishing, boating, just hanging out on the dock, playing golf, hitting one of several waterside bars and restaurants - from nautical dives to places that call for something nicer than shorts and flip-flops.
