Why the Owner Chose Bend

We adore living in Bend and love sharing our affection for the high desert with visitors. We chose a west side location because guests can walk everywhere, the Deschutes River is just a block away, and because of the wonderful charm of the neighborhood.

Cumberland House is across the street from a well-maintained home that has several, towering Ponderosa Pine trees. On the block is also a tiny, 300 square foot home, dating back to the old mill days, when the mill workers were allowed to take free lumber home on their lunch breaks. These homes were called "lunchbox specials."

The Westside Cafe is just a couple of blocks away for your morning pancakes and coffee - plus a life-sized Elvis statue and an electric train that runs around the room!

Easy and Awesome.

We loved Cumberland House. It was perfect for our family and made our trip so easy and fun. Between the book of recommendations, the dog toys, the games, and the comfortable & stylish house you really have a great package for guests. I was also pleased with how easy you made it to book the house: 1 call and a couple of e-mails and a fax is so simple, yet I felt like you would’ve gladly had me call and e-mail a bunch more if that’s what I needed – that’s great customer service.

Great rental, very kid friendly, clean has everything you need, and a great location too.

Owner response:We love hearing that parents (and children!) enjoyed their stay at Cumberland House. We like our littlest travelers to have lots of fun things to do... so you will find dress up clothes, books, movies, puzzles, dolls, trains, soft balls, etc... I am taking a new set of Crayons to the house later today! :-) Delia

Super location (must visit Nancy P's Baking Company by Newport Market) and very comfy. Great place for the dog, there are toys, dog beds, dishes, poop bags and a fenced backyard! We wanted to stay longer.

Excellent lodging in a prime Bend location. All the amenities are included. Our group of six and two dogs felt we had ample space the entire weekend. We've visited the house annually for two years and plan to keep the tradition alive. Thanks!

Owner response:Thank you so much Carrie! We welcome you back any time. Here's to vacations! :) Delia

One of the most relaxing and well appointed places I've stayed anywhere. The only things we needed to bring were food, drinks and a great attitude. I recommend Cumberland house to anyone wanting a delightful, comfortable, well maintained, and terrifically located place to stay. Close to downtown, the park, and only a short drive to Mt. Bachelor. Am looking forward to my next stay. Thanks Delia!
