Terrific House, Perfect Location

Guest: Tarheel1 (Atlanta, GA USA)
Date of Stay: 07/23/11 Review Submitted: 08/01/11

My 10-year old daughter and I have vacationed on Hilton Head the last three summers, and this is definitely our favorite house so far. It is spacious and well-stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, etc. My daughter loved the private pool, and I enjoyed watching the kayaks and canoes go by on the lagoon. The big screen TV was also a big hit with both me and my daughter. Beach access is very convenient - in fact just about everything is a short walk or bike ride away. Although we were near a fairly busy street, we were never bothered by traffic noise. We rode our bikes on the golf cart paths in the evening, which was very pleasant. All in all, this is a great house in a great location! The owners are easy to work with and very willing to answer questions. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to come back!

This was a very nice home with an excellent location and amenities. It is close to the beach (5 minute walk), has ample room and everything you would need for your vacation there. We particularly liked that fact that we did not have another home right behind (or to one side) of us. The lagoon is very nice and adds a nice buffer. We would stay here again.

Lovely Home in Great Location

Guest: Mary (Virginia)
Date of Stay: 07/02/11 Review Submitted: 07/13/11

We spent the 2011 4th of July week in this attractive, conveniently-located ,and well appointed home. As a tennis playing family, we enjoyed the closeness of the Palmetto Dunes courts along with the competitive programs offered there. The beautiful beach is within walking distance of the house. Having the opportunity to ride bikes on that beach was especially nice. After a long day on the courts, we were able to relax in the pool while barbecuing dinner. Some in our group went kayaking in the waterways behind the house. We found our time at this home in HH to be alot of fun and very comfortable.

Lagoon View, 5 minute walk to beach

Guest: Jack (Katonah, NY)

We've spent 9 winters in this house and will continue to do so. Lovely, clean, spacious, on the lagoon, modern ktichen, all the comforts. Convenient to the General Store, nearby excellent restaurant (5 minute walk, same as to the beach), and two hotels and their restaurants. Close to golf course and tennis courts, if that's what you like. Lots of decks, pool, outdoor grill. And a private dock. You won't want to leave.

Fantastic in HHI

We loved our week in this wonderful house. We have stayed in several places over the years in Hilton Head, and this just might be our favorite. The location is great, a very easy 3-4 minute walk to the beach, and extremely close to the general store, a restaurant, golf and tennis. We spent many happy hours each day in the pool, which although on the small side, fit our needs perfectly. We absolutely loved taking our morning coffee and afternoon wine down to the lagoon dock--that was something we had never experienced at any other rental, and the peaceful times we spent there added so much to our vacation. The kitchen was absolutely wonderful, and lacked for nothing. The bathrooms were great too, especially all the space as well as the big shower in the master. I actually didn't mind sharing that bath with my husband! The living spaces were very comforable, nothing fancy (except for the view from the living room, which was so wonderful) but clean and and easy to live in. The house just feels so spacious and light-filled, and the one-floor living was very convenient. The only issue we had was with the electronics. The big screen tv in the living room doesn't have that great of a picture, and there was no cable, just network stations. There was no cable in the master and one of the other bedrooms, and the tvs in the Florida room and in the other guest room didn't work at all. The cd player also didn't work. We emailed the owner, who was very responsive, and she said she was looking into the cable issue, but there was no change by the time we left. However, this was an extremely minor issue for most in my party (my husband missed his cable), as we spent our time at the beach, in the pool or on the dock by the lagoon. This house is a great find, and I highly recommend a stay here.

Relaxing Family Vacation Home...

Guest: Lisa H. (King, NC)
Date of Stay: 07/03/10 Review Submitted: 07/11/10

Just returned from spending 4th of July week. The owner was so kind and always willing to answer any questions we had. House was spacious - plenty of room for our family of 5, plus in-laws stopping by at the end of the week. Easy 2 min. walk to beach via the cut-through at the Disney Beach House (we pulled our toddler in her wagon), but in-laws thought the walk a bit much, especially in the heat of the day (they have slight mobility issues) - we compensated by driving them over in the car and letting them out in the Beach House parking lot. Biking to the beach was, of course, much quicker, and the teens biked alot over the course of the week. We thought the beach somewhat crowded, but it was the prime vacation week of the summer. Loved the large shower in the master bath, and the kitchen was well-equipped. We tried to get to the beach early most mornings, then head back home around lunchtime - the pool gets great mid-day/afternoon sun. In-laws had trouble getting in/out of the pool because of no handrails. Five televisions throughout the house - but the "cable TV" was actually only 15 channels - the basic networks and public TV (one or two channels even repeated) - disappointing for hubby who had wanted to watch the Tour de France and for our toddler, who enjoys various cartoons. I realize most people don't go to the beach to sit around and watch television, but the lack of at least basic cable channels was disappointing. Overall, a great vacation home in a good location and about as close to the beach as you can get on this part of the island, unless you're staying in an oceanfront condo. It appears the majority of the vacationers on the island bike everywhere anyway. Biking to the beach was a snap and even walking over was easy for us.

Owner response:Sorry about the lack of cartoon channels and for the repeat channels. We pay for cable tv every month and I will contact Time Warner to see what happened!

This was a delightful home for our family of 10 during our oldest daughter's wedding week June 20-26th... on the beach at The Marriott. The location was the best part. Walked to beach, tennis, golf, bars, restuarants and the general store. We hosted cook outs with plenty of room indoors and out, and the kids loved the pool. Location, location is the key!

We stayed in this great house June 13-20th and we loved it!! The location is perfect-right on the lagoon and minutes from the beach! We had four teenage girls and two teenage boys with us and we had plenty of room. They loved the house and the pool. We rented bikes and rode all around Palmetto Dunes. We would definitely stay here again and wouldn't change a thing about the house! Thanks for a great vacation! the shells, cuyahoga falls, ohio

My husband and I stayed at this house in August, 2008, and we couldn't have enjoyed our visit any more. We have an infant, and this was the perfect house for us. He loved to crawl on the carpet and to look out the windows. Also, the pool was perfect because we could sit outside with the monitor while he was taking his two naps a day. Additionally, the location is amazing. We walked to the beach with a baby and all of our gear, and it was no problem. We absolutely had the best time and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We booked this house at the last minute Labor Day, 2008, after our other rental property fell through. This was a great turn of events for us. This house was perfect for our group: spacious enough for a large group, but intimate enough to have a good time. The house is basically across the street to the beach, but also right no the Lagoon. This is great if you want to enjoy the water, but not be directly on the beach. Bring your fishing pool because you will be able to fish right off the dock. There is also a canoe if you like to row- bring your own paddles because they are not included. There are great bike trails around Palmetto dunes and a beautiful manicured golf course.. The owner was very easy to work with and accomodated our last minute booking.

We stayed the week of July 4th and had a blast. This was a wonderful place to stay and I can not say how easy it was to get to the beach and how relaxing the deck and fishing pier were. We had 6 adults and 3 children and the house gave use plenty of room. The children enjoyed fishing, swimming and biking. The dining area was great and we had room for all around the table for dinner. The children can't wait to go back they are already asking and we can't wait either!

We selected this house for our vacation because of the helpful and positive comments made by previous renters. And they were correct--it was a great house in a great location. My husband and I stayed with 2 other couples and the house offered each privacy and also spacious common areas for sharing. We had a great time.

What a GREAT location. Other than an ocean front hotel room we have never had a better location. With the waters of the lagoon visable right out the Den windows we even enjoyed the one rainy day. We hosted our other family group (they had rented a home in Sea Pines) two nights. We fed a total of 18 people and had plenty of plates, glasses, etc. for everyone. The gas grill is wonderful and HUGE. We had a fabulous cook out. We used the pool every day and enjoyed it enormously. We've had BAD hotel experiences where they pick up your towels if you leave your seat and go into the pool or walk out to the beach. So it was really great to have our own pool. My husband walked accross the street to the driving range and to take our sons and grandsons golfing. The free tennis was lots of fun. Our daily walks and bike rides on the beach were terrific. We even walked to dinner at Alexanders saturday evening. When we take a beach vacation we want the beach to be really accessable - and it was. The best ever. The house is so spacious. The vaulted ceilings in the great room made the room seem really HUGE. Of course when we weren't outside we enjoyed the big screen TV - just like home - much better than any hotel. The kitchen with its granite counters, stainless appliances and hardwood floors was a pleasure to work in. There are so many extras at this home I can't name them all. It was a wonderful week.

This was our first stay at Palmetto Dunes after many visits to Sea Pines. A key factor in choosing PD over SP was finding a 3 to 4 bedroom house with a pool AND walkable beach access. This house certainly exceeded expectations. We like PD's central location and St. George's central location within PD. The golf courses are 1 minute and 8 minute walks; the beach is about a 5 minute walk. The house is quite spacious with an excellent lay-out. There are two comfortable living areas, the bedrooms are not adjacent to one another, and the outdoor deck is sizeable. The kitchen is ample and modern. Finally the owners were extremely easy to deal with and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we were satisfied. The only negative about the house is it lacks a garage or covered parking.

We throughly enjoyed our vacation at your beautiful home the week of 7-22-06 thru 7-29-06. The location was perfect, a corner lot with the golf course across the street, within easy walking distance to the beach, bikerentals, tennis courts, and the General Store. The deck, grill, and pool were an added bonus. The pool with its view of the lagoon was a relaxing and quiet way to spend part of the day. The outside shower was used when returning from the beach. You have a very spacious home and there was plenty of room for ten of us. We prepared our meals everyday & found all the appliances and utensils we needed. The weather and water temperature at the beach were great. Bike rentals are a fun & safe way to see the scenic area. This is a Five Star home, we hope to return often.

We just returned from an absolutely wonderful week in Hilton Head. The house exceeded what we were expecting. There could not be a better location in Palmetto Dunes. It is directly across the street from the Fazio course clubhouse. Less than a minute to walk over to your tee time. Very convenient also to the Jones course as well. Tennis and rental outfitters are also right next door. You can be sitting at the beach in about 4 minutes. Access is very convenient. We had 4 teenagers with us who loved the closeness of the beach but I think they liked the pool at the house just as much. We are looking forward to staying here again!

Great house and the the very best location. Golf course is out the front of the house and the lagoon in the rear. The beach was as close as you can get, just cross the lagoon and the street. The BR's were good size and the den could double for a fourth BR. The owners were very convenient to deal with. They even provided great weather!

We had a wonderful time in this great house. My grandchildren had the best time in the pool and on the fishing dock, each time my 11yr. old granddaughter caught a fish the blue heron would come to eat it, my 4yr old granddaughter loved watching the blue heron which was almost always there. It is close to the beach and a great place to ride bikes. You will enjoy your stay here.
