This is a charming house, family owned for the last 150 years. Nestled in the hills along winding cliff roads that overlook the Mediterranean, it is the perfect retreat for an adventurous and relaxing holiday. It has all the comforts of home and more! There is easy access to fine restaurants, shopping and cultural experiences, by foot, scooter, car, bus or train.

The house is conveniently located with excellent public transportation service that can take you to Sorrento or Positano in just 15 minutes. From these towns you can take a ferry to many of the surrounding islands including Capri, Ischia and Elba.

A short train ride will take you to Pompeii where you can explore the famed ruins of Herculaneum and Vesuvius. Sorrento offers both breath taking views and a plethora of activities to make your trip memorable.

Or, just stay at home and experience some good old Italian country living. Come in the fall to gather grapes for wine making. In the spring you’ll find the flowers blooming - we make honey all year round. In the summer, the sunny beaches will take your breath away—go to a different one every day!   • We stayed for 4 nights in september and had a wonderful time (except for the rainstorms rumbling around the bay and making us feel even more at home!)The apartment was better than we ever imagined and so nestled into the community it really felt homely. Again, like some others, once we understood the bus system we were fine, but it did take a couple of days. We are definately thinking of returning and spending more time there, but with the added bonus of a car - it would allow so much more freedom. However, its hilltop location may be tricky to find, but is well worth it, away from the tourist droves of the local resorts which,lovely to visit, it was a joy to return to our more 'italian' location at the end of each day. All the locals seem to know the family and so are very welcoming when you explain where you are staying and are only to happy to help, despite the language barrier! A great afternoon was spent sailing and swimming around Capri having hired a small motor boat from 'capri boats'just next to where the Sorrento ferry drops you. No boat experience is neccessary to hire them and we anchored in bays and caves far away from the rest of the crowds - affordable luxury! All in all a great stay - thanks again for all the help from you and your family before, during and after our holiday.

  • We stayed at the house for 4 nights early September of 08 - it was a wonderful experience and felt like a home away from home. Only thing I wish that I spoke Italian so I can communicate with Michelle's in-laws - who seemed so so nice! This definately gives you an experience of Italian home life (+ a few very nice appliances that I dont think most Italian families have)! After we figured out the bus systems - we felt right at home! Also, had some of the best meals at the restaurants that we could walk to. I would definately recommend, please contact me for any additional info.   • We had a wonderful week on Via Pontecorvo. Michele was very helpful ahead of time, and Angela and Giuseppe could not have been more warm and welcoming. We especially loved their homemade red wine (and of course Angela's cooking). The house is perfect for a couple (adding a child or two would be possible, but a bit tight) who want to be away from the tourist bustle of the towns, in the countryside with real people, yet very convenient to Sorrento, Naples, and the Amalfi Coast. We found the driving to be easy and fun, though there were certainly plenty of options for travel by bus.

  • We had the pleasure of staying at Michele and Francesco's villetta from Dec. 29, 2007 to Jan. 9, 2008. The New Year's fireworks were spectacular, and we loved the sunny warm balcony with its view of the sea. We also loved the quiet of the neighborhood, and the proximity of good restaurants and small markets, some within easy walking distance. The well equiped kitchen made Italian cooking easy when we simply wanted to stay home for dinner. The rural surroundings were perfect for us, and the short drive to Sorrento was just right. The Amalfi Coast is literally at your doorstep from this location.

    Hi Michele We had a really good time and your family was very helpful. We found driving in Sorrento a bit more challenging than usual but on the whole we accomplished most of our aims – Pompeii, Capri, Ravello, Paestum … ! We found the villetta to be very well appointed, cosy and comfortable and we would certainly consider staying there again should we travel to the Sorrento peninsula in the future. Thanks again Graham

    We enjoyed the house very much, the location was great and the house was nice and comfortable. We missed the turn in Piano di Sorento the first time because the street name was obsecured by all the B&B direction signs. at first blush we thought it was a little remote, but by the second day we had our bearings and found the location great.

  • What a wonderful place to stay!!! We enjoyed every minute of our August 2007 stay at your house. Your family was welcoming and warm and gave us fresh tomatoes from the garden as well. Sorrento and Positano were lovely and Pompeii is breathtaking. I am already scheming to get back to Italy. The Harry Potter books were greatly appreciated by the girls. Having them at the apartment was the icing on the cake.

    Everything worked out perfectly. We got very comfortable with this bus system, and visited all of the towns along the coast. We even rented a scooter, which was quite an adventure! We especially enjoyed being able to come home from our day and have a couple drinks on the patio before we got ready for dinner. Our favorite restaurant was Zio Sam, just down the road. The food was delicious, and the views were beautiful. Our favorite town was Positano. We had a lot of fun on the beach and walking through the town and shops. I also enjoyed Ravello. I bought some really beautiful pottery to bring home, and it's on the counter in my kitchen. All in all, it was a wonderful stay. Once we figured out the public transportation system, we were comfortable traveling everywhere. Thank you very much! Elizabeth (and Anthony)

  • This is a lovely, comfortable house in a quiet area--a perfect spot for exploring the Amalfi Coast, Naples and Pompeii. We appreciated the roomy shower and well-equipped kitchen, and also the sunny deck for relaxing with a great view out over the mountains. We only wish we'd had more time to spend there.
