As an English yachty for the past 15 years I have come to know and love this part of the world quite well. I originally chose this new apartment three years ago for its central location and size.
A stone's throw from the Mediterranean, the marina and beaches, our apartment is also only a couple of blocks from the old town of Antibes. This fascinating and historic town offers the tourist a microcosm of French culture and life in a small area easily explored by foot while remaining less urbanised than other parts of the coast. The vieille ville, the ramparts, Fort Carré and the archeological sites remain as living witnesses to its rich past.

Should you wish to venture further afield, Paris is a twice-daily TGV trip away. Alternatively, the train ride along the coast through Nice, Eze-sur-Mer, Beaulieu, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Monaco and on to Ventimiglia in Italy is one of the most breathtaking and beautiful in the world; or you can just as easily head west to Cannes or Saint Tropez for the day. We are a four-minute walk from the train station.
One of our favourite trips is to the Monte Carlo tennis open in April. The train makes a special stop just beyond Monaco; the view from the platform overlooking a peaceful bay with the train line snaking its way towards Italy in the distance is unforgettable. The restaurant above the central court with views to the Mediterranean beyond must be unique for a sporting venue. Sit with a cassis and watch the tennis.
