Perfect

We just returned from St Thomas yesterday. We stayed at this particular property, and it exceeded our expectations. The condo, itself was fantastic. It was spacious and decorated very nicely. The beds were comfortable as well. The resort still has only 1 restaurant open, as the other is expected to open shortly. We rented a car (highly recommend) and ventured to Red Hook, where there are plenty of places to eat. Again, this was a perfect vacation. We would definitely return! Kudos to the owners!

Great vacation!

Guest: Virginia Family (Virginia Beach, VA)
Date of Stay: 10/21/11 Review Submitted: 11/07/11

We stayed at Rick and Susan's condo for 4 days in October and were very happy. They are great to deal with, easy to get in touch with, and quick to send the deposit money back to us. There was plenty of space for us and great views of Cowpet Bay, especially from the loft deck which is huge. The beach and pool were never crowded and it is a short walk to the Ritz where you can also enjoy their pools and beaches and dining. We rented a car, but didn't use it that much as we were on snorkeling/boating trips and just stayed close by. We mostly used it to go to the grocery store and to/from the airport. Driving isn't that bad, but at night can be a little tricky as the roads aren't labeled very well. The condo has everything you need with nice furnishings and updated kitchen. All in all, it was a great trip and we would definitely rent from the Taylors again.

Amazing week with family from Arlington VA

Guest: Arlington VA family (Arlington VA)
Date of Stay: 01/09/11 Review Submitted: 01/16/11

My family and I were very happy with our stay. The propery was clean and comfortable and had everything you needed. The owners were accomdating and made sure we had everything we needed. Amenities such as in unit washer/dryer were helpful. We were able to cook breakfast every morning and then head out to all the great East End Beaches that were close by. It's also very close to Red Hook harbor for the ferry to St. John and plenty of restaurants (Try blue moon cafe, 2 mins away). The pool was large and never crowded. Ainsleys the onsite restaurant had good casual food (burgers, pizza, subs..don't get the wings thought). Fitness buffs there is small gym onsite that charges $40 a week. Finally, the best thing we did was stay on the east end of st. thomas...away from the cruise ship crowd, traffic, and charlotte amalie. Make sure you hit Megans bay in the afternoon when crowds die down and park way down the beach. On the way home stop at Udder delight for a great milkshake.

Great vacation!

Guest: Family from MA (Marshfield, MA)
Date of Stay: 12/30/10 Review Submitted: 01/11/11

We have just returned from our vacation in St. Thomas over New Years and can't say enough about how fantastic this condo was! The views are amazing, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need, the beds are so comfortable - just everything is perfect. Our 5 20-somethings especially enjoyed the huge flat screen in the living room....We so enjoyed our stay - wish we could have stayed for a month! The Elysian Beach resort is a beautiful place to stay - the beach is small but beautiful, private and quiet. The grounds were extremely well kept. Both restaurants were great and the staff was very friendly. We had previously stayed at Secret Harbour and thought the Elysian couldn't top that but it surely did. This is definitely our new favorite place to stay on St. Thomas. One small note: don't depend on the wireless internet - we found it only worked for 1 day of our 7 day stay but my guess is that it is an island-wide problem. Hey, you're on vacation anyway, right? Who needs the internet! Thanks Rick & Susan for sharing your piece of heaven with us!

Fantastic Condo and Just as Advertised

Guest: David E. (Columbus, Ohio)
Date of Stay: 12/16/10 Review Submitted: 01/08/11

Rick and Susan Taylor are tremendous condo owners and go out of their way to service your needs, answer your questions, and provide excellent facilities at their beautiful condo. I would recommend, and already have, this condo to anyone. My 7 year old son said this was better than our Disney trips, which is saying something from a 7 year old! The view from this condo is amazing even at night watching stars and the nearby lights of St. John will take your breath away. The view is so good because you are actually not right on the beach but rather up a little higher and it is no big deal to get down to the beach, you can even request a golf cart ride up and down if walking is hard (it's about 3 flights of steps and a little walk maybe 2 minutes total). The resort itself is very well kept with two great restaurants and a fun beach area with plenty of sun, shade, and chairs. The pool is a lot of fun and well maintained. The wandering iguanas seem to always provide a lot of laughs and they leave you alone. The location near Red Hook is perfect. Red Hook has outstanding restaurants (check out the East End Cafe - the Chef is from South Carolina and can really cook!) and fun little shops while being the ferry port for St. John, which is a must do. We even took the car ferry over with no problems. One might read a lot about bad roads in St. John's but don’t let it bother you - they are well paved (the main ones) and the only things to be wary of is that there are some grades which are quite steep but no problem for our Ford Fusion - no need for 4 wheel drive. There is a fun restaurant of St. John called Jakes Restaurant with pancakes, breakfast burritos to die for, and a nice view. I can't say enough about the Taylors and this condo except that we will be back!

This condo exceeded all of our expectations!!!

Date of Stay: 11/10/10 Review Submitted: 11/20/10

We recently visited St.Thomas. We are a newly joined family with 4 boys between the two of us, ages 17, 13, 10, and 8. The floor plan and sleeping arrangements could not have worked out better for us. The condo was beautifully located within the complex with stunning views from each of the 4 balconies. The amenities made us feel right at home. Despite the extra humid conditions we experienced the first couple of days, the air conditioners in each room kept us cool and comfortable. The beds were super comfortable, the unit was extremely clean and the furnishings all new and modern. The location was dynamite as well. Just a 5 minute drive to the Red Hook Ferry Dock and 15 minutes later we were on St. John. We especially enjoyed Saphire Beach and Coki Point Beach for snorkeling. We went scuba diving and would highly recommend St. Thomas Dive Club (Andre is owner). Rick and Susan were so helpful with recommendations for dining, activities, etc. They were staying in their other condo while we were there and we never felt like we had the owners looking over our shoulder. They respected our privacy. We will not hesitate to go back to the USVI and when we do, we will be renting from Rick and Susan!

Vacation Delight

Guest: Rhonda and Robert (Chatham, NJ)
Date of Stay: 08/15/10 Review Submitted: 09/12/10

Dear Rick and Susan, Once again our family would like to thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us. Traveling with four young adults it provided everything that we could have possibly wanted and needed. The spaciousness of the condo, the amenities, the location, and the spectacular views from every room in the condo are second to none. The Taylors attention to detail and the manner in which they operate their property deserves recognition! We would definitely recommend a trip to St. John, a venture into town, ice cream at Utter Delight, drinks (especially a Lime in the Coconut) and dinner at the Ritzs, Fish Tales, and Duffy's - especially for young adults! We also enjoyed cooking and eating breakfast each morning while enjoying the views from the balcony. We shopped at both of the nearby groceries but agree that the grocery store in Red Hook is the place to purchase meats and seafood. We can truthfully say that not a day goes by that we don't talk about our trip. It was like being at home and in paradise at the same time! We are all looking forward to a a return trip in the near future. Thanks again, Rick and Susan!

June 2 thru June 8th/Wonderful family vacation and awesome condo location

Guest: Miss Kim (Dodge City, KS)
Date of Stay: 06/02/10 Review Submitted: 06/19/10

We recently had the opportunity to stay at your condo June 2nd through the 8th and had an amazing time. The condo was as described, very clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room for all of us and we truly enjoyed the awesome views from every room in the condo. The roof top deck was awesome. Having the kitchen really helped as we were able to eat breakfast in the condo which helped on expenses. THe location on the east end was great and convenient for activities. We really appreciated the use of the snorkeling equipment at the condo. Was nice to have the option to use it. We did alot during our stay there, ate at many great restaurants like: Molly Malone's, Fat Turtle, Wikked, Shipwreck Tavern, Robert's twice and made 2 stops at Udder Delite. On St. John we really had a good meal at the Sun Dog Cafe. The Bushwacker drinks are very good and addicting.. ON St. Thomas all the beaches were nice, Magens Bay and Sapphire Resort's beaches are beautiful but the best beach for me was Trunk Bay on St John..We beach hopped, took a day sail, did the SNUBA adventure on St. John, Virgin Island Ecotour, shopped and of course relaxed. If you have the time do the New Horizon's Day sail from Sapphire Resort. That was awesome and the food and snorkeling spots were extremely good. During our stays and snorkeling at several places we seen sea turtles, lobster, crabs, puffer fish, beautiful colored fish, small shark, baracuda and lots of beautiful sea life. If you stay at the Elysian Resort/this condo Talk to the guy down at the hut by the beach to get great discounts on excursions. This will save you lots of money. I am already wanting to go back. Our family had an amazing time. I will be recommending this condo and staying here to anyone I hear that is heading your way. Thank you Rick and Susan for being so easy to work with and ensure we had a good stay while on the island. The Williamson's

May 28-June 4, 2010: Fantastic Condo!

Guest: Susan, Ken and Family (Wauwatosa, WI)
Date of Stay: 05/28/10 Review Submitted: 07/02/10

We had a wonderful time staying on St. Thomas and this beautiful condo added to our enjoyment. The Taylor's have done everything to make their guests comfortable. We traveled with our teen daughter and pre-teen son and the accomodations for the children were perfect. They couldn't wait to show their friends pictures of the "swirly" staircase! The large master suite on the main level made me and my husband feel as if we were alone on a romantic trip! Renting condos is the only way we travel as a family and this condo is at the top of our list. The convenience of the kitchen allowed us to prepare breakfast each morning and even a lovely dinner on two of the nights. We did all of our grocery shopping at the Marina Market in Red Hook. They have a good selection of fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood. We also explored the islands' many restaurants. Our favorites were Latitude 18, Iggies and Lotus. The restaurants at the Elysian were delicious and convenient. On the day we arrived we didn't get in until very late. After the winding drive from the airport in the dark we were thankful to have Robert's available to grab something to eat. Even though it was essentially closing time for the restaurant, they sat us down at a table and told us to order whatever we felt like eating, even if we only wanted a burger or something simple. Ainsley's was the perfect restaurant for a delicious pizza after a long day on St. John. We were all pretty tired and didn't feel like driving out to a restaurant. Instead we took a quick walk down to the beach and ordered. After relaxing at the Elysian pool and beach on our first day we spent the rest of our week exploring the beaches on the island and decided that Sapphire and Lindquist were our favorites. The Taylors provide some snorkeling equipment at the condo and we were happy to use it. Make sure that you take a trip to St. John. We took the ferry over for one day and spent most of our time at Trunk Bay. Gorgeous!!!! Finally, we capped off our vacation with the New Horizons BVI trip. We highly recommend it. The crew on the boat was great and we really enjoyed seeing The Baths, snorkeling Diamond Reef, and lounging on Jost Van Dyke. Great islands + Great condo = Memorable Trip!

FANTASTIC! What a wonderful week we had at your Beautiful, well-equipped condo! Thank you so much for sharing! It is set up so well for couples or families too, but 3 king beds with private bathrooms and plenty of space. Flat screen TV's, I-Pod, small grill on deck...and the views!! This truely is the BEST condo at the Elysian if not all of St. Thomas. We went to several other beaches and it was so nice to come back here and to a place that really felt like home. We kept saying that all week! Can't wait to go back!! Thanks again for sharing such a special place!

This is a top notch condo: tastefully decorated and stocked with all of the ammenties that one needs on vacation - kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels, dw powder & liquid, spices, and good cooking utensils. There is also a washer and dryer!!! Best of all the condo is clean and spacious with wonderful views. The Owners were very helpful with advice about activities and restaurants that they had enjoyed. We've rented many condos over the years and this one was by far the best in all respects.

We stayed from Feb.7-21 in this fabulous condo. We have rented in the past, but this was our best yet. The owners were so accommodating and helpful throughout the whole process. We covered a lot of ground in the two weeks but it was always good to get back and relax with a cool drink on the patio. Quite honestly it felt like home. The owners have taken care to stock the condo with everything you would need. The location is perfect for access to St.John and the Bvi's, and only a short drive to Red Hook and its amenities. We would return in a heartbeat, as this place has everything we wanted in a vacation. Thanks again Rick and Susan for sharing your home with us!

Awesome vacation, great choice on this condo, worked out perfectly, and enjoyed the beautiful view. Nothing crowded on any of the islands.Learning to drive on the left was fun. The car ferry ride to St John was worth it. Snorkeled at two great places, Trunk Bay and Haulover Bay.Did the jet skis at Sapphire and Double Header fishing trip, caught yellowtail snapper, mackerel and Roberts Grill cooked it for us.Had a wonderful trip with Break Away to Virgin Gorda, Marina Cay, Diamond Reef, and Jost Van Dyke’s Soggy Dollar Bar.On our rainy day we got in some tennis, snorkeled at Sapphire, not good visibility but cloudy day and then drove the island to Magen’s Bay.Food was all good! East End upscale, Halian was good, Iggy’s all you can eat crab night was so good! Delicious! Visited Duffy’s afterward for drinks and dancing. Celebrated a birthday at Room With A View, nice place!! Senor Pizza was good for a casual night, no atmosphere but decent pizza.Enjoyed tennis!! and tennis channel. Our last day was spent snorkeling at Coki Beach and Karaoke at Iggy’s, too fun!Now back to reality – Ugh! Thanks for a great time!

Great condo and a great trip. We tried to cram in as much as we could. New Horizons: All day snorkel cruise was great. Went on Sunday, only 12 on board and half price. Every other day 20-30 people.Double Header: Really nice guys/boats for sport fishing. Tell Tyler he owes this condo. We caught no fish, evidently a first according to many, what an honor. Still a good day!Jeff: Down at the beach hut. Has good info on everything!St John: A good day. Trunk Bay was beautiful. Hawknest also.We tried Coki and Magens here. We found them crowded and no better then Cowpet/Elysian. Not a bad idea to give it a try.Duffy’s was great, as usual.Iggy’s: Pretty good.Jet Skis: A great one hour. Maybe the most fun.

Great Week. Family of four from Philadelphia came down with two other families who stayed on Cowpet Bay also. Love the view from the roof. Spent plenty of free time up there. Visited 1) Charlotte Amalie – spent too much $$$, 2) Megan’s Beach – great after cruise ship crowd leaves, 3) New Horizons tour – past St John to Tortola, dove off Willy T’s boat, had lunch at Pirate Cove, snorkeled Yost Van Dyke, etc..Restaurants: Robert’s, Ainsley’s, Molly Malone’s, Mims, etc..Your place may have one of the better views on the island. The week went way too fast. If possible, we’d like to get back in two years. Most importantly, you’ve got everything we needed right here. Our best vacation ever. We’ll certainly miss the morning view.

We’ve had a great week here in your beautiful condo. My folks came with us and we’ve had plenty of room. You’ve done a great job furnishing the condo. We rented a car, jeep, and it was perfect! It took a day to learn to drive on the left but then it was fine. We even took the car barge to St John and it was great. We snorkeled at Trunk Bay and it was OK but then we continued to Miss Lucy’s for lunch, well worth the drive! The pool was really nice too. We definitely will come again.

Here’s our tips:-Robert’s is good for breakfast but was boring and overpriced – Ainsley’s was better.-Duffy’s and Off The Hook were fun and tasty! -We rented a boat with a Captain at Sea and Ski (behind the deli across from Duffy’s) – did a full day out seeing Jost Van Dyke, St John, Tortola, the Baths at Virgin Gorda, and Norman Island (lunched there excellent- then snorkeled at caves). Incredible day and price - $650 (including gas). Private boat, our choice of stops, nice captain and divided by 6 is a great deal!-We rented a minivan for our stay – also a great deal though when we drove around north side of island we weren’t sure we’d make it up some of the hills.-Take a walk over to the Ritz Carlton – lovely – nice long beach to walk and if you keep going east you end up facing Red Hook. All in all, a fantastic trip and perfectly outfitted condo. We loved it.

This was an amazing place to stay! Every day we had a lovely view of the beach. The restaurants on the beach were great too, especially the desserts. The New Horizons sailing trip was spectacular! We did some great snorkeling and the service was very good. Taking the ferry over to St John and then riding the taxi was easy. Trunk Bay gets very crowded and so get there earlier. Although it is crowded it has great snorkeling. Really, this was a great location and place to stay. Now we have to go back to the snow. Thanks again.

Rick and Susan, The condo exceeded our expectations, the pictures and description don't do it justice. Beautiful place, great view, well maintained with all the amenities. The Elysian resort has a wonderful restaurant, nice pool and beach and friendly staff. We plan on returning next year. Thank you.

Thanks so much for having such a beautiful condo for us to enjoy! Everything we needed was right here! Also we appreciate all your helpful advice and info sheets on where to go and what to do. We highly recommend eating in Red Hook - Off The Hook, Duffy’s Love Shack, Lotus, and Roberts were wonderful! Day trip to enjoy St John’s beaches was amazing as well as a trip to Baths and Snorkeling. We relaxed, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have memories and photos we will treasure forever!

We had such a nice time here and the shops, restaurants, and beaches were good. This place was like P-A-R-A-D-I-S-E. First of all, we all loved the East End Café and had different sauces and everything was delicious. Also the beaches on St Thomas and St John were amazing. My favorite was Magens Bay, but the one that was REALLY amazing was Trunk Bay in St John. Our family put on the snorkeling gear and set out to see what it’s like for the fish and coral. We didn’t go out so far to see the dangerous stuff like sea urchins, but we did see things like the different colors, shapes and sizes of different kinds of fish and the coral was just amazing. We had a fun time here, such as building sand castles, going to the pool, doing putt-putt golf, and just goofing off at the beach. We had such a good time at St Thomas and at St John. Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us.

Our stay here was amazing! It is a beautiful condo with wonderful amenities! The views are amazing and I will hopefully never forget them. This experience at St Thomas has been amazing with the gorgeous beaches, hammocks, swimming, snorkeling, boating, etc. basically everything! It is a trip we will never forget! Dear Taylors, Wow! The Virgin Islands are amazing! I thank you so much for allowing us to use your beautiful condo! The trip would have been wonderful regardless, but the trip was amazing due to the early mornings and long nights on the upper deck. The snorkeling was amazing! I will never be able to compare swimming in Oregon to swimming in the USVI. This trip will forever hold a place in my heart. We all were in for an adventure but came out as victorious conquerors or a journey never forgotten. Thank you!!!

We happily and luckily tagged along with our folks for a spectacular week in your beautiful place! Got a night out last pm sans little one thanks to our built in babysitters (Ian is 4½ and thinks this is his new home). Anyway, had a surprising lovely evening at Point Pleasant – casual dinner at Fungi’s and then dessert at Agave Terrace. The setting, grounds and view were the perfect ending to a week in paradise. We’ll remember it always. Thanks so much!

What a beautiful condo! We’ll definitely stay here next time again. We went to Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda and St John. Had a fabulous time. We booked Treazzure to Jost and they were wonderful – friendly, fun, relaxed. Limnos Charters to Virgin Gorda was great also. We would recommend both. Robert the chef at Mafolie rocks! We’ve been there several times and have never been disappointed with the food. We will be back!

Hi Rick & Susan – What a fabulous condo with tremendous views. - Dinner at Roberts was excellent, - A day trip to St John with the car ferry with stops at Maho Bay, Salt Pond, The Westin & lunch a Chateau Bordeaux, which has the best food and awesome views of Coral Bay, - We took a private boat with a local captain over to the Bays of St John, cleared British Customs at the West End, went to a couple of great dive sites and beaches. Also went to Jost Van Dyke for visits to Foxy’s and Ivan’s Stress Free bar. This was the most fantastic day! - For a great local beach to enjoy with good snorkeling, Sugar Bay fits the bill. We had our 8 and 9½ year old in the pool there with no problems even though only the beach is for public access, - Dinner last night at sunset at the North Drop Inn was spectacular. Thirty minute drive, past Drake’s Seat and Magen’s Bay, but was worth it. Thank you for a perfect place to stay! We loved the rooftop deck at night. All the best,

What a lovely & luxurious location from which to enjoy the USVIs. We enjoyed the New Horizons snorkel tour (but be sure to use the 2-for -1 coupon in the Tropical Treasure brochure). For food, we found Roberts a bit disappointing and preferred the low end eateries in Red Hook: Senor Pizza, Wok’n Roll and Duffy’s Love Shack. We’re glad we got over to St John for a day – definitely a higher level of Paradise. Of course, nothing beat having a drink on the rooftop patio overlooking Cowpet Bay at sunset. Thanks to Rick & Susan for all the upscale amenities like the entertainment system & well appointed kitchen.

Rick & Susan - Just wanted to thank you for use of your wonderful villa. You really thought of everything. We also appreciated your help very much with all of our questions. We spent time at a different beach each day. We even ventured over to St. John one day. We absolutely loved everything. The kids really enjoyed the beach and pool. Thanks again. I have given your information to lots of people and we will surely be back.

Rick & Susan, Thanks so much for sharing your piece of paradise with us! What a great way to ring in the New Year! You were right – everyone on the island must visit Duffy’s and be sure to order “lime in de coconut”, its truly fabulous. Only one day of rain but the rest were heavenly. St John was a treat as well. We took two day trips to Leinster Bay (great snorkeling), Cinnamon Bay and Trunk. The bar next to the dock at Cruz Bay has a great lively atmosphere and Mahogany Runs shops are the epitome of island shopping. We found Charlotte Amalie to be too congested however a drink at Tavern on the Waterfront called the “Grateful Dead” made by the petite blond bartender left quite a kick. Dinner at Craig and Sallys was fabulous and her eggplant cheesecake is to die for. As for our final indulgence the Marina Market in Red Hook has a great bakery counter with sweets for all taste buds, my father couldn’t get enough of the cornbread. The Elysian was a great home for us during the week and we utilized the kitchen a lot! The condo exceeded all expectations, you all have a beautiful home here! From the turquoise warm waters to the bright yellow sun, everything was just perfect….next time we must stay longer!
